The gift of this trip for your children is a memory that will never get a flat tyre, a flat battery, fade away or get old. It will be forever.
Memories are much more important than...things. I salute you both!
Absolutely
That's what I told my ex when she cleaned me out in the divorce, she can't take my memories.
My wife and I have watched almost every episode since we first found you 6 weeks ago. We dont watch movies anymore, we watch you guys. So inspired we've now purchased a 22.6ft van and in the middle of upgrading to a new 4WD. Paying attention to every detail on what you guys use so we can mimic, that way we know the product has been trialed and tested. We want to create the same memories for our 2 kiddies and see our great country. Hope to one day see you guys on the road. Thank you for sharing
I did this trip about 30 years ago just before we had kids with basic 4wd and tents. I think we are about 5 years off from doing it again with a bit more luxury this time..
It was one of the greatest trips I have done and after watching this can't wait for the next time. love your work guys.
Glen S thanks mate
I just love your family and relationships you all have together. I’m sure there is the hard times but you can definitely see the love

🌺 Amazing experience, just love your country, thanks for taking us along... here in England, we say ‘cor! Get that down ya neck’, and that’s in the posh parts! 🌺
down ya neck!!😂😂
So happy to see we can go to the cape without having to do all those crazy river crossings on the Telegraph Track. I’d seriously crossed the cape off the itinerary until watching your video.
Karyn Duel glad you enjoyed it mate 👌🍺
So much reminds me of our family trip around Australia twenty odd years ago. We did it tough-we only had a tent with our kids!
This is one of those feel-good videos... nice dad, nice wife, nice children. Oh, the scenery is alright :-)
Good to see ya cooking on the coals, not flames
👍👍🍻🍻
There are two amazing reasons why I watch your vids religiously.......
Dirt Therapy Down Under and they are?
One of the best travel videos
Cheers mate
Dream trip. Roof top tent nearly finished , ready to go, caravan fixed. You Guys having fun, waiting for next episode.
mario manestar loving it!!
Can you add some more of the wildlife you see. You must come across a lot of random wildlife on your journeys and camps. Also like the way you get the kids involved in everything. So much better than sitting them in front of a TV or video game.
@Chopper Royalty no don't have a David in the family

Good to see you come to your senses and got a Stone Stomper instead of those back window breaker screens!
Fran Baas yeah mate, it’s the best👍
I first travelled the road from Cairns to Weipa in 1979. In those days there were gates to open and close, and we camped at the Stewart River the first night. Over the years we watched the road develope into
the, mostly, beautiful road it is now.
You two so pleasant to watch not dribble and winging about your kids like some could mention we’ve all brought our family up We have travelled Aussie also loved every minute of it habve followed you for months watch episodes again keep going
I am by no means religious, but thank god you are back!🙏🙏😁
Craig Harbinson cheers mate 🍺

Sandra Watkins cheers
We sit up in bed, a cuppa in hand and watching you guys on the telly. Very entertaining, and inspirational in planning our own ‘Big Lap’ for next year. Keep the vids coming, we love em!

