Well, if we all close our accounts down en masse, there'll be no accounts to put any CBDC's in, therefore they'll have little of no control over us on that aspect. If necessary, I'm willing to go back to a barter system. If people have already been awarded benefits, the government will have to issue a cashable giro or something that doesn't need an account, as they can't go back on their decision to award benefits, unless there are undisclosed circumstances such as a split where there's a claim as a couple/change of address etc. The good thing about closing our accounts down, is that the banks will suffer. They, like any other business, need customers and their money to invest, to make themselves money. And I'm sure many MP's have stocks and shares or other investments in the banks, so if we can bring them down, the MP's lose out as well. Not only that, but the banks will have to either downsize or completely close due to lack of customers.
Yep. But there are ways around it. People will get creative. A black market will spring up. There's cryptos and precious metals. There's good old bartering, used for thousands of years, which is private, fair and honest. It's our choice. @sgi re George Orwell comment. The fact is George Orwell truly had insight into the dystopian society and therefore could not put everything he foresaw, regarding the future, into his books in plain language, because of being ridiculed and harmed by the media for starters. But instead, he succinctly wrote in such a way that enabled him to get the truth out into the wider world. The problem with this is that the powers that be have been extremely clever via the development of films and TV, that they have been able to condition the majority of people into believing that what is being planned and implemented in today's society, is not real, but fiction. Sadly, they have had their consciousness seared with "A Hot Iron" and therefore are consciously in a state of stupor and blinded by the forces of a great deception.
NO!...you're just allowing yourself to be driven into the ground by using a constantly devaluing form of payment. Cash is not king, if anything it's Gold, silver etc etc. It's happening, no if's or buts about it. Your way round this is to understand the system of what's happening and why cbdc's have come about in response to various cryptocurrency/ digital assets and how they will move over Blockchain technology to solve the problems the banks have created. Do your research in to it and stick with it, it's very heavy information but you will eventually understand it.
Anybody who runs their own business or likes to make a little additional cash needs take part in this conversation because your ability to conduct business your own way and be flexible in transactions will soon be a thing of the past. @maldarkangel if we have the new currency cbdc we can start with a new value and leave the old currency with the inflation am I rong. It means we can link commodity prices with incomes again. I'm sure it's coming anyway. I've heard If you have £10k or less they will do a direct swap too the cbdc if you have more you can suffer inflation on the money you hold above that amount. I can see no purpose whatsoever when we already have paypal, Apple/Googlepay or can pay for goods with cards, whats the benefit for us? They just want it to control everything we do.

My friend went over Humber Bridge which is cashless. He just sat there with the money and the bloke phoned the police. They let him cross in the end without paying. I love how stubborn he is.
I always pay cash now. When it became a thing to pay on your phone I thought it was handy. Then the next morning when you check you balance you realise its not that handy at all! When you're in a pub/club it so easy to just keep tapping, when you pay cash and watch those notes vanish out of your wallet you soon start to think in the moment!!!!
It's been proven that people spend more when using card/phone compared to cash. When you pay by cash it activates the pain centre in the brain as you see the notes/coins disappearing. This does not happen with card/phone payments. Since reverting to cash for day to day purchases two years ago (I boycott any establishments which refuse cash) I have become much more aware of how much I am spending and where the money it going.
You are spot on!! The big problem is that most people will go along with it, just as they did in the last 'you know what'. Ask no questions, obey, be good!! So many people asleep.
They claim it will be used alongside cash - yet in Nigeria when the people refused to use the CBCD they made cash illegal tender overnight to force people to use the CBDC.
Exactly what I and others have been saying. And they will do exactly the same everywhere else. This is a global agenda. Too many idiots saying they will only use cash and patronise only stores which accept cash. Good luck to them. And saying there's more cash in circulation now than at any time in history. So what? With these tyrants in control, anything can happen. Anything that benefits them, that is, and anything which puts more control of us into their hands.
There are already papers out talking about putting time limits/expiry dates on money and dictating what exactly can be bought with those units. If this replaces the pound we are in for trouble as the level of control those central planners will have will be exponentially larger than it is now. There would be no freedom we would be slaves to the system and whomever is running it.
They've already started down this path, look at all the adverts aimed at giving cards to youngsters. This is to get the next generation used to paying only by card and eventually dispose of cash.

