I always find it interesting that no one mentions Ashaway Monogut Pro 17 in discussions about arm friendly string. This has a stiffness index closer to natural gut than to a traditional poly. Not technically a poly (its Zyex) and quite a powerful string. Use it in a hybrid with a shaped poly cross & it plays close to a gut/poly cross with gut in the crosses. Add at least 10% tension compared to a poly tho & be very careful when tying the knots.

I play with poly/multi hybrids to help with elbow pain these days. I do like Lynx Touch, Big Hitter Black 7, Tour Bite Soft. I think its just as important to avoid "dead/muted" polys. They seem to cause me to overhit and mess up my arm.
Everyone wants feel, tension maintenance, comfort, spin and price and you can't have it all. I've settled on Hyper-G.
what about head rip control? has everything though a multi
I went with Hyper G Soft. No discomfort. Was my second poly after RPM Blast. Love the spin of poly, but not the feel. Ended up with Gamma Hybrid Moto and Glide combo.
MSV Swift is one of the better choices. Or Focus Hex +38. Head Lynx 120, Kirschbaum Flash Orange, Decathlon Artengo TA 930 Spin and Weiss Cannon Red Ghost are some others that are very comfortable.
I actually think PTP and element are good recs by Harry. Maybe hyper g soft in a thinner gauge as well. But hyper g soft is actually pretty stiff. Your recommendations are really good. I really like Head lynx 1.20. I think lynx is like ptp

This string is garbage in Clash but amazing in Pro Staff
try head rip control 16. it is a multi but is the most durable of all the multi's. has good spin good power great control, cheap and super comfortable. it has to be the best string overall pound for pound.

I've been very happy with Grapplesnake Tour M8 and, especially, Alpha, both in 1.25 at 45lbs. Very good all round, imho.
I think most sufferers of elbow issues would benefit from using (poly) string tension in the mid 40s and under, if they're not already.
Kirschbaum Flash is a great value and soft playing poly as is head lynx as well very similar to Yonex poly tour pro but both hold their tension better than PPT
Technifibre red code , Tier One Firewire boost, Kirschbaum Super Smash Orange, Pro Supex Big Ace(white), Dunlop Explosive Red/Silk, Volkl cyclone tour, Golden set grapple snake (black)
are just a few of the softer polys that I like and have tried extensively (17g) ... most you can find well $9-15.. usually
inexpensive, decent durability, will have a noticeable drop off in tension around 2hrs but it stays .. recommended to be strung 8% above desired tension (max 55lbs)
harry can you do a video about the under rated head rip control multi string.
in my experience of trying multiple strings head rip control is the far away ahead winner. it is the most durable of multi filaments i hit hard and dont break them for at least 2-3 months which is amazing durability for a multi
plus it has good power, spin great control and cheap like only $9 per set. compared vs babolat xcel which is 40% more expensive it is clear winner. plus comfy
the only draw backs are compared to other multi's it is slightly under powered but vs a poly power wise it is negligible but of course a poly has more spin but you cant have eveything
head velocity is great but doesnt compare to head rip control
try it and you'll see what i mean and try to get coach gu and co to break the strings i imagine it'll last more than a few hours of their hard hitting
2x tennis elbow sufferer. My new Head Speed MP is perfect with 17 or 18 gauge poly but breaking too soon. Only msv swift has been recommended?
Luxilon Element as far as I know is a Polyester !!! Luxilon calls it a polymer, but they do that for ALU Power as well and it’s just their marketing name. But Element is a CoPoly that has few strands of Nylon? in the core but it’s 95% poly. TW and all online retailers list it under Polyester and as long as I’ve been selling it, I sold it as a soft Poly.
Others to consider :
Head Lynx, Head Sonic Pro, Yonex Polytour Air, Genesis Black Magic.
But remember, soft poly does not equal arm friendly!! As long as the sting is primary a monofilament, it transmits more vibration and hurts the arm. Only Multifilament strings have vibration dampening properties. Softest mono at 50 lbs is exactly the same as stiff mono at 35 lbs, same effect on arm!!!

VS touch/ RPM blast combo is the best Ive used. Super soft , great tension maint. So good

@@ngocdai94 use head rip control it offers everything in a multi and the most durable of all them. you wont need to switch to poly if you break strings easily cos head rip control lasts ages i only break them every 2 to 3 months with hard hitting 10 hours a week
I string at 50- watched just now Lux element rough 1.30 or regular 1.25 or element soft IR?
Volkl Cyclone in a 1.15 gauge at 23kg soft and very nice
Volkl Cyclone Tour is probably the softest poly string on the market. Pretty sure Harry doesn't sell Volkl in the shop.
Yes, nice and soft string although I found it didn't last that long.

