      I actually think it's to do with casting off the restraints of your reality, understand how much society shapes your views on literally everything, and consistently ask yourself the questions "why is this like that, how is that functioning like that". The hows and the whys, or just being curious in general leads to internal dialogues such as "ok but what if...?" and then a concept forms from that. Spend more time daydreaming and get the hell off of social media- the creativity killer.

    Thank you for explaining this so well! I personally feel that the skill of creativity goes way beyond what people normally call, "Talent". Personally I've loved drawing ever since I was a kid, but that creativity to put things together to create an artwork that truly reflects YOU is something that I started developing only 2 years ago. And it's made me feel SO GOOD about my works! I still have a long way to go & to gain popularity as an artist, but I'm glad that I'm creative enough to figure it out & work my way through

    Thoughts before video: Been feeling lately like I’m simply not a creative enough thinker to be an artist. A lot of times I can’t just have a cool idea or concept, I gotta look for inspirations and references. For a lot of things. Back in highschool when we would be given prompts to draw, unless I was interested, I couldn’t think of anything cool, somewhat unique or anything really. And even now I started doing a little graphic design work and I never have a vision of what I want to do, I just put things together until it looks good. Feels aimless, and not like a really creative thinker.

      The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 1:9)
      There is nothing wrong with using references. There is nothing we truly own. I hate to say it, but AI has also addressed this issue as well. I'm personally not a fan of this technology, but the way it recomposes its resources isn't that different from humans. We also just take samples from things we are interested in, copy art styles from artists we like, and so on. We are slowly creating our own by stealing from others. There is even a famous book called “Steal like an Artist”, so it's basically an open secret. It's definitely an interesting debate going forward concerning what we call “intellectual property”.

    Ah, true spoken words. Unfortunately recently the conversations around AI art completely killed any will for me to keep being creative since in 5/6 years every single logo or picture will be AI generated. Music and writing probably too. I just want to end this decade long chapter of my life and move on since it's a waste of time that won't feed me or my soul. But if the future is bright and this will stabilise maybe I will recover that huge pool of happines coming from being creative and improving at my craft.

    • @Macks-bc1gg
      @Macks-bc1gg Рік тому +11

      I don’t think that will be the case. For art you need to be creative. AI isn’t creative. It just can make results with things you input to it. That’s not creativity. An AI is not able to "think outside of the box".

    • @thunderwatch8463
      @thunderwatch8463 Рік тому +8

      AI is definitely a gamechanger, but I think its capabilities are really being overestimated. I think once all the dust settles, it's going to be more of a tool for artists than a replacement.

    • @sansvoix1035

      The world will ALWAYS need artists. Even for AI art. I do not know if this is true for all forms of AI art but how I learned it works is that it has a database of art and photography. To create its art, it simply pulls from this database. AI cannot create without the art it is pulling from existing in the first place. We need humans in order to create art. Period. AI art would not exist if artists weren't out here whipping their art up. I guess my argument here is that AI art is "art" but nowhere near the same category as "art" that is made by humans since it RELIES on us artists in order for it to "create". And as the above comment said, AI cannot be creative in the way a human is creative. Therefore, the world will always need artists.

      Not to dismiss, but I’ve always found this sentiment to be really weird. I only started to learn how to draw and produce art this month and I’m doing it for me, no one else. So what if AI (which is being vastly overestimated) kills some jobs. If you make something unique that people like and want then there you go. Don’t let AI kill your passion.
