Thank you! They are locked down with about a half inch loose at the bottom. My consultant is Ifraj Suhad in the Atl area.
@@SharidaM Thanks for info . Also, have you colored your hair since the sisterloc installation? I am afraid that once installed, I will not be able to color for a while…

Your comment about hydrating the day before was clutch. I don't have sisterlocks; however, I regularly get summer braids as a loose natural and intentionally only eat fruit in the chair having had water the day before.

Hi. Your locs are gorgeous!
I am 12 years in with my locs.
I had a horrible install experience! I did everything in my power to avoid it.
I was very outspoken as to what I wanted. Especially when it came to the size I desired. All of the SL's I'd seen were tiny. I knew going in that I desired locs around the width of a pencil. I was constantly reassured that they would get thicker.

She later told me that we would wait a while and then combine. I didn't even ask about the price. No way was I giving her more money!
I took to UA-cam. I combined my entire head of tiny locs! I mean before they even matured! I was very upset with my Loctician. I believe she told me what she wanted to get my money. If she had been honest I would not have given her my business. She got my money but she loss a lot too. Reason being I would never recommend anyone to her and I stopped going to her for my re-tights.
I had a good ending by being proactive. The base of my locs look intentional and the twins created by combining are all gone now. 😂 They did not put too much weight on the base of my locs. That was of great concern. I was sooooo relieved 😌 that I eventually got the look I was aiming for without wasting all the money 💵 spent on the initial install. 950.00 I started with (mostly) 15 inches of permed hair.
I am still enjoying my locs 12 years in.
I self maintain and style my own locs so I save bunches!

Hi. Thank you for your tips. I’ve subscribed. I’m installing in 4 months time. I want to dye before. If I want the dye to be distributed through my hair like yours what do I ask for? e.g. Highlights, Ombré? In your pre-install clip it doesn’t look dyed heavily at all but your locs look vibrant. ❤
I have Balyage Highlights. Find a specialist and go for it! Perfect amount of color and still looks beautiful as hair grows out. I haven’t done any touch ups to color since pre install.

Question ❓ how do you know if the loctician is a good one, I'm in Arizona and this heat is terrible for our type hair, I've wanted sister locks for years now I'm ready but I want to find someone who is really good for that type of investment...Any tips on finding the right person?
I would start by looking at their body of work and seek someone who has been doing it for a few years if possible. I would start getting knowledgeable about what makes Sisterlocks, Sisterlocks so that when you go to your consultation, you know what to ask. Many times if they are NOT good they will come with some off the wall answers that just don't add up. It may take some time but there are plenty of great ones out there, so I think you will find one.

How do you keep the frizz down with your locs?
I bonnet every night. I do still deal with some frizz closer to the roots but I think that is to expected until they actually mature. I am only a year into my journey so I have a ways to go.

Before the install do you have just a shampoo or you conditionned it ?
Did you cut your hair before the installation likz a gradient or just the hair tips? I décided to remove mine cause it was very bad installed and wasbnot Sisterlocks at all

I just have different shades of brown Balyage highlights. Not sure of colors specifically as I had it done professionally.

Anything to make you comfortable, like a pillow or small stool to elevate your feet. I would have died without foot elevation lol.
