@@TomsonPRD While most of the BB's are indeed fake or paper ships, some of them did actually exist, like the Gangut and the Imperator Nikolai. Now what about paper ships, most people complain and scream about how the russian line is so fake because of all of its ships that never existed, i don't hear ya'll complaining about Montana or Zao so ill listen until you think about what you are complaining about. An example of a ship that was a paper ship and actually was being built but cancelled was the Sovetsky Soyuz, A Soviet Battleship with 406mm guns and they even got to the testing of the guns. Just look around on google and you'll see the facts about the Russian paper ships. Don't just assume they are glorifying the Russian line, never assume things like that.
I am well aware. But we've never ever seen an entire Branch where 89% of it rusted into dockyards or didn't even reach the laying down phase (and with Borodino coming the percentage will be even higher). Out of all nine ships only *ONE*, the T4 Gangut, actually went at sea. One. Out of Nine. Think about it, that's not the same. I'm not against paper ships, otherwise Yamato and Iowa would be the only T10-9 BBs, but this entire Soviet thing is just stupid.
Fair warning, these are my opinions after playing the T5-T7 (since the T8 drop chance was made to be 0.001% as a joke) I wouldn't play these at any point unless absolutely necessary to complete a mission while grinding my teeth... take it with a grain of salt. Lets see... How to play your new Italian mistake (erm...) cruiser: First lets look at the aspects of your new researchable Italian cruiser 1) Total lack of DPS () 2) SAP shells with more DMG than AP, but 100% lackluster in performance (but hey you can shoot DDs right?!) 3) AP shells that shatter, ricochet, bounce off of BB and Cruiser armor but citadel for 4k dmg@ about 3-6km from target (203mm guns right? WTF!!!) 4) Battleship reload times on a cruiser (see point 1 for more details. What were you people thinking?!!) 5) Paper thin armor that makes an Atlanta laugh at you, DDs spit on you, and BBs love you (Awesome! Ever been citadeled by an Icarus in a T7 cruiser from any other line?) 6) Total lack of support consumables (good luck finding those DDs, see point 2. GOOD LUCK BUDDY!) 7) Detactability at range of torps (we'll come back to this) 8) 12km torps, slow speed, detected at long range (and sure enough, range is under or just at detectability, see point 7) 9) Fighter or Spotter plane (see point 10) 10) AA deadzone where you can't hit a thing, but you sure can't get away (Maybe use that awesome smoke?) 11) Smoke where you can roll full speed (Awesome if it lasted long enough to get out of range of the BB that spotted you before you popped smoke) Now lets look at how you play: 1) Sink by fire after being spotted 2) Sink by massive inc DPS as you are a pinata seen for miles 3) Sink by torps you couldn't see, from the DD you tried to chase into smoke without sonar 4) Sink by massive dmg, while spotted trying to chase the DD into smoke because SAP rouns are awesome against DDs 5) Sink because you came up broadside to an atlanta and his AP does more than yours (great armor there) 6) Sink because a plane keeps circling you, but you can't shoot it making you a pinata 7) Sink after popping smoke because it ran out before you could get out of range of that BB you wanted to use SAP rounds on because it "LOOKS" like that bit of his bow isn't saturated 8) Sink because this boat sux 9) And Finally, get kills by holding fire until your teammates have them down to 1-2k hp and snap that stuff up like a scavenger, then sink because you were spotted
these ships arent for me and i doubt if they are for anyone really, u get spotted almost at the maximum range you shoot at and they are paper. i quit after unlocking tier 6 most maps are open with you have to getting closer to engage and closer to getting 1 or 2 shotted from a bb that shoots at you from the other side of the map . the ammo is cool but that alone cant make a ship. you really need to consider rework their concealment of their firing range. and its not like you have hydro to counter DD's or a smoke that lasts longer like most ships do, its like a one legged man on an ass kicking contest.
