Great shop and nice video! I too have an L2900 GST, next to the word reliable in the dictionary should have a picture of this tractor. I purchased mine new and aside from some maintenance it's never let me down despite years of hard work and 1100 hours. Last week I rebuilt my power steering cylinder and replaced the hoses, the seals were dried out and it was leaking. I'm sure at some point I'll be replacing other seals and I'll refer to your videos!
This is my third Kubota. The first was a tiny 13hp with a backhoe and the second was a 1501 grey market straight from the rice paddy in Japan that had mud in both front steering knuckles and water in the transmission. Neither one ever faltered. I’m glad you liked the video.
Great Video! I have an L3901 that I need to change the rear seal on and couldn't figure out the 2 piece seal but you made it very clear. Thanks for being here!
Great to have a good shop! A little toaster oven would do a great job of heating up tight parts so they slip on easier. Would it make sense to also replace the bearings while everything was apart?
Lots of bearings to replace, at least three per side on the rear just in the housings, and all were big ones. Hundreds of $$$ for all six. I considered it but chose not to after feeling how smooth they all were
the bearing just outboard the big bull gear? And you’ve used a puller…I mean a proper puller? My “puller” was the wrong tool for the job and I acknowledge I was lucky the bearing came free. If even a puller made for this job doesn’t work the bearing may need to be cut off. You might want to try heat onto the inner bearing race but that has risks of damaging everything around it. Sorry, I don’t know other options.
Wow it’s leaking all around.. did you use Traveler brand Hydraulic fluid? Great Job by the way showing the complete removal and replacement of the seal.
The leak at the PTO output must not have been from the seal, there has been no discernible weeping after I washed it so I didn't change that one. I did use Traveller brand from Tractor Supply, plain UDT.
@@madebyjnd sir I am now convinced that traveler hydraulic fluid caused two leaks on my L3010 one on hydraulic steering cylinder and left rear axle seal.

Excellent Job, I like to see old guys (like myself) fixing things the right way. Keep up the good work
Thanks 👍

i cant get the first bearing off, even with a gear puller. any idea or tricks to remove it without destroying it?

I hope not! No leaks yet after nine months.
Did you have to drain all of the hydraulic fluid from the tractor first?
Well, all but the engine oil. All the seals I replaced are at the lowest points of the front and rear drivelines.
Very helpful video. God bless
Glad it was helpful!
Nooice! 😎 STOC

I did a video on breaking an International Harvester 254 in half to work on the clutch, maybe it would give some insight?
@@madebyjnd Nooice! Thank you for that, I will definitely check it out when I can...I'm about to start soon.
