They have some really unique pieces. As much as I am a fireman through and through, I was most impressed with the first ambulance. It's so rare the see a beautifully preserved ambulance from the 60's that's not a Cadillac.
They deserve alot of credit tons of it let's stop and honor and appreciate the paramedics and firemen who proudly serve us your service and time and efforts are deeply appreciated thanks great job great team work and good catches as usual still going strong way to go don't work to hard love and appreciate you guys thanks you guys rock way to go !! Joe all the respect to all the first responders god bless you guys thanks !!
Everything looks great after all these years later thanks you should be proud that's how you got the job done you should be proud love respect and appreciate you guys thanks terrific catch as usual way to go ! Joe
Notice the Elizabeth Mack. It has a windshield on the rear end for fireman who stand on the tailboard. Those days are long gone due to obvious safety concerns....but back then it was part of the job and considered totally normal.
Assuming the pumps are in good shape...they are indeed fully capable of handling a fire today just as well as a new $500,000 pumper. Can't haul as much hose or gear...but hook them to a hydrant and they'll pump all day long. There is a department here in Indiana that still uses a 50's Mack. It pump tests 100% each year and looks showroom new. The company that tests our pumps each year also test theirs. They say it's unstoppable and totally reliable.
Who doesn't like these old pals here. They served almost a few decades or so. Maybe a few years. Appreciate these trucks. Who knows what will happen if these trucks are not built to put out those fires. Just some horse and carriage would still be used but that won't be enough.
jeus christ ), does anyone else find those jerico sirens annoying? I don't know the proper name for them, but the ones that never seem to make a consistent sound?

If these rigs could talk, can you imagine the stories they would tell?
One could only imagine
What model siren on that white Roseville LaFrance at 8:08? Goes home with “best in show” sound award.