So to conclude: - Reload is horrible - Ricochet angles are horrible - Usable DPM is horrible - Tech tree ships at T5 have 152mm guns not 203mm - Genova is garbage, worst ship in the game. WG response to the abysmal issues with the ships.... "git gud" 😒 I really like the idea and playstyle, they just simply are not good enough to even compete
Only have the tier V tech line but here is my opinion Good things so far: Very maneuverable. Can go around obstacles and islands with little issues. I love the speed on this thing. Decent torpedo range to surprise inattentive foes As always attention to detail in ship design. Good job animators! Full speed Smoke generators Things that need improvement: SAP reload time. Low tier so I know it shouldn't be all that impressed but if the whole line has high reload times the faction will suffer in the damage department. On average in a random battle in the mont I get between 16k to 35k in damage which sadly I can sometimes do 16k in my Albany since it can set fires. Since they cannot set fires I would make them have a faster reload time to compensate for that as say a battleship will not suffer the same against regular HE. Slightly better concealment when firing guns. Right now at least on the tier V the concealment like is somewhat near the gun range line, this result in the ships having to move away from the battle sooner than other ships and is more vulnerable to mass targeting. And it is fast and maneuverable but it is not a French cruiser by any means.
Im still convinced that the velocity of the shells is slower than advertised they need to check it. The Italian line is very weak you simply cant carry in them or have a large impact on the game especially with the lets hug at the back meta the cv rework brought with it or the influx of recruiting station players that have come on boaed.
1, Avoid getting shot at. 2, Occasionally try to shoot something (and really hope you hit or you'll be waiting ages to reload 3, See 1.... 4, See 1. Disagree with Vigilance - better to spend it on torp acceleration (they're so slow!) and rudder shift much more useful than acceleration. Not really sure what radio location is for either - pushing in in these ships is suicidal. It's not that you can't play them, just that it's not very fun - everything they do the French or Japanese do better. Good for a challenge, not sure I'm finding them fun yet though (only done T5 and T7 though).
How to. Stay at long range and lose Karma faster than your health pool evaporates when shot by a BB. Angle away and save your smoke for retreats. Torps are used to annoy team mates/go pink. Abandon hope of damaging anything angled against you or RU BBs. Wish you were playing a French cruiser instead. That cover it?
Unfortunately there needs to be a solid buff to pen angles, reload speed etc. unfortunately they’re VERY situational and feel like floating citadels especially at low-mid tiers. Not to mention the anemic damage towards the BB bois and girls. Additionally, tech line wise: doesn’t the tier V still have 152mm?
Epic NOOB , unfortunately their AP isn’t as good and their torps are also kinda mleh. They one thing they really excel at is blapping DDs.... but they’ve got like 14-20 second reload on their guns. Double what the RN have.
@@epicnoob8635 At least with RN cruisers you have a fast reload and even if you only do 500 per salvo, is a consistent 500 damage every 3-5 seconds. In italian ships you do the same 700 damage every 20 seconds.
The SAP shell would have been a brilliant idea if it was the British alternate ammo type. And the low speed of the Italian torps forces you to get close, making the longer range irrelevant.
love the maneuverability on them but the moment anything even looks at them wrong. their engine and steering breaks. every single match ive used them in, first hit, there goes the engine. even with the upgrades to help prevent it.

How blatent about it do they have to get before people really see it? If it aint russian, don't buy it, and you'll almost never be 'outshipped'. Period. Not even counting smolensk...
I really wanted to like these ships and they look great on paper but they pop way too easily and SAP is underwhelming. I'll be avoiding them until they get a buff
I like the idea of these glascannons.. the lack of range is an issue.. and they have no armor. Maybe the T10 will be a good armed ship in the end. i love the AP
How about a radar on Tier IX Brindisi and X Venezia? Historically, Italian ships were equipped with GUFO, the first Italian built radar. Roma was one of the many Italian warships which equipped it. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gufo_radar
People who liked the video are either WG staff or people that haven't played the pasta ships yet. This is the worst line ever released in WOWs. Period. The SAP is pathetic, the guns are mediocre, the armor is quite bad, the reload is terrible etc. Garbage ships and a line to be skipped unless they buff them A LOT which could happen after 5-6 updates judging by the speed of the re-balancing so far.
