Thank you for all the help, knowledge and power you have given your people like me. You have truly made me feel like I have some type of control and hope over my symptoms now, It’s an uphill battle but It’s one I can now fight. Do you have any recommendations for a dentist like you in the Chicago are?
Great advice. I am suffering from tension headache I'm getting a tmj orthotic made next week. And I have been diagnosed with mild to moderate sleep apnea and already have a sleep apnoea splint. Thank you
This is so good! I have been looking at additional treatments on top of my cpap. I am not quite sure I have TMJ, but do you think using a TMJ orthotic would still be helpful for people with obstructive sleep apnea? I know for sure now I have bad tongue posture.
Hi Doc Priya! I love and appreciate your videos. Have any of your TMD patients experienced hypersalivation? It’s an uncommon symptom that only a few people experience. Do you know how to treat it?
Doctors told me my sleep apnea was so severe and my nose/throat area was so narrow, that a MAD would never suffice. I used CPAP for a whole year. What an absolute indescribable nightmare. Imagine how much distress sleep apnea can bring to your life. Triple that from the problems brought about by using CPAP. I asked my dentist for a night guard as I grind my teeth. He made a MAD for me. Now my sleep apnea is perfectly treated, completely opposite what my expert sleep apnea doctor told me. I wish I had the bravery to try out MAD first... Hope you guys will too. If it works, it works.
Hello Dr Priya, I need a TMJ Orthotic and I am based out of Houston. Can you pls suggest a good TMJ doc in Houston area that you can recommend for the Orthotic? Thanks so much,
I went to Craniofacial center for TMJ problems I've been having. They never had me wear a TMJ orthotic. They had me go straight to using a Mandibular Advancement Device, how can I tell if TMJ orthotic was built into it?
Can you please provide references for dentist that use similar methods to you in Denver? None of the dentists in my area seem to know how to treat TMJ properly.
Dr as a child i always had very defined features and jaws as i grew older i developed tmj problems ( clicking and popping ) in the left side of my jaw and slowly crept to the right side as well because of this I am suffering from a recessed chin and lower jaw i told my dentist about this and he made me a night guard ( altho i dont clenching my teeth out of habit ) through research i have found that the recession in my face has occurred from bending of the condyles ( which my mouth guard worsened ) also to add that after the mouth guard was out into place i have developed the habit of clenching my jaw subconsciously can you please tell me what to do to stop and fix this recession of the chin mandible and ramus note to add that i have a wide palate and breathe through my nose your advice on how i can straighten my condyles and stop the recession of the lower jaw will be much appreciated

I have been experiencing all problems that you have mentioned Since 2020 but I don't know where to get treatment. If possible I would like to receive treatment from you. But I am from India 😮💨
when i was around 12 my dentist (not even an orthodontist) decided to remove a set of my upper premolars because he thought that my face didn't have enough room. this essentially recessed the front half of my upper teeth but left the molars in a normal position. now obviously to avoid having a massive underbite, my orthodontist then shifted my entire mandible backwards with bands so that my front teeth would line up, but now my lower molars are further back than my upper molars. i'm 26 and just recently rnoticed that my jaw naturally wants to return to its forward position and i've been pulling it back manually since i was a child basically. this has caused me innumerable health problems as i'm sure you can imagine. is there any way to extend my front teeth back outward and make room for premolar implants so that my mandible can return to its natural position or am i just screwed?
Mam i have tmj from 1.5 years now and i forgot my tongue rest position and I have been placing my tongue on the upper palette from 1.5 year but recently i visited another dentist because previous treatment doesnt reduce my pain now recent dentist told me to open the mouth wide then stick the tongue to the upper paletter but at the end of the palette then close the mouth slowly and then your tongue naturally rest on the lower side behind the teeth and thats your proper tongue position so is it good position or not please tell me??????? I am from INDIA
It's hard to find a good sleep apnea doctor, a lot of them I don't trust it just seems like they don't have the attention to detail, their answers don't seem nuanced or the level of care is not taken holistically in a way that makes me trust them. Their answers are way too black and white in my experience with the ones I went to.
Thankyou doctor for the information.. Your information made my doubts and curiosity clear....

Yes it could be, depending on your symptoms.

No im sorry I don’t have a solution for this!

I’m sorry, but I don’t know anyone there.
Doc where are you located? Do you know any great TMJ/Holistic approaches in Westchester New York area?
I’m sorry but I don’t know anyone there. I’m in Vancouver, Washington - near Portland, Oregon.
Doc Priya, how do we know if a splint is working or well made?
@@Lexweecon that must be assessed by an experienced TMJ dentist. But a rule of thumb is that if it’s helping you to feel better, it’s likely working.
Hi Doc,
Can all this orthotics affects your bite?
Yes they can!
I went to Craniofacial center for TMJ problems I've been having. They never had me wear a TMJ orthotic. They had me go straight to using a Mandibular Advancement Device, how can I tell if TMJ orthotic was built into it?
I don't know how to guide you to be able to tell that. I can say that a MAD is not the same as a TMJ orthotic.
Can you please provide references for dentist that use similar methods to you in Denver? None of the dentists in my area seem to know how to treat TMJ properly.

Where do I get a Orthotic in New York area specifically Westchester? Thank you so much I just want to fix my facial assymetry and alieve my TMJ🙏🏽

Dr Hanswirth is the only one I know who was recommended to me by a TMJ Dentist that retired. It is not cheap though dude, several thousand dollars
Thanks for the video, I had a question; I saw on the internet that lateral movement of the jaw is harmful and causes tmj... Is it true?
Too much lateral movement will irritate the jaw joints.
