  • @Knives47
    @Knives47 2 дні тому

    Cutting £40k a year would take 65 years to be equivalent to getting £50,000/week off the wage bill for one year. The small cuts being made mean nothing in comparison so the players wages. Nothing. That's why fans have an issue with it. It's huge upset and bad PR for almost zero gain.

    Its almost 18 months. This Glazers ownership many people dont know that it was deliberate by the premier league to set United back in order to maintain the competitive Balance of rhe league if not United were far richer and bigger than any club in the league from the 90s to the early 2000 they could have grown and monotonous the league if they were given a Neutral owner who is not Rich but dont take money out of the club and make right decisions on players.imagine the Glazer ownership has cost United over 3 billion in 19 years the club is still paying the Glazers debt,they have Majority share they take dividend out they sign rubbish players yet they never put their own money who does that?

      You can’t be serious 😂 sports are cyclical. If you look back far enough all clubs go through highs & lows. Liverpool squandered their advantage in the 90s IN THE EXACT SAME WAY United have over the last 10 years. United squandered their money fair & square by signing “name” players for way more than they’re worth.

    Most fans of this club just don't get it at all. They see us as a big club (which we are) so they can't compute that we have a mid-table team. Every time a new coach comes in they start talking about "top 4" and then go into crisis, blaming the new owners and coach when we still look sh*t... The players were recruited by an incompetent boardroom for 15 years, the same people who saddled the club with £600m in debt which has never, ever gone down and restricts everything the club does. Those investment bankers were running the club (Ed Woodward & Matt Judge), signing random big name individuals but never building a TEAM because they didn't know how to and gave managers no power. That is our problem... Every player at United is playing for themselves, but their game doesn't fit with their team mates. It's incoherent and broken.
    Garbage players were signed to huge wages on long contracts so we've been stuck with some of them for years, stinking the place out. That continued right until ETH's last season... But again, fans think you "just get rid of them!". Sure, you take a massive bath on all these players (nearly a whole team), pay off their contracts or pay their massive wages on loan and magically still have enough money to buy new elite-level players, all while complying with FFP?... These people are living in fairy land.
    Fact is, it is going to take a couple of years of huge transfer windows to undo 'some' of that damage. INEOS haven't done much wrong, they went and got the best in class for recruitment, they went and got one of the best young coaches in world football, they're making very unpopular decisions to cut costs at the club... Now fans have to just buckle up, accept the pain and let the club get rid of these players one-by-one. There are no quick fixes to ANY of our problems.
    That comment was a longer than I intended but there is no quick answer when people just don't 'get' why United are in the sh*t.

    • @RgjDj1878
      @RgjDj1878 3 дні тому

      Absolutely correct. Man United should of been done already with FFP but the league let them off because of the two tier system that’s in place. Soon United won’t be able to hide the money issue.” And FFP will bight them hard.

    Jason Cundy is spot on when he compared INEOS to BlueCo. Under Eghbali and Boehly, Chelsea endured heavy criticism in the first two seasons of their ownership, particularly from Rory, who was very vocal about his concerns. Only recently has he admitted he got it wrong about Maresca and BlueCo. While the initial period brought short-term pain, the long-term strategy is starting to bear fruit under Maresca's management.
    Manchester United are now undergoing a similar process, but theirs looks significantly worse. Unlike Chelsea, who have excelled at offloading unwanted players, United have been hopeless in generating decent value from player sales. For context, in BlueCo's first year, Chelsea made £203 million from player sales, followed by £153.3 million in the second year. United, however, have failed to capitalize on the market in the same way.
    The question remains whether INEOS can replicate what BlueCo achieved at Chelsea. The transformation at Chelsea under BlueCo has been stark. In the Abramovich era, their recruitment was focused on players who could deliver immediate results. Take the 2014/15 season: after narrowly missing out on the title the year prior, largely due to the lack of a reliable goal-scoring striker (Ba, Eto'o, and Torres scored just 19 league goals between them), Chelsea responded by signing Diego Costa and Cesc Fàbregas. Both players were instant successes, helping Chelsea win the title that season.
    In their first full season under BlueCo (2022/23), Boehly took a hands-on approach to transfers, bringing in high-profile players like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (whom Tuchel personally wanted), Raheem Sterling, and Kalidou Koulibaly, alongside younger talent like Carney Chukwuemeka and Wesley Fofana. However, despite the significant spending, Chelsea endured a disastrous season, finishing in 12th place in the Premier League-its worst result in decades. The managerial instability, highlighted by the mid-season sacking of Tuchel and the hiring of Graham Potter, contributed to Chelsea's struggles, leading to heavy criticism of the transfer strategy. When Potter was replaced by Frank Lampard as interim manager much to the fans delight, things only got worse. Lampard, despite his legendary status at Chelsea, struggled to turn the team's fortunes around, and his brief tenure saw more poor results, continuing Chelsea’s downward trajectory.
    But with the later appointments of sporting directors Paul Winstanley, Laurence Stewart, and Joe Shields, Chelsea shifted focus towards long-term, strategic signings like Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, and Moisés Caicedo. These players, with their long contracts and lower wages, represent a new direction for the club, and Chelsea’s wage bill has been reduced by 50% under BlueCo. Though Pochettino’s tenure was short-lived, the groundwork for improvement was laid out with a clear strategy moving forward.
    United, by contrast, seem mired in poor transfer decisions, compounded by a lack of long-term planning. Players like Antony (£80 million) and Casemiro (£70 million) were signed for significant sums but are unlikely to fetch anywhere near their original fees if sold. Even Rashford, who has reportedly been frozen out under Amorim, may struggle to generate substantial interest.
    In short, while Chelsea endured their fair share of turbulence under BlueCo, they now appear to be on the right track. Enzo Maresca's arrival from Leciester to be the new Chelsea boss, was faced early doubts and criticism, but it has shown significant improvement, forcing some to admit their initial misjudgments, a story that mirrors Chelsea’s trajectory. United’s challenges, however, are compounded by deeper structural issues, and it remains to be seen if INEOS can emulate BlueCo’s success.

    It’s not just 40,000…. Jesus. Venue, staff, security, insurance, catering, transport, accommodation, guest speakers, table gifts.. My calculation suggest over 100,000 easily.
    No business should pay bonuses when it’s failing….
    High profile positions (directors, managers…), players costs come out of a different pot from operations/day to day positions..
    Re the stadium if you can why wouldn’t you try to get the government to pay? We are bleeding money and every avenue needs to be explored! It’s all consistent behavior.
    I don’t know why everyone is crying and why emotional radio presenters get to compound these necessary actions negatively.
