Being a Canadian, did you have to pay (or lose) the taxes on your win? I've hit a few hand pays in Michigan and had the 30% taken off on the spot. Heading back to Vegas in April and hoping to finally hit a hand pay there.
Being a Canadian, the taxes should come off right away as we wouldn't file a tax return in the US (unless he does because of his UA-cam income) and don't have the option to have it come off at tax time. Form W7 and 1040NR can be sent in to the IRS to get the money that came off back, but I don't believe there is any other way around this as a non US citizen.
A lot of people choose to pay the taxes afterwards. Personally, I like to pay them up front and not have to worry about it when it comes to tax time. In this case, he would have to pay it on his taxes when the time comes around.
Congratulations Matthew and Justin 🎊🎉🎰

He will have to pay taxes on it when it comes to text time next year.

Personally I would have rather that it have been under $1200 so that I would not have to pay taxes on it.
Well, we wouldn't know if you had a hand paid because you didn't show us you need to learn to operate the camera.
Yeah what an idiot!😂🤣
