Yeah, has nothing to do with his lack of coping skills for every day situations, drug addiction etc. That victim mentality is probably a big part of the reason that he ended up the way he did
Until 6 months ago, I lived in San Francisco. I worked in a building that had (still has) NBC Sports Bay Area as a tenant. I, randomly, met Aldon Smith when he was in the building for an interview, and was having lunch (as was I) on the roof deck. Nice guy. He was very, very good. But the wheels came of quickly, and that is a shame. But, then again, the window for that 49ers team shut pretty quickly.
James Allen I wonder if they can sell out Levi’s Stadium, and by “sell out”I don’t mean tix agencies snap up the seats, I mean can they actually fill every seat with a fan, so you don’t see these empty seats like last season. It’s still an expensive trip to Santa Clara
Yeah, Little Jed York has screwed the pooch so much with that franchise, they have a steep hill to climb. I know people who held season tickets that they just dumped at a massive loss and others who only broke even for a game or two. The stadium is 'sold out' but there's nobody there but fans of opposing teams. They never should have left San Francisco. York should never have fired Harbaugh (and, yes, Harbaugh was fired; York was just too much of a pussy to come out and say it). Jed York is a major league douche bag, and the franchise is paying the price for that.

Chandler Russell Totally agree with you and never said otherwise. I said some will claim he murdered CAUSE of CTE, which he obviously didn’t. The act was committed beCAUSE of the affair that’s what fueled the act not the other way around. Does he have CTE yeah I guarantee he does, did it contribute to his alleged violent act...possibly hell id even go as far and say that yeah it probably did. My point is CTE is not a valid excuse for poor behavior in society. I’m a raiders fan clearly lol and love Aldon Smith as a player but I personally disagree with chalking up multiple DWIs/DUIs/domestic violence (murder in Ojs case) to solely post concussion trauma. That’s all I’m saying mang but everyone’s entitled to believe what they choose, just wanted to clarify my point is all.
Aldon Smith was such a great player but his talent and skill is negated by his personal and legal problems and substance abuse issues. I hope he got his stuff together and is in a better place.
Watched dozens of your videos now brother. Subscribed. Your content and effort is great. Humble and insightful. Well researched and put together. You’re a nice guy. I enjoy your channel. Keep it up.
Thanks for putting this out. I have struggled myself with addiction, I came from a very strong but loving family as well. I am glad that the NFL is changing it’s policies when it comes to people with addiction/substance abuse backgrounds. I’m a huge fan of uplifting stories, so the NHL has a trophy called the Masterton Trophy, it’s based on individual perseverance, dedication and a love for the game. Robin Lehner won the trophy this year and he had to go to rehab the year before, but he helped The New York Islanders go to the playoffs after that. He struggled with addiction because he was self-medicating and was diagnosed with Bi-Polar disorder, ADD, and PTSD from being in an environment involving drugs and alcohol from a young age. From your stories that are football based, I truly hope that people understand that these athletes are human, they come from somewhere beyond their athletic gifts and also that hopefully, despite their upbringing or their own struggles they can bring some awareness and light to those who’ve been there too. I honestly feel that’s more empowering than anything.
Also thank you for putting these stories out in such a respectful way, even when you may crack a joke you’re trying to look at every side and not just assume things. So much respect for that!

Yo much love man, these videos are great. You have all the info on all my favorite players, and these videos are way better than just googling. Stay up man, one love
Came here after watching Skip react to the Cowboys releasing him just now...good vid as always...very insightful. Crazy to think what he could've been. I hope he keeps progressing💪🏾
I really think that as Aldon ages, we'll find out that it was head trauma that changed him. A lot of former NFL players went through MAJOR personality shifts due to CTE and accumulation of concussions. I hope this isn't the case, because he was always a great player and seemed like a good guy, but there is precedent for this (Junior Seau, for example).
Another great video. You do an excellent job of researching your topics and always have an interesting and enlightened perspective. Keep up the good work.
He wasn't high in that interview, it's just his speech has been effected from drug and alcohol use in conjunction with his years of playing tackle football...he really is a good dude, on and off the field, and it kills me to see and hear him deteriorate like he has....
Hate the 9ers but loved watching Aldon feast on o lines and QBs. But we've seen this story on this channel so many times. Amazing player with those demons. Thanks Flem. Can always count on you to dig deeper, and humanize players more than most of us have the want or will to.
Yea i remember watching this guy & yea he was a beast!! Just an unbelievable waste of god given talent!! Sad story!! Ihope nothing but the best for him in working on his life.