These ships aren't entirely garbage, but their stats are insanely padded in a negative way. Gotta' lower that Main Battery reload to 15 secs stock. Smoke CD needs to be lowered considerably. Torps should do 15-16K dmg at least. It's a triple launcher, and they're slow AF FFS. But honestly the reload change alone would probably put them in a way better place and compensate for the lack of fires.
Genova stats 8 battles: WR 100%, average frags 3, average damage 70,000. Its only 8 battles but that's not bad. As much as they seem built to fail I do great with them.
Nice ad. In reality most T5 Italian CAs parameters need to be increased to T5 average levels: DPM (by reducing the rate of fire a couple of seconds), range (by a km), rudder shift, reducing the citadel because pretty much every BB AP hit from ANY angle gets a citadel.
Took four years but happy to see the Regia Marina and that they aren't just an HE spewing broken game mechanic line...they take skill and planning to use effectively.
@@prisuners6275 They are great at running engagement and flank support. People are disliking them simply because they can't sit behind an island and spam fires with a broken game mechanic.
how about instead of a "How to play" these ships video, you make them not crappy? reload is 15 seconds on a T6 with 8 guns; best concealment on it is 12.7km AND your smoke takes over 2 minutes to come back up after like a 25 second puff AND your bloom in smoke is still over 9-10km and you have no HE. DO NOT play these cruisers unless you are ready for a painful grind; ESPECIALLY in +2 matchmaking.
It has more to do with plenty of midtier BBs having armor all around, while from tier 7 onwards only glorious russian BB master race and cheap german knockoffs have such feature. Against ships with all-or-nothing armor layout, SAP can be disturbingly effective when you land them on "nothing" parts.
probably because when you're shifting to avoid enemy fire, you lose speed and having acceleration buffs will make sure you get your speed back quicker so you're not a slower target.
While I appreciate the effort in bringing us these videos, but they will not make Italian cruisers good or even decent. The Amalfi on Tier 8 not having a heal, not having hydro, missing radar and being a very very light cruiser, is just bad. Cruisers with these traits usually sit behind islands or in stationary long lasting smoke screens but not the Italians (and Germans...). They have flat trajectories that force them into the open, but while British cruisers got smoke and Germans have at least some protection, Italaians got nothing. Concealment and not using your guns is your best bet on survival and you will have a hard time marketing thsese things to the players.
This line of ships should have come out after the German line was released. The super strong Russian line feels like the cap-stone and completion of the game experience.
The Littorio class actually lacked HE, and Italian cruisers and destroyers had an AP shell that was more akin to other countries' SAP. In other words, they should have SAP and HE
Dunno what planet you lot at WG are on but these ships have terrible manoeuvrability Really 13 secs rudder shift time on some of them I have faster rudders on some of my BBs, I always hated the slow rudder on the Abruzzi as it made it harder to dodge shells compared to the Duca D'Aosta but even that had a rudder in the 7 secs range, if I found that bad then these ships are awful in manoeuvrability. I don't think you play your own game tight turning circle is good on BBs for changing angling and avoiding torpedoes, not for dodging shells what a fast agile cruiser needs is a snappy rudder! On another note it breaks Hydrodynamics that they have a tight turning circle cause the longer and thinner the ship the faster it can go but the larger the turning circle, these are long and thin ships, why do you follow this rule on ships like the Hood and Viribus Unitis but suddenly ignore it on this line!!! Also your upgrade selection is just plain wrong you want rudder mod 2 to give you some chance of dodging incoming BBs shells that will basically 1 shot you due to your massive citadel!!!
I can deal with Italian ships so I'll take it any day but won't play it all the time, but when I'm determined enough I never perish in the game no matter what I have sailing for a battle, except for destroyers cuz it's too fast and fragile...
