    We are a country for 1000 years almost, and now we are selling our land and houses for the highest bidder, and usually outsiders. Portugal is great, but not for the average portuguese. Shame.

      But this happened in every country, here in the Netherlands the Russian and East European crime syndicates bought up half the city of Amsterdam after the collapse of the Berlin wall.

      @@fs5775 Indeed there are new measures in place, but the foundational problems will remain, as construction takes time and it only there is incentive to build for high class payers, and transportation to the suburbs is still struggling, which doesn't facilitate people moving in and out of the city for commuting to work.

    SOLD on Lisbon and you know that J and K!!! So, rents gave definitely gone up and the RE market is tight now...We are so lucky we bought when we did(June 2022)! Prices are on the rise, but still affordable especially compared to France where we came from! If you look around and do your research Lisbon is still affordable!! ❤Lisbon/Portugal

    I feel it like a really useful and nice conversation but it's sooo hard to watch with this style of editing! I mean, we can imagine how a person travels you shouldn't show an airport! This is so annoying to switch between the conversation and some random stock video. Please, don't save this style.

      Hi, thanks for the feedback. We're not sure what you mean by "don't save this style", because this has been our style for a while now. We hope to one day get to the point where we can do 100% of action b-roll of the interviewee, until then, this is what we do. - Josh

    Lisbon is still worth it for us. When we moved here in 2021 the rental cost was about 20% more then we expected but we did find an ideal furnished apartment so no complaints. Other than rents Lisbon is no more expensive then other areas in Portugal. We don't have a car and Lisbon is ideal for that way of living which offsets the rents in our opinion. We keep an eye out for when rents will be too expensive to justify staying here before looking elsewhere. Our landlord only increased this year's rent by 6 euros a month. Hoping that falls in line for subsequent years so we do not have to move.

    With respect to housing, is the pricing a bubble with an imminent potential to burst?

    • @ExpatsEverywhere
      @ExpatsEverywhere  Рік тому

      It's really hard to say. Experts say yes, but so called experts have been wrong before. There were a lot of predictions during 2020-2022 there would be a leveling off in prices due to covid but that didn't happen in many areas of the country as prices continued to rise. - Josh & Kalie

      @@victorbehar804 thanks for sharing. Yeah, you never know. Buying right is certainly key to avoiding being under water.