FLEMLO!!! You the man. "Cause I'm a go I'm a go I'm a go getta!!!!!" Fuckin love your intro music bro. Keep up the good work man your vids are always awesome as well
If you give me few million dollars to play football I promise you I wouldn’t touch a bottle of alcohol for the rest of my life. But hey some people just have issues 🤷🏾♂️
Aldon Smith was one of the most dominant Outside Linebackers/ Defensive End to play the position... He still is a young man who make mistakes like any other young man. Sometimes people purposely target those who have a bad string of luck. Not making an excuse for the man, but people should focus on trying to better themselves instead of focusing on others flaws. None of us is without sin, no one is perfect...
damn. flemlo is lowkey blowing up man. just like two days ago he had like 220k. he got like 2k in 2 day’s. and he’s consistent at uploading. my boi should be blowing up
I 10000% blame goodellse and the NFLs awful rules against medical weed. Smith started to get in trouble for failed drug tests. But it was because he had bad injuries and chose to smoke weed instead of taking highly addictive opiates like oxys, opanas, roxys, percs etc. NFL being out of touch morons wasnt ok with that. and then yes when suspended he had some depression and sometimes drank. But with the raiders a year ago he was clean for a whole YEAR. And goodelle still didnt reinstate him. it put him into a depression, and was also bored, losing money etc and then slipped up again. If they wouldve gave em one more chance that last go around he prob wouldve been fine
Aldon was NOT clean for a full year. Goodell will only allow you to come back if he trusts you and your plan on coming back. Do not put aldons smith problems on goodell
Adam K Bro. Goodell reinstated him after a year suspension. But before he was reinstated he was detained the month he was supposed to be because of alcohol
Adam K when you got rules uou dont follow why do you expect them to just let it go. marijuana isnt even legally federally and a scheduled one drug in the same line with heroin and meth. I dont think it should be but that's the way it works is. even in the states they say it's legal it's really only state legal but not federally
Hope you never have to do one of these on Josh Gordon bruh. Just want to see my young bull eat, crazy talent but addiction is a crazy one. Just hope he can get back to that level we know he’s capable of.
A lot of these guys don’t have the right people in their corner. Majority of these young men are looked at as a dollar sign and not as a person, hopefully he can get some help and focus on just living a productive life. Wish you the best big homie🙏🏿
Notice that he got into trouble during the offseason, when he didn't have that structure to fall back on which was pointed out in the video. The guy was a massive talent, his kind of all around talent does not come around all that often and I think is why both the 49ers and the Raiders tried to keep him on their team but Aldons demons was just too much for him and he couldn't keep out of trouble. I miss this dude and I hope he can and is getting help.
I remember my dad said he saw Aldon in a court house or court room. Crazy how he saw an athlete, even thought he didn’t have the best career, Aldon still was a somebody for a couple seasons

Yo much love man, these videos are great. You have all the info on all my favorite players, and these videos are way better than just googling. Stay up man, one love
I’m a 49ers fan and I still can’t believe that he went from a top Linebacker to what he is now
I dont even watch or enjoy football, but your videos are so well researched and you tell the stories so well that I enjoy them
wow hes so high
Jim Parrish yea that first video he was on something
Painkillers, alcohol and cte must be quite the daily adventure. I'll pray for you
Jawned up. He got the frog voice
He had a bottle full of oxycodone in his pocket when he crashed that night. He was flying on pills and drunk off his ass.
Love your video's. You help me remember a lot of people that I can't believe I have forgot about.
Aldon Smith was a beast on the field...but off the field 🤷🏿♂️
Mister Randy Watson son is a problem
Came here after watching Skip react to the Cowboys releasing him just now...good vid as always...very insightful. Crazy to think what he could've been. I hope he keeps progressing💪🏾
I really think that as Aldon ages, we'll find out that it was head trauma that changed him. A lot of former NFL players went through MAJOR personality shifts due to CTE and accumulation of concussions. I hope this isn't the case, because he was always a great player and seemed like a good guy, but there is precedent for this (Junior Seau, for example).
So many weird behaviors, it's highly probable to get a head scan; poor guy!
Another great video. You do an excellent job of researching your topics and always have an interesting and enlightened perspective. Keep up the good work.
This dude clearly has issues. The interview in the beginning says it all. He was so dominant it sad to see such potential completely wasted.
Story tellin is the best thing that has happened to your channel. Keep it in man!
5 days ago Aldon Smith arrested on suspicion of DUI. Damn
MegaMoves HotandCold get that man help
How many is that now wow?? 5 +??
@Dallas ! For real? Hell yeah!!
This is EXACTLY the type of content I’m looking for!!! Thank you!!!
Do Deuce McAllister 🔥⚜️
GertTown Nola Buck got old I call it the Shaun Alexander treatment
Nyz free thinker ya but as a New Orleans native deuce McAllister was one of the few bright spots for the saints
He was crazy in madden
Mr Carter he calls the saints games now
Deuce doin fine
This is a great channel. Flemlo always positive. You're the best, Flemlo!
Let's see Charles Rogers video
King of the Game ... I think he might have done a vid on Rodgers already, im not sure though. Charles Rodgers was the best college wr I've ever seen!
King of the Game I went to high school with him he was a beast in football and basketball. #SagNasty
King of the Game Mr. Glass
King of the Game I remember Madden in his rookie year he was like the highest reated rookie ever.
Then... Well.. you know the rest.
Blade Brown I'm from Bridgeport bro! #Salute 💯
Absolutely amazing at this Flemlo! Thanks man
He wasn't high in that interview, it's just his speech has been effected from drug and alcohol use in conjunction with his years of playing tackle football...he really is a good dude, on and off the field, and it kills me to see and hear him deteriorate like he has....
