Aurora Night | harp and vocal impro

In the nights from Friday to Saturday one of my biggest dreams came true. I witnessed the aurora borealis for the first ever time in my life. I had been chasing her for the last couple of years, was out there many nights with my tripod and camera facing North and doing longtime exposures of the night sky, in vain, until the 10th/11th of May 2024, when a massive solar storm hit the Earth's atmosphere and created polar lights, which went as far South as Italy! I was lucky enough to see them with my own eyes (they look like grey-ish light-beams in the sky to the eye) and capture them with my camera (which managed to bring out all the colours...no editing of colours here!). They polar lights kept returning and I was basically out there photographing from about 11pm till 4am. The captures I got you can see in this video-slideshow and the song is an improvisation I recorded the day after thinking of this magical experience still awestruck and filled with gratitude beyond all imagination.
I hope you enjoy and were maybe as lucky as I was or will be lucky some time soon, as the sun's activity is reaching a maximum in 2025 and if we are really, really lucky again and a new moon night (or moonless night or just a night with a very thin moon) falls together with a clear sky and a massive solar storm hitting the Earth at night time, then we will be maybe able to witness the magic again south of the polar regions.