Try a ole school Pro Kennex 98 w/17 gauge AB NO NONE ZIP NADA VIBRATION did i say NONE? Killer racquet too... Also PK built the Rod Laver autograph Abercrombie Fitch T racquet, i have 2 in PERFECT nearly unused condition, AB INSANE hitting tools..The 98 Pro Kennex, is black n has a slitly wider body n weighs slitly more, the Rod Laver is white and is light as a feather..
Pros pro cyber powe is a nice affordable soft poly.

Instead of using a full bed of soft poly, its better to use a hybrid with multifilament in the mains, and poly crosses

I recently bought a Klippermate and I am getting ready to string my very first rackets. Any recommendations on string to practice/learn with?
Any cheap synthetic gut. My first few string jobs I cut them out anyway before stringing it with a string I actually wanted to play with.
The problem with poly is it stretches so far then stops stretching, but it still lasts ages after being stretched. Hence it might start off arm friendly but when it's stretched out it stops being so friendly. If you just use a string till it breaks then you'd be better off with a multi.
How about Ytex? They are advertising their strings to be the softest on the market.
And the strings you recommend are all made of unobtainium, is there some hidden sponsoring involved?

I am surprised no one mentioning Isospeed strings. Isospeed Cream is probably on the softest poly out there.
Diadem Pro X, I’m telling you, it works.
I switched from hyper g to hyper g soft and saw a difference right away, and then one day i used the normal one for a day and the pain came back immediately, never again
No volkl strings? They have a great reputation for arm friendly polys.
Been using Volkl cyclone tour 17 for a littles less than a year at 51 pounds. Good spin, good control, good feel, good comfort, good durability, good price. Not great in any category but solid overall.
Been playing with Volkl V Square in 18 gauge for two years now. Not the greatest in durability but very soft for a poly with players looking for bump up in spin potential.
@@brianthomas-pc4hu use v vsquare myself and l am pretty happy with it. Lots of spin and decent durability. I use 19g and it doesn't really break but l refresh somewhat frequently as l prefer the feel of fresh strings. Previously used v torque and v torque tour but preferred v square.

head rip control would be the best im surprised noone mentions it for a multi. overall it has to be the best. most durable, comfortable, cheap, good spin good power great control. only downside is maybe little under powered compared to other multis
If one already has tennis elbow, why continue or even want to switch to poly, which is known for rough on the arm?

My multis were lasting less than 6 hours at the best. At twice the cost and half the duration, it was worth trying!
Don't have it anymore. Used to have it when using stiffer racquets. So trying to prevent from coming back while having fun learning and experimenting with different strings.

I only used once Yonex Poly Tour Pro, after almost a year using Volkl Cyclone Tour. Bought the Yonex because I ran out of the Volkl, had them at the shop, price was half of that in TW and stringing job had a 33% discount if strings bought with them (first time I strung it with them).
I definitely did not like the string. Right off the bat the elbow started hurting. Wanted to give it a shot, loosen the strings and see if it helped, it didn't until I played some 6 hours. String has lots of power at least compared to the Volkl, but much less feel and control. After the 6 hrs it stopped hurting and then it was a decent powerful string. It did break at around the 12th hour, 1.3mm (never have broken the Volkl at 1.25 nor Alu Power). Perhaps it was the stringer machine being different to my standard go to, but I'm definitely not planning on buying it again. Around 4.5 player here.
Smart is a horrible string.
After 10 years of poly, I told myself last month "fuck it - I'm just going nat.gut mains, whatever poly cross".
Best tennis decision I've ever made. Regret I waited this long to do it.

Great string. I use it in the PD plus strung at 54.5. I am a 4.5 player . Also tried hybrid VS on mains, Triax on cross at 54.5.

@@elchanclascocina i am not a sting breaker anymore. i get 16 to 25 hours. The mains break first ie the VS or Triax. I also played with Head MLT and that lasted a little longer. BTW I am playing on a hard court that is very smooth. If i were on hartru or clay it would probably mean restringing every month at best. hope this helps

Wilson Revolve is a great option for a poly that is soft and great for spin. Doesn’t break the bank either.

Hyper g soft is not soft. Solinco strings even soft are a main cause of the tennis elbow. Never had it until I started to use hyper g. Even soft version causes tennis elbow.

I agree. Soft "dead, muted" polys can still cause problems. Hyper G soft tears my arm up. Tour Bite Soft was actually more comfortable.