Sarah Phillips cheers mate
Redemption tackle vamp squid getting inhaled by that jack !! Well done Justin good fish!
Hi guys love your videos. We stayed at camp #4 @ Hahn Crossing, my kids fished at your camp site and were blessed I guess with the presence of the croc that you guys would have seen, he popped his head up under my daughter to check her and out and then sized up my son.. he figured he couldn't really get a bite but he made himself very well known and showed his enormous body off to us for a good 10mins even went down and waded in front of our camp site for a while before disappearing. It was a quiet an experience!
Love what you guys are doing!!
Excellent vid guys,sensational...by the way,the little finger mark is actually a Moses perch..yummy to eat as well though...I live in cairns and love the area👍👍👍
Those pre cleaners are terrible. The best thing to get is the Donaldson cyclonic air filter.... Also, FRESH AIR is the way to go on dusty roads.. Creates a positive pressure in the cabin, thus pushing out dust.
Fantastic footage and great info !! So excited to see you guys back and heading for more adventure .... 😃😃
Thanks mate
Hey mate, those pre filters do very little in the way of fine dirt, they're great for bugs and bigger particles but a great trick to those is getting one of the misses stockings and stretching it over the filter when you arent oiling the prefilters as it stops the very fine dust and also give you a slighter increase in vacuum which in turn give you slightly better boost on sandy surfaces as higher speeds. I use the little sockette stockings for the feet as they are perfect on carbs and are easier to dust off once you remove them.
Svenson Lord that’s great info thanks mate💪💪
Very good episode. Interesting that October is so quiet. That sounds good to me.
Wes Venter perfect
Who were the 12 miserable pricks to put a thumbs down......seriously........
Hoping to get to the cape next July/August. Keep up the great work.
Darrin Douglas ya win some ya lose some 🍺🍺
Hey guys & kids great to see you again have missed watching you lot cant wait for part 2 take care.
Good ole ringers rest, I use to live next door, there’s a freshwater river out the back that’s good for a swim an pyre tru much flows all year 👍🏻
Great spot
Good to see you guys on the road enjoying it again and some fish !!
Top video guys.... Wow... 8 tonne setup.... ...lucky u got a cruiser... Keep them vids comin.. ...and keep enjoying yr trip.....
What a ripper of an ep! Absolutely loved the vibe cos we were super pumped to watch this ep after waiting so long!
Cheers
Hey guys if the toilets a bit average smelling try changing the chemicals for Nappy San it will break down what it's supposed to but not kill the good bacteria leaving no Smell
NICE tips mate love your videos keep safe and GOD BLESS
Thanks for the car tips. It really help us when we travelling. We are really worrying about the dust and how it affecting the car and van.
An area I dearly want to take my misso' and squids. One day hopefully! Thanks for the insight into the area, and all the 'hot' tips as always. Keep up the good work!
Boydy Boyd cheers mate
We just ordered our Opus 2 camper on the weekend to take to the Cape next year. Can't wait!!
Another great Vid guys, thanks for all of the info you give your followers. We have been in Darwin for about 7weeks and hitting W.A in a couple of weeks when the borders open, so it was good to watch some travel on the road.
Cheers and safe travels, can't wait for your next vid.
Anton & Tania
Anton Noles cheers mate, safe travels
Another great video. I love watching your travels.
I'm hoping to do an inland trip through Queensland next April/May and then consider our trip to WA. Your tips are terrific for off road too. The pool noodles again, the positive air in the van, saves heaps of money in the end and just as much time.
And mate, that fingermark you had looked very much like a Moses Perch. But hard to tell from a video. Check it out online.
Happy travels.
funny enough, my cousin and I build a little dam on the eastern side of the creek, back in 2005. When we took the old 60 up there. Apparently it's still there today.
Hi, we are heading to Cape York next year, so will enjoy watching your series. What brand is the caravan stone guard you got in Cairns please?
It’s a stone stomper, bought it online 💪
@@TripInAVan Thank you
Cant wait for part 2 and hopefully when the road is fully sealed I will venture up in my RV myself... Have fun in the Sun...

Gypsy Rover Adventures cheers
Guys!!!...been subscribed for a few years now, videos were becoming fairly standard (no offence)...the ENERGY in this video is magic! this is why we sub to TIAV!! Cape York Magic is in the veins!!
First time watching these videos, very interesting..!
Before you board the jardine ferry put the rear van leveling legs pointing towards the front to save scraping the barge or bending legs
You should get a “Cyclone Filter” attachment for the top of the snorkel. Much better than an oiled sock and you only have to empty it once a month in bad conditions. They’re about $30 on eBay.
But look like ass lol they definitely work though
Thanks for an enjoyable video. Great photography and , in particular, the drone work.
Ron Hughes thanks mate
Your video gave me enough positivity for my day my friend. Thank you 🙏
AlfaMega A enjoy 👍
Loveing content as always really enjoying this one because we are looking at doing the same trip in our caravan. Just a thought on the pre-cleaner for the snorkel. The oil is actually the mechanism that catches the dust, the foam is just a framework for the oil. From my Dirtbike experience running for days in bull dust with no provision to clean air filters at the end of the day you can use concentrated dishwashing liquid as a foam filter oil. Just cover the intake section or the foam with dishwashing liquid, work it through with your fingers just like he would filter oil and put it straight on the snorkel, you’ll see all the dust that the detergent catches at the end of the day and then rinse it out afterwards. Clean as a whistle.
Just use a used 'classy' women's stocking. Only a 'classy stocking' will do as when people question what you are using ... you can't just say you're using you wife's old nylons...It has to be something exotic (with a story behind it- like where you go ti from, an old swingers bar or such) like something from an Ex, or from an old affair you've had...ANyway...just saying...Double up an old stocking and socked in oil or detergent as suggested...works well !!!
Love your whole video series guys but this one especially because it's top of my bucket list. I also really like that you take the time to explain stuff like bush proofing the van and car and looking after the tyres, etc because it reinforces my discussions with the misso. If I had the coin, we would love to have your exact setup but for now I just got a 79 series and am building a camping trailer to help with dwelling out bush in comfort for longer. But your vids are keeping us inspired until then. Thanks
Pauls DIY Boredom Busters cheers mate!! Stoked your enjoying the vids
@@TripInAVan by the way we tried that rocky road your mob tried in one of your previous vids and loved it. Gonna have to get another couple kits for the pantry. Lol
Pauls DIY Boredom Busters so yum hey!!!
I love how when trying to figure out where the kids get the ‘blaming each other’ from Justin was... blaming Bec 😂 so who do they really get it from Dad ! ( got your back Bec 😘😂)
😂😂😂
Its definitely true about putting your a/c on fresh air...we did Mt Augustus in August (haha!) had ours on fresh...another friend had it on recycle...it was soo dusty in their car!
Nice work guys - we always wanted to drag the Van up there and now we can thanks to you showing us the tips and tricks along the way.... Maybe if you can, at the end of the series put a map up showing the way you went... Great work guys look forward to the next Vid..
Phil Taylor thanks mate
Hi guys loving the vids. I convinced my wife to go on the first camping trip last month. I keep seeing her sneak in watching your vids 👌maybe we will see you soon 👍
David Noake 😂😂good stuff

