@@ambarrivera6049 None of that unluckily, I worked on the shot prep department, very technical, nothing artistic T.T it was my first job ever hahaha I need to work harder so one day my name will appear in any of the art deparments credits :)

Woah that's amazing! Congratulations and great job! When I first watched Klaus, I absolutely fell in love with it! The music, the characters, the art; everything was amazing and perfectly balanced each other out. I'm gonna spill my guts here for a moment and just wanted to voice my thoughts on Klaus.
Now I've never celebrated Christmas for religious reasons but my friends and the shows/movies I've watched about Christmas always told me about the "Christmas Spirit." How it was magical and made everyone a better person. And you know, seeing them through my eyes and seeing their actions, I've never believed them. The "Christmas Spirit" was fake and something only used in movies.
First of all, I thought this movie was going to be a stereotypical Christmas movie where the "Spirit of Christmas" was going to save the day. In all honestly, up until the part where Margu sees that Jesper wasn't on the boat, I was EXPECTING some kind of "Christmas Spirit" bs to show up out of nowhere and save the day, but it never did. It just never showed up.
That typical "Christmas Spirit" wasn't there and it just made me love the movie even more. Why? Because the Christmas Spirit (at least to me) that was there was in the characters themselves and not in some weird, mystical magic that suddenly appeared out of nowhere and it's hard to explain this in a youtube comment where I'm literally typing everything that comes out of my head, but I found that very interesting.
Klaus and Jesper doing a SMALL act of giving one boy a gift and seeing it turn into an avalanche of events where everyone sheds the past and learn to accept each other was amazing and heart warming.
There's so many things I could say about this movie and how it changed my mind on Christmas that I wish I could say but can't find the words for.
All in all, the movie was beautiful. The characters felt so alive and real. The music was captivating and pulled me into the story. The art and animation (OH AND THE EXPRESSIONS!!!! I LOVED THEM!!! I can't imagine how long it took to animate that) was out of this world and beautiful! Klaus is amazing and it changed my mind on Christmas.

Klaus' story was unorthodox compared to other Christmas movies, but I liked it. It managed to keep the general theme of kindness and good, as well as explain the origin of some traditions-all while maintaining an original story. On top of that, it was a _very fluid_ 2D animated film, which nowadays are rare. So yeah, it was pretty nice, like this cover ;)

Apparently a lot of the people who worked on it (including the director) had worked on Treasure Planet, which was an animation marvel despite its lack of popularity. It was the second Disney film to use rotoscoping on CGI (the end credits of Tarzan being the first), with the entirety of the ship modelled in 3D then rotoscoped into 2D, and they had a 70/30 split of old/new and 2D/CGI.
You can really tell all the staff have honed their craft in the near 20 years since then, it's really beautiful. And as someone who grew up loving Treasure Planet, the unorthodox nature of Klaus' story reminds me a lot of TP's story. It's really just wonderful to see, especially in a Christmas film.

Yes, it's a great movie. Beautiful animation and strong characters all bundled up to tell a great story.
Yes! The story is quite different from most Christmas movies, in a good way. The animation is _really_ good, too. I highly recommend it.
