It's important to note when listening to this song that Trippie is going through a time in his career where he has had multiple major commercial failures of his last couple albums, received terribly by even the majority of his hard-core fans after he was on top of the game for years.
I see this whole album with MGK as him trying to come to grips with the fact that he likely feels abandoned by his fans, and that maybe he has actually fallen off and took for granted the success he had and it may be coming to an end. I truly believe we are seeing him at his lowest in this project and not just some fake manufactured depression.
You have to think, he lost 2 of his best friends in Juice and X, and even PnB Rock were all murdered in the last several years. Then his music being absolutely ragged by even those most close to him.

i think some parts of the comment can be true, but mgk told trippie a lot of sentences to say for the songs, for exemple "lost boys" is entirely from mgk, trippie said they took more than 2 years to do the album so it's not like he's reaction to the "recent" hate on him, anyway the hate still affect both trippie and mgk, peoples don't realise their impact and that they can let someone in peace after, mgk had some issues but it was years ago now he's chilling stopping drugs little by little trying to educate his daughter and peoples still are mad about him, with time i think we have to forgive peoples and let them in peace and evolving into a better person especially when they're evolving into a better person already!
trip also lost many peoples but they were not famous so we never heard of them
trip is also living with a lot of his friends and everytime he react to peoples saying his musics are bad and that he felt off, he's saying that it's false, i think he's in a pretty good mental state rn
dude also cheated on his girl right before allty5 drop and seems to don't rly care bout it and having a baby on the way, most of his stuffs he keep it private tho
i think it's hard to tell when bro is really in a bad mental state and when he's just saying stuffs on songs just to say it
some of these songs were already made. ive heard the snippets for a LONG time already. Also its trippies fault for making ass music. He stopped trying since he got so much money. Have you seen how he makes music now? 50 blunts and off the top
music is subjective. people like you are the exact reason it's hard for mfs to open up about not being passionate abt sht anymore and jus seein it as a job and it's clear you do not understand that at all.
i hope you get better and don't feel the need to trash others on social media...everyone knows it only comes from a place of desperation and insecurity.

Never been to your channel but thank you for taking your time and giving this some actual appreciation and giving it what you had to offer as well. You took it very well. I guess coming into this video I wasn’t sure what to expect. But I Love that you love my favorite artists. Not just because I do. But because there’s defiantly a stigma anymore. And how some of my favorite artists land with certain people. Glad to see it shine on all different sides of the fence. And again the value you have to offer as well. There’s light and darkness in this song and in a lot of their music. A lot of people struggle to see the light through all the darkness in some of my favorite artist but I can tell you do. You asked “where does this come from?” And I’d have to say from personal experience, that I think that MGK is coming from a place of not really caring about “so many people” who think he matters if the one HE thinks matters does not want him back, and he’d rather not even be alive than to see her out with someone who is not HIM at art Basels (Art Basel being an art exhibit).
What you said is partially true, about how mental health is SO important. But I see it as an even deeper issue than the mental stuff. Trippie Redd’s part talked about not wanting to go out while living in a life of sin and I see the root of ALL of our problems is ALWAYS spiritual. What manifests in the physical is DEEPLY rooted in whatever is going on underneath it all in the spiritual.
So, If you have dead and rotten spiritual roots, it is going to affect the mental base of your life. Which will branch off into the emotional aspect of everything in life. Which then produces the rotten and dead fruit that manifests in our physical lives.
From very hard and personal experience, I realize now that the ONLY way to fix the physical and the emotional and the mental in one fell swoop is to go to the root and root out what is dead, and replace it with what is alive so that LIFE will grow in the rest of those areas.
As the HOLY Word of GOD says “Let all things be done decently and in order.”
And it is SO true.
Fix the spirit, and the rest will fall into place.❤️🔥🙏❤️🔥
I have to agree with you 💯🙌 on your interpretation of what he means about seeing her out. She broke his heart 😢and idk if she told him privately that they weren’t engaged anymore or if he found out in that podcast she went on just a few days prior! But I know this song is in relation to her. He’d rather not be alive than to see her with someone else. It’s DEFINITELY VERY HEARTBREAKING 💔 to hear. 😔🥺🥺🥺

I’ve been suicidal since 2018 and basically got worse in 2020 and I’ve been shoving it down and tryna ignore it, but it always comes back
I am so sorry for that...But even though it may seem impossible, you will get better, I promise. I also felt like I was in a hole I could not scape from, but eventually I did. Seek help, go to therapy, or do something that you know will make it better, please don't give up. It does get better. I send u all my strength❤🩹

When I heard the “blood shot, blue eyes” then the “I recorded TWO tonight” I had to think for a second as well… but the way I ended up interpreting that line once he then said “one was for all those I love, this one’s for the suic!de”, I felt like bloodshot symbolized those of which he loves, and blue eyes, to me, sounds like death (suicide) cause when you die you loose your color … it’s a stretch, but that was the connection I felt.
I feel exactly where this song is coming from rn , like I’m making the most money I ever had in my job , I got goals this year I wanna succeed financial wise but I’m unhealthy eating wise , I weight more than ive ever weighed my entire life and I feel awkward and bored all the time just drinking for no reason it’s depressing just need to get off my ass and go to the gym , I pay for a membership every month just need to do it everything is in my favour just need to do it

I think him talking about going back to the start is that he enjoy the grind and hustle to get where he is and the journey to get there is what made him happy being at the finish line just doesn’t have that reward atleast that’s how I interpreted it because that’s how I feel
I'm definitely been there,and I just had the strength to fight threw the current, not I have waves crashing down on me, it's hard to breath when it feels like the weight of my world keeps bringing me back down. 😕

Both MGK and Trippie Red have so much talent. This EP shows that. Both are misunderstood "lost boys" that took some wrong paths and lost some fans, have been through tough times etc. But their talent cannot be denied.