Mate, you guys are going to save me a fortune!...I'm getting to see the great Aus without even leaving the front door! 😜 Another great vid to watch while chilling out this arvo, much appreciated guys! 👍😀🍻
Thanks mate, stoked you enjoyed it
Just sitting at Finch hatten, thought I would try Becs Idea of baby spuds in a can, in the Ziggy, she should be on master chef, fantastic they will now be a staple in the pantry. Thanks Bec 😉🤔
cookdm65 glad you enjoyed em mate!! Bloody good hey
bec is a great dancer andy
I'm in. Cape York should be on everyone's bucket list.
Safe travels gang.👍🍺
Thanks 👍
Enjoying your videos. Looking forward to part 2 of the cape. I’ve lived in Cairns for 19 years and still not been up there!!
Work Hard Travel More ya gotta get there 💪
Great vid looking at aaa air box for our 200 not worth the dusting risk. we are were up that way in Sept beautiful area enjoy. Compressor fridge and fan on our van keeps that dust out .Cheers Ian
Great videos, thanks guys. But one thing - when giving an apple to an animal, just stick it under your boot and crush it a bit - I've seen animals choke on whole apples.
True!! Good tip Thankyou
We usually drop our tires to about 35 psi all round and have never had a problem driving down the central Arnhem road. And we’ve driven that road about 7 to 8 times.
Jeremy Huckleberry nice
Awesome video. Very jealous right now. Enjoy guys.🤘🤘
@Justin surprised you don’t have yourself a set of tire deflators like the Staun Or Campboss ones. Makes deflating heaps quick and easy mate, check em out 👍
Davo yeah I’ve got em, but they are set to beach sand pressures👌
We did the tip from Melbourne 2 up on a motorbike it was fantastic 11,5000 km in total 😲
Fruit bat falls were my favourite ❤️
I have to say, you guys live in a wonderful life, good on you. thanks for shown us the outback when covid lockdown looks gona last another month here : (
Cheers mate
Wow you know your stuff! So beautiful seeing that area...it's my father's country and I've never been up further than Cooktown.
Those steaks had me droooling!
Rona S cheers💪
Awesome video, love the format. Check out the tyre inflation deflater that Ronny Dahl uses, does 2 tyres at a time to the same pressure regardless of load on the tyre
Always love the Sunday arvo chill with a coldie and watch an ep! Keep up the good work guys!!
Justin Krauss cheers guys
The snorkel filter needs the oil to catch the dust. Won't catch much dust without it.
Another great video, and about bloody time Justin, was only thinking the other day ,can't wait to see you guys again , keep em coming 👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
glad your back worried keep safe
Nice episode Guys!!! Love your work...So stocked you have the life we all dream of! God bless your travels and family life from here on in...
Thanks so much!!
Hey Justin grab yourself a tackle back lure retriever mate, BCF about $12 ,this thing has saved me hundreds of dollars in lures. Just get a string line from the hardware, (Concreter or brickies ) tie it on to the tackle back. All you do is clip it on to your fishing line and it slides down your line ,once you feel it hit your lure give it a couple yanks with the string line and free your lure. Works 90% of the time.. Great video too , love the drone footage 🤙.
I dont have a so much for holiday ,But I enjoy lot watching this video .👍 luck guys .take care .all the best .❤❤❤❤❤
Hi yes its an awesome trip i come from far nth qld we did trip to the Cape in June 1991 as it is alot cooler then.. Plus road was less travelled those days lol so had to rough it more 😂. But yeah you need a few weeks to really enjoy it totally.. Lived on tablelands n have done the hot air balloon ride, took family up as an easter Surprise 😂 in a basket.. Up north is heaven...great youtube channel guys 👍
Great vid guys as usual, just a hot tip get yourself a maxtrax indeflate. It does 2 tyres at once and obviously halves your time, and best thing you dont need to bend down to watch the gauge just hook it over car bull bar or the stone guard on van. Approx $200 i think but well worth it.
Look forward to your next vid, making us excited to do our trip next August.
Good way to spend a Sunday arvo👍
Enjoy legend
Only if you were there...LOL
What a great trip, looking forward to next video's, you guys have all the toy's. Landcruiser sounds great, very happy for you, dream car, dream van, dream everything. I am totally jealous........Be safe.......a few grey hairs there coming through the stubble..........hahaha..........
