- El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is releasing on the Nintendo Switch. Was it worth while porting this old 360/PS3 game? Is it worth buying a physical copy? Links below!

I was surprised at the release of this. I thought it was fun back then. Next up, a release of 3D Dot Game Heroes? 😁😁😁
This is what games should be like. I mean in terms of the level of artistic direction (not necessarily the actual aesthetics). I'll try to get it although I already have both the XBOX 360 and PS3 version... this just has to look lovely on the Switch o.o
I did order this one from Limited Run. Excited to actually get it months from now......
I have the PS3 version of this. It's like a water-colored GOD OF WAR if you asl me. But still, I am having fun with this game. I would likely be getting this one. The downside is that I missed the ASIAN VERSION of this release, sadly.
Really like the "set design" on this... It's got a distinct style that stands out from the crowd
And I'm with you on the simplified controls Jordan, honestly I thought the SNES had to many buttons when I first played it!
It's a bit too bare-bones and simplistic gameplay-wise I think, but it's definitely playable. Not a must-buy, but an interesting one to show/share.
I played this game on release (on 360), enjoyed it immensely and I own it on PS3 now for the collection. I will say that the game does kind of drop some unexpected surprises later on, a few one off levels/segments that I really enjoyed. If you see yourself getting bored, stick with it, since it's usually not long before something new happens either aesthetically or mechanically. Def need to grab this eventually when I can afford it.
I bought a copy for the PS3 a few months ago from a used game store but haven't had a chance to try it out yet. It does look like an interesting spin on the hack 'n' slash formula so I'm looking forward to checking it out at some point.
The link for the Asian physical doesn’t seem to work, are you sure this was ever a thing? Oh well, got the Japanese version instead.
I bought the ltd edition! I remember this game not to be incredible on ps3 but for sure it was completely out there.... soo psychedelic!
How does the performance compare to the ps3 version?
I had ordered the LRG version a good while back. I heard of it but never played it before

I have this one Xbox 360 and completed it, and there seems to be nothing new in the Switch version, it looks pretty much identical I think, so right now I would not buy it but maybe if it's on sale for 20 bucks or something someday.

If you plan on keeping the 360 (or other compatible console) you don't really need to as far as I can tell.
Played it on Steamdeck and the Switch version is better.

@@LUNCHMONEY4numbers the steam version is not recent, the graphics, the music, the performance all are topnotch on Switch Lite.
Many discredit Switch, but my opinion is, it is not the machine but the Devs. Games like Xenoblade Chronicels 3, Hogwarts Legacy and Megaton Musashi Wired proof that the Switch is still a great machine. Just look at Eiuyden 100 heroes, the Devs messed up the Switch version.
