- This video is about Relaxing ASMR hair cut and blow-dry for Anxiety and PTSD. Today's video is unlike any on my channel and was created specifically for a friend I met at a trade show this year. We had an enlightening conversation about PTSD and the detailed hand movements that happen during my videos. Over the years I have people ask me to create ASMR videos that help with relaxation and falling asleep at night. So when I met Ronald I told him I had a great idea and I was going to make a video just for him. So this is Ronald Christmas present. Enjoy
My favorite part of the service is the blow out at the end of every haircut. I don’t allow any client to ever leave my salon with a wet head. before I ever pick up the blow dryer I use my hands to move the hair while the warm air blows through the strands evaporating the water into the air. During this portion of the service, I love to watch the strands of hair slide through the bristles of the brush. I pay careful attention to the ends of the hair and make sure my hair cut is even. If I see a section that has an uneven area I note that in my mind and when I am finished with the blow-dry I will pick up my scissors and perfect any imperfections.
As I begin my blow dry I don’t use a brush only my hands I want the client to feel as relaxed as possible. You won’t be able to hear my commentary over the sound of the blow dryer so before I begin I want to explain a few things for you to watch for. I move slowly and purposeful paying careful attention not to pull the hair or tug causing the head to move.
I want you to look closely at the stands of hair gliding through the bristles on the brush and tell me if you the symmetry I have created with my uneven edges. And I hope that you all realize that you can create something beautiful using not so perfect lines. I hope you enjoy the rest of the blow-dry and hope it helps you to relax and fall into a relaxing restful sleep.

62 year old, die hard follower. Unfortunately, I also am hearing impaired so am unable to hear what you are saying. Still watched and enjoyed. My son has PTSD, a very debilitating disorder for many of our veterans. He saw more than any one person should, and is paying the cost daily. Thank you for helping those who suffer

Hi! This reminded me of my late mom. She loved any of her children to go thru her hair just to relax.Sometimes for more than 30 minutes. I was the one to do it regularly.Thats why I know I was the favorite, lol. She loved it better than a gift or money.

I love this! My stylist is on the down on the corner of my block. I like to go down and have my hair washed and braided every couple weeks or so, just to relax. I love people's hands in my hair! It's very soothing and shakes the bad right out of my day! OH and you are a hair stylist too? What can't you do?!

My mom is a retired cosmetologist. She had 3 kids. And worked while she was pregnant with each one of us. The sound of the blow dryer put us to sleep when we were little. Most likely from hearing it in utero. Now all 3 of us as adults can’t fall asleep without the sound of a fan blowing. When my hair stylist blows my hair dry I get sleepy. Lol. ASMR in utero too! 😴🤰✂️

Honestly I’ve been listening to this lately and this has been helping with my ptsd episodes a lot- it grounds me and it’s so calming and calms my brain/memories & overthinking- I just lay in the bathtub and listen to this until the memories goes away and it helps so much I love the blow dryer parts ❤️🌼 so thank you a lot
Q: how do I politely tell a hair stylist that I want to forgo the small talk and just sit in silence?
I think finding a stylist that's not too chatty would be important. I used to quiet most of the time when I was behind the chair. But maybe something like "I'm not feeling chatty today, is it possible to have a quiet haircut without too much talking?" I think if someone would have told me this, I would have not found it "rude". Just remember that stylists usually want to make you feel comfortable so don't be afraid to say something about wanting a silent cut. If you're polite and they seem to have a problem with it, find someone else. I think stylists go into chit chat mode because 90% of the time clients expect us to talk to them. So it's ok to let them know that you're the quiet type. Don't worry too much about it and good luck!

Gigi, maybe she's not the stylist for you. My clients always talked a lot and I got the feeling it was a therapy session for some of them as weird as that sounds but I also knew the ones who weren't as talkative. I'm not sure there's a polite way to tell her/him to stop small talk.
@@justpeachy2738 Absolutely true. If you, as the stylist, can not feel the mood the client is in than she/he isn't the one for you.. It is one of those things that a hairstylist just has to learn in the time of training and if that hasn't been done or the hairstylist just does not have that in their system, please do yourself a favor and just shop around until you find a matching stylist that you find does your hair the way you want it plus doesn't cross that line out of themself.
I have searched for years one myself, me even being a hairstylist.
It can be even years before you find it, I know all about that

The one thing I miss about doing hair is the haircut! I loved how you could make someone look better but they felt relieved after a haircut! I never used a brush in the begging of a dry, especially with children. This was actually Great!

Lori, can I give you a tip? If you turn that big bristle brush whilst slowly turning it towards you, you polish the hair and give the hairs a beautiful silky glow 😊 Because that bristle brush is known as a silky bristle brush and they are also in a wooden variety with different kinds of thickness and those are even for a more silky smooth finish. The turning of the brush between your thumb and pointer finger is training and training but the final finish is so stunning beautiful and the hairs will shine and look so healthy.. You already are doing it but I would do it from the roots till the tip of the hairs, keep on rolling and rolling. 😊