You nerfed SAP, nerfed armor, nerfed reload and give basically only 1 smoke to italian cruiser line, Horrible AA, torps almost useless and so on... italian line is .."meh"... and you dare also to write and say "..The ships of the Italian branch have a number of advantages that can surprise your rivals and help you find a way out of almost any situation." ? Come on guys.....
Why is that WG puts out the STILL VERY BROKEN Russian battleship line, a middle of the road, French destroyer line, and now the bottom of the barrel Italian cruiser line? Either WG is getting lazy, they stopped caring (it was 20% at best), or they think we're just too stupid to notice.

All you need to know about SAP is that it has the weaknesses of both HE and AP and very few of the strengths
Buff the reload FFS, I enjoy playing with my pity montecuccoli, but It's insane to have a 14 seconds reload in a T5 cruiser.
This video would have been perfect for April Fool's Day. The line is HORRIBLE! Italian players should be offended at this line.
Well said! The line seems super rushed, with far less dedication received as opposed to their glorified fake Soviet BB tech tree.
@@TomsonPRD Nah not super rushed, the SAP in the test server before the nerf was so freakng awesome.... they nerfed to the ground and trust me, tey gonna add a prenerf SAP to a premium soviet ship
I'm not against paper ships, otherwise Yamato and Iowa would be the only T10-9 BBs, but this entire Soviet thing is just stupid.
im not even Italian and IM offended by the line
Fair warning, these are my opinions after playing the T5-T7 (since the T8 drop chance was made to be 0.001% as a joke) I wouldn't play these at any point unless absolutely necessary to complete a mission while grinding my teeth... take it with a grain of salt.
Lets see... How to play your new Italian mistake (erm...) cruiser:
First lets look at the aspects of your new researchable Italian cruiser
1) Total lack of DPS ()
2) SAP shells with more DMG than AP, but 100% lackluster in performance (but hey you can shoot DDs right?!)
3) AP shells that shatter, ricochet, bounce off of BB and Cruiser armor but citadel for 4k dmg@ about 3-6km from target (203mm guns right? WTF!!!)
4) Battleship reload times on a cruiser (see point 1 for more details. What were you people thinking?!!)
5) Paper thin armor that makes an Atlanta laugh at you, DDs spit on you, and BBs love you (Awesome! Ever been citadeled by an Icarus in a T7 cruiser from any other line?)
6) Total lack of support consumables (good luck finding those DDs, see point 2. GOOD LUCK BUDDY!)
7) Detactability at range of torps (we'll come back to this)
8) 12km torps, slow speed, detected at long range (and sure enough, range is under or just at detectability, see point 7)
9) Fighter or Spotter plane (see point 10)
10) AA deadzone where you can't hit a thing, but you sure can't get away (Maybe use that awesome smoke?)
11) Smoke where you can roll full speed (Awesome if it lasted long enough to get out of range of the BB that spotted you before you popped smoke)
Now lets look at how you play:
1) Sink by fire after being spotted
2) Sink by massive inc DPS as you are a pinata seen for miles
3) Sink by torps you couldn't see, from the DD you tried to chase into smoke without sonar
4) Sink by massive dmg, while spotted trying to chase the DD into smoke because SAP rouns are awesome against DDs
5) Sink because you came up broadside to an atlanta and his AP does more than yours (great armor there)
6) Sink because a plane keeps circling you, but you can't shoot it making you a pinata
7) Sink after popping smoke because it ran out before you could get out of range of that BB you wanted to use SAP rounds on because it "LOOKS" like that bit of his bow isn't saturated
8) Sink because this boat sux
9) And Finally, get kills by holding fire until your teammates have them down to 1-2k hp and snap that stuff up like a scavenger, then sink because you were spotted
This How to Video is as legit as Pineapple on Pizza
these ships arent for me and i doubt if they are for anyone really, u get spotted almost at the maximum range you shoot at and they are paper. i quit after unlocking tier 6 most maps are open with you have to getting closer to engage and closer to getting 1 or 2 shotted from a bb that shoots at you from the other side of the map . the ammo is cool but that alone cant make a ship. you really need to consider rework their concealment of their firing range. and its not like you have hydro to counter DD's or a smoke that lasts longer like most ships do, its like a one legged man on an ass kicking contest.
