Shoutout to Double Dave from Revocation for putting me on to this
Go check Quo Vadis - Defiant Imagination and earlier album, they were playin a lot together in Québec in that time. Neuraxis earlier album too.
Same! He gave a sick list of 11 extreme metal bands
@@Lilmacmcmo yeah I wish they’d get more people like him to give true underrated, underground metal recommendations
Same, can’t believe I somehow missed this band all these years.
Derelict, Augury, Negativa, Atheretic, Canadian metal is awesome!
God bless you for hosting this after they dropped from spotify.
thanks Dave, from Revocation for introducing me to these sick death metal bands! Keep on writing and playing your ass off! Hard work will pay off.
Im here for Dave Davidson.. Great album really, really!! Enjoy it mates
Such an excellent album
yeah, or u listen to Human ^^
@@davetrane8041 these takes are hilarious. This is nothing like either of those bands, and especially not like Human by Death.
@@ja9145 Cynic + Death has happened on Human bc Sean and Paul played in Death Back then. I was not refering if this sounds anything alike Death or Cynic (wich it does not), that is the comment above.
@@davetrane8041 ok my bad, I thought you were agreeing with the guy
@manynukes11 it's been 8 years for you as well, take your own advice
Agree with Anthony, I blame Dave from Revocation, Bleeding the Abcess is killer too🤘🤘🤘🤘🎼🎵🎶🎶🎶🎶🎵
if Voivod were Death MEtal.. I love it
I don’t know if you already know this, but vocalist and guitarist Daniel Mongrain later went on to join Voivod.
@@ragingbill didnt know that...thanks!
Obvious this band didn't make much of a living creating this total masterpiece so Dan went to. Voivod to pay his bills... Well he is the only one that could take piggys style and twist it even further.. Awesome stuff
Dan didn't join Voivod to pay his bills but because it was his favorite band and he had the opportunity to step in.
@@Rahahaaz it definitely helped that VOIVOD has mainstream attention & gave DAN a platform to reach more people...staying in MARTYR gave him limited audience...they were & still one of the best in their intricate abilities....they should do a new album .
@@thrashaddiction i actually asked Dan on FB if they would ever consider a reunion, but irreconcilable differences with one of the members of Martyr makes it pretty much a non starter.
@@apoplexiamusic thanks for the info man. I LOVE MARTYR.
@@apoplexiamusic Well they're back now
Knowing this album for over 10 years now, I'm really glad that a lot of attention is getting drawn to it thanks to the grate Dave from Revocation. What a timeless classic this is!
DAVE SENT ME
I see Dave sent us here. Do we form a band now boys?
This album slaps.
I’m game haha
yes, yes we do.
Haha, normie.
This album slaps, what does that mean?
Si hay alguien de la ciudad de México que esté leyendo esto y quiera formar una banda así, estoy dentro
Замечательный альбом🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
dude this is awesome i just scored this on vinyl f yes 🍻
YES MY DUDE
just got this and feeding the abscess on vinyl inspired by your post. FUCK YES
Amazing album 🔥🔥🔥yea hell
here after David dropped this
Hc riffing.. 😇
I knew this band before everyone was sent here by some Dave character. Fight me. Sad Ha!
Same here. Haven't heard this in a decade almost. Popped up in my recommended and that main riff from the title track immediately popped in my head. Good shit. Upset at myself for forgetting it exists.
same here seen them in saint-jean-sur-richelieu when the album dropped.
Mongrain is such a beast🤘
Im a huge fan since 2003-2004
After the great success of Necrophagist in 2003-2004, then in 2006 became a wave of a lot of tech/death bands who reunite at the same time, Martyr was one of them..they released "Feeding the abcess" in 2006 who was an incredible album, very inspired and heavy stuff
In sequence they released the live DVD "havoc in quebec City"... And after this, all of these tech death bands went gone and never released more albums.... 😢
Their frontman Daniel Mongrain now is the official guitarist of Voivod
2006 or 07 not sure. Have been massively surprised, that they play at least a gig in November.
I’ve been listening to them since 2001! But Dave Davidson from Revocation has been mentioning in many interviews how Martyr influenced him and he basically carries their torch. His band is incredible.
Dave
Demo versions shred - almost better than the album \m/
No
@@longshanks5531 Demo Carpe Diem is goated, sorry.
@@stetsonwittenborn4899 “goated” wtf no lol
