@@VintageVariety My husband offered me much of them for Christmas or wedding anniversary ,;this year in august 5 we will have golden wedding, perhaps some pearls? !!
Hey there hun! Saw that you subscribed to my channel. So I'm over here sharing the love! Happy to be a part of your family. Sorry I'm a little backed up on my comments. If you left one I will surely get to it! Let's see what this is about! I'm very interested already! Love to play catch up on channels I'm new to! ❤️🙏👍🎉
I inherited my mother’s jewelry recently, she had several strands of pearls. They are quite dirty, I didn’t know how to clean them, was afraid I would damage them. Thank you so much for the tips.
Thank You for sharing your knowledge! I took my black light into my jewelry case to look at my pearls I am a little confused though because I have a Napier necklace that I'm pretty sure is plastic pearls very lightweight and doesn't feel like my real pearls but it glowed just like all my real pearls did.
They could have used ground-up Pearl in the coating outside of the glass ball or plastic ball whatever they were using for the fake Pearl that way it would test positive as a pearl or glow as a pearl
@@VintageVariety that's the fun part it's like we're all jewelry detectives and we're sharing our knowledge with each other this is a wonderful Community growing up I was known as The Jewelry Lady
It works great on pearls but it is not the only test for them I use. Often faux pearls with a fish scale coating will glow also. I usually use the UV light first and if they glow, I then examine them to determine if they are real pearls. Thank for watching!❤️
I'd love to see a video showing a variety of different types of pearls as you did here but more detail on types if possible. Your channel is is a good source for me for eying the antique and vintage jewelry types I have yet to find 😊.
@@VintageVariety thank you for your reply. Can you tell me about their quality, I want to purchase a double strand Grey/ mint green pearl necklace ... they have the logo Perla elegancia" . What would you said is a good selling price ? Thank you for your advise . 🙏
@@gabrielabaires4788 prices can vary greatly and range anywhere from $15 on up to $120 depending on the condition, length, etc. Majorca pearls are good quality but they are not real pearls. They are high quality imitation pearls.
@@VintageVariety oh ok. I paid 164 $ for double strand black/ green perles necklace . I think now I paid too much , but they are pretty and a very good condition. 👍 thank you for the info. Have a wonderful day 😊

That is quite odd! I’ve never seen that before. Perhaps they’re majolica? Often majolica pearl will do that.
They could have used ground-up Pearl in the coating outside of the glass ball or plastic ball whatever they were using for the fake Pearl that way it would test positive as a pearl or glow as a pearl
That’s a definite possibility. I agree.❤️❤️❤️