They need a concealment buff! How should we get close to an enemy, hit him hard and run away, when you're spotted from the moon?
The short answer to "Italian Cruiser: How To, is Don't play them. The Italian Navy, AKA the ships that got shafted by Russian Bias.
ANyone notcied that they are ONLY against bots in this video?...
ZARA AP cannot pen the side of a Tier IX BB at 4km
Italian Cruisers need BIG BUFFS and hydro acoustic search
Maybe not hydro, but yes, buffs are needed badly
> Starting from Tier 5. The Italian ships will have 203mm Guns.
This is incorrect. The T5 Researchable Italina cruiser has 152mm guns.
True the same doubt I have
With a 203 reload time, such a horrible reload when you consider the Exeter has 15 sec on 203 and most 152 are around 7 to 9 secs
Just avoid Italian ship at the moment, WG made them bad
So to conclude:
- Reload is horrible
- Ricochet angles are horrible
- Usable DPM is horrible
- Tech tree ships at T5 have 152mm guns not 203mm
- Genova is garbage, worst ship in the game.
WG response to the abysmal issues with the ships.... "git gud" 😒
I really like the idea and playstyle, they just simply are not good enough to even compete
Genova is thoroughly mediocre, but she's far from the worst ship in the game. Go play stock Phoenix and see if you still believe that.
@@SeaRaptor or the viribus getting ducked by every carrier in the game
And they have citadels similar to Omaha
Only have the tier V tech line but here is my opinion
Good things so far:
Very maneuverable. Can go around obstacles and islands with little issues.
I love the speed on this thing.
Decent torpedo range to surprise inattentive foes
As always attention to detail in ship design. Good job animators!
Full speed Smoke generators
Things that need improvement:
SAP reload time.
This was my Favorite update of last year
Im still convinced that the velocity of the shells is slower than advertised they need to check it. The Italian line is very weak you simply cant carry in them or have a large impact on the game especially with the lets hug at the back meta the cv rework brought with it or the influx of recruiting station players that have come on boaed.
Please wg buff the reload time of all Italian cruisers
It sounds like a Royal Navy cruiser with more reload time and no smoke camping capabilities.
@@snakefh That's my point.
The SAP shell would have been a brilliant idea if it was the British alternate ammo type. And the low speed of the Italian torps forces you to get close, making the longer range irrelevant.
Slow torpedoes is especially ridiculous when Italian torps were pretty fast
love the maneuverability on them but the moment anything even looks at them wrong. their engine and steering breaks. every single match ive used them in, first hit, there goes the engine. even with the upgrades to help prevent it.
How to play pasta cruiser
1- wait for buff

Wow. You are rellay making these ships sound better then they are 😂
1) Don’t play the Italian gourmet bread line.
2) Select the OP Russian counter part, and profit.
How blatent about it do they have to get before people really see it? If it aint russian, don't buy it, and you'll almost never be 'outshipped'. Period. Not even counting smolensk...
Which basically it's our navy with stolen blueprints but affected by the famous Russian bias
I really wanted to like these ships and they look great on paper but they pop way too easily and SAP is underwhelming. I'll be avoiding them until they get a buff
"Very rarely bounce off" and 2 of 6 hits bounces on video :D
Even u showing the SAP shells are weak.
I like the idea of these glascannons.. the lack of range is an issue.. and they have no armor. Maybe the T10 will be a good armed ship in the end. i love the AP

Le stanno mettendo, la corazzata Dante Alighieri è in accesso anticipato, e per il suo livello è una bomba
*don't. Safe some time and play another nation or entire game.