God, that's a name I haven't heard in a LONG time. I remember the rise and fall of Aldon quite well. Big time niners fan. Great video!
It seemed like when Colin Kaepernick swooped Aldon's girlfriend and started dating her when they were supposed to be teammates he lost it.
Charles Hamamjian really so it's Colins fault
Such a talented player, hope that one day he figures what life is all about.
Aldon Smith I feel for you I'm battling an addiction to alcohol and weed also
u can do it bro
🤣🤣
Hate the 9ers but loved watching Aldon feast on o lines and QBs. But we've seen this story on this channel so many times. Amazing player with those demons. Thanks Flem. Can always count on you to dig deeper, and humanize players more than most of us have the want or will to.
Who’s here after he had a great game against the seahawks but they still lost
Finally my guy! Been waiting for this bro!keep pushing flemlo!!
Different man early on so maybe CTE is a possibility
ProtectandServe180 let's keep it real. It's alcohol
Yea i remember watching this guy & yea he was a beast!! Just an unbelievable waste of god given talent!! Sad story!! Ihope nothing but the best for him in working on his life.
Man he was an amazing player just wish he could get over his demons and maybe play again.
mdub2000 xfl
FLEMLO!!! You the man. "Cause I'm a go I'm a go I'm a go getta!!!!!" Fuckin love your intro music bro. Keep up the good work man your vids are always awesome as well
Tbh I don’t know who half these players are I just like flems story telling and these vids
Eli Burgess bro when you start watching the NFL
Eli Burgess how do you not know aldon
Jesse Aldon was underrated as hell, but if you knew who he was, he was definitely top 3 if not the best pass rusher the time he was at SF
You and KTO consistently put out great videos! Keep it up man!
If you give me few million dollars to play football I promise you I wouldn’t touch a bottle of alcohol for the rest of my life. But hey some people just have issues 🤷🏾♂️
Bet?
@@xxisaiah27xx99 😂😂😂
Rico strong if u suck u would get a few hundred thousand
Bro great video I was thinking about this the other day but I didn’t want to do the research
As a Niner fan it sucks not seeing him wear the red and gold uniform on Sundays such a great LB with a huge amount of talent!
Do a what happened to rolando McClain
Ryley Tucker he liked weed too much end of story.
Smith is still one of my favorite players. Dude was a beast on the field.
Just a fire up session 🔥🔥
damn. flemlo is lowkey blowing up man. just like two days ago he had like 220k. he got like 2k in 2 day’s. and he’s consistent at uploading. my boi should be blowing up
I 10000% blame goodellse and the NFLs awful rules against medical weed.
Do not put aldons smith problems on goodell
he got drug tested twice a week in that period and passed them all. there was guys who hit woman and did other shit who got let off easier than smith
Adam K how you putting it on drugs when his run ins with the law had to do with reckless actions he done not based on weed but based on alcohol abuse
Really a great player that never reached his full potential just only got to see a glimpse of what he could of become really enjoyed watching him play
Hope you never have to do one of these on Josh Gordon bruh. Just want to see my young bull eat, crazy talent but addiction is a crazy one. Just hope he can get back to that level we know he’s capable of.
Too late
This guy was special. He had so much talent. I wish him the best and hope he is doing better.
Didn't spill the tea on that Nessa/Aldon/Kaep love triangle 😂😂
lmao
Think it’s time to revisit this video...man’s balling out this season
You should do Jacoby Jones next
Ravens SuperBowl 53 Champions Flag football loll
There's a baseball player too named Jacoby Jones that played for LSU what a coincidence.
And he was white too
Christian Keller But the NFL Jacoby Jones is black...
Wasnt he good thoe
A lot of these guys don’t have the right people in their corner. Majority of these young men are looked at as a dollar sign and not as a person, hopefully he can get some help and focus on just living a productive life. Wish you the best big homie🙏🏿
He was op on madden 25
Black_ Hammer25 😂😂
Notice that he got into trouble during the offseason, when he didn't have that structure to fall back on which was pointed out in the video. The guy was a massive talent, his kind of all around talent does not come around all that often and I think is why both the 49ers and the Raiders tried to keep him on their team but Aldons demons was just too much for him and he couldn't keep out of trouble. I miss this dude and I hope he can and is getting help.
Man, that first interview...sounded like Aldon Smith had been puffin' on the pipe for a few hours.
You dumb? That's not what weed makes you sound like. It sounds like pills/opiates to me
first time viewer. liked your analysis.
Dang man, this like Justin Blackmon but he had HOF talent. I hope he wakes up before it’s too late.
You do a pretty good job with these vids. They are factual and fair, and unbiased - much like our media should be , but that’s another story
He look half crazy... 🤦🏽♂️
he probably has cte a lot of players seem to have a bad issue with that that's why they dont act like that anymore
Yea you can definitely see something isn't right!!!
Jesse Avila U gotta be to play this sport lmao
I remember my dad said he saw Aldon in a court house or court room. Crazy how he saw an athlete, even thought he didn’t have the best career, Aldon still was a somebody for a couple seasons