Just don’t... you are a disadvantage to your team by doing so
Genova stats 8 battles: WR 100%, average frags 3, average damage 70,000.
Aim for lightly armoured sections like the... magazines? Really?
I facepalmed at that part.
Excellent material! I truly love the ARMADA series and especially the ones longer than 90 seconds. Thanks WOWS!!!
Took four years but happy to see the Regia Marina and that they aren't just an HE spewing broken game mechanic line...they take skill and planning to use effectively.
Finally, someone with a positive thought on Italian Cruisers.
These ships aren't meant for newbies and casuals imo
@@prisuners6275 They are great at running engagement and flank support. People are disliking them simply because they can't sit behind an island and spam fires with a broken game mechanic.
Meanwhile in Azur lane.. Zara Bacame the pasta
how about instead of a "How to play" these ships video, you make them not crappy? reload is 15 seconds on a T6 with 8 guns; best concealment on it is 12.7km AND your smoke takes over 2 minutes to come back up after like a 25 second puff AND your bloom in smoke is still over 9-10km and you have no HE. DO NOT play these cruisers unless you are ready for a painful grind; ESPECIALLY in +2 matchmaking.
i open around 24 containers and only got the t5 Montecuccoli its horrible, not getting any more containers horrible RNG to get any of those ships.
If you want to experience 8 citadels in the first 2 mins of the game this is definitely the ship for you
Mzybe on higher tiers SAP works like on this film, buy when i play trento i have a lot of dings, from cruisers too not only from bbs
It has more to do with plenty of midtier BBs having armor all around, while from tier 7 onwards only glorious russian BB master race and cheap german knockoffs have such feature. Against ships with all-or-nothing armor layout, SAP can be disturbingly effective when you land them on "nothing" parts.
I have 1 tip , you don’t
Shut up
even DDs bounce off SAP .....
Why we need to use acceleration upgrade on a cruiser that has to be on the move ??!!!!
probably because when you're shifting to avoid enemy fire, you lose speed and having acceleration buffs will make sure you get your speed back quicker so you're not a slower target.
How to play? Right click and sell for scrap.
Apparently even WG didn't want to play those ships in randoms against real players and made a bot-stomp video playing CoOp instead.
How to play Italian Cruisers: Don't, unless it's the premiums, and then not the Genova.
I was expecting Flamu screaming for 7 mins about Pizza cruisers
1:18 he just said that the bounce angel for the SAP shells is 80 degrees right? That might just made them worth a try.
80 is just on the T10 ship
This line of ships should have come out after the German line was released. The super strong Russian line feels like the cap-stone and completion of the game experience.
Another proof that you don't play your own game... SAP is useless...
Had a thought what about adding a baked in reload boost for the SAP ammo keep reload same on AP , switch ammo based on AP
I am gonna wait with playing these cruisers until I get the new legendary Luigi captain. Then I can level both the line and him at the same time.
6:19 It was at this moment that Nathan knew he fked up
Give Roma those semi-AP shells. Her guns are actually big enough that they'd be useful.
The Littorio class actually lacked HE, and Italian cruisers and destroyers had an AP shell that was more akin to other countries' SAP. In other words, they should have SAP and HE
so this is how you pizza the medium italian girls
Genova : 20s reload and no smoke : not interesting !
it's useless the skill vigilance with this ships, because eurobeat come from Italy
So here's the thing that came to my mind, even the SAP ammo can't Citadel any ship. So what's the purpose of not giving them still s fire Chance?
Sap can cit tho
@@Starkillerscat but how? There is no armour thickness that SAP can pass to enter the citadel
outward citadel? Like Minotaur, Worecester, Moskva, Smolensk...
This is such a mixed bag of random strengths that the play style is so confusing.
Why the Italian cruiser aren't in the PlayStation edition of this game
In the future I wish that aircraft carrier Shinano would be there and I 400 japanese submarine
Once took 10,000hp off a cruiser with a Trento with the sap shells.