You are absolutely spot on GBN. I pay cash for everything now. If a company does not accept cash, I go elsewhere. It worries me to see so many people paying for even small purchases such as a newspaper ,with their phones or card. They think it is so convenient, but in reality they are building their own prison. When the gruberment market something as, "convenient", you should ask the question, "convenient for whom?"
Paying for mundane things like rent with a digital currency is not a problem. The big problem is the control aspect of it. Cash was the best option for making purchases but most of us had none as we use our cards all of the time. Apart from the security and ethical concerns, it's not always practical.
5:00 I am so glad to see this point raised. My understanding of the words “legal tender” on our cash means that they MUST be accepted within the borders of the country that issues the currency. Yes, I know there was the issue during the pandemic, but my understanding is that it is ILLEGAL for a trader not to accept the “coin of the realm”. Why is this law not being enforced? (Because it suits the control agenda of the Elite, I know).
@@ef7480 I know. It refers to currency being recognised as a legal means by which public or private debts (or another financial obligation) can be satisfied. Still obliquely relevant and the “cashless” nonsense needs to be challenged.
'my understanding is that it is ILLEGAL for a trader not to accept the “coin of the realm”.. well, your understanding is wrong; no-one can be forced to accept cash when selling goods and services; only an existing debt can be insisted on being paid via cash.

@@covertcounsellor6797 USA Coinage Act of 1965, specifically Section 31 U.S.C. 5103, entitled "Legal tender," which states: "United States coins and currency (including Federal reserve notes and circulating notes of Federal reserve banks and national banks) are legal tender for all debts, public charges, taxes, and dues." This statute means that all United States money as identified above are a valid and legal offer of payment for debts when tendered to a creditor. There is, however, no Federal statute mandating that a private business, a person or an organization must accept currency or coins as for payment for goods and/or services. Private businesses are free to develop their own policies on whether or not to accept cash unless there is a State law which says otherwise. Australia It appears that a provider of goods or services is at liberty to set the commercial terms upon which payment will take place before the 'contract' for supply of the goods or services is entered into. For example, some vending machines, parking meters and road toll collection points indicate by signs that they will not accept low denomination coins. Some road toll collection points indicate that they will not accept any cash at all. If a provider of goods or services specifies other means of payment prior to the contract, then there is usually no obligation for legal tender to be accepted as payment. UK The government does not plan to mandate cash acceptance. Businesses are able to choose the forms of payment they accept. The government’s proposals for legislation support cash acceptance.
“What the Bank of England and other central banks have been worried about is the growth of cryptocurrency”. Correct, but not for the reasons they give. It’s because it eliminates the need for banks altogether by providing a ‘trusted authority’ in the form of a distributed ledger system called the blockchain. For the first time since direct bartering was the default method of transacting, people have a decentralised and democratised financial system that sidesteps governments and banks. That’s why central banks are ‘worried’ and want to replace it with the exact opposite: CBDCs.

If a supermarket refused to accept my cash payment i could just walk out with the goods on the understanding that they would not accept my payment so therefore the goods are a gift from them. It does say on every great british bank note that the bearer promises to pay the sum of that note so therefore you are not refusing to pay, but they are refusing to accept payment and so the goods become a gift.
You can only use cash in this instance to a debt, eg goods you have already had like electricity and gas. As the goods still belong to the supermarket they can decline payment via cash. No one can refuse payment of a debt via cash, in that instance you are correct and can walk away.
Actually, cash use is on the up since the "pandemic". They always use that period to say cash is on the decline. People are waking up to what is going on and going back to cash. Not only that, with people struggling because of the (deliberately made) cost of living crisis, they are using it more because it's easier to budget with. Quite sure it's gone up by 19%. The post office says it's struggling to keep up with demand for cash withdrawals.
If it’s running parallel with cash I’ll stick with cash as after all it is king 😁. Even during the flu my boozer still allowed me to use cash as no apps on my 2013 phone but one problem I did have was with buses but they are fine accepting cash again now so normal service is resumed for me. I have not even had any problems withdrawing cash but I have heard some have and seen vids online where people have had to justify withdrawing their own cash which is concerning.

Coinage Act of 1965, specifically Section 31 U.S.C. 5103, entitled "Legal tender," which states: "United States coins and currency (including Federal reserve notes and circulating notes of Federal reserve banks and national banks) are legal tender for all debts, public charges, taxes, and dues."
This statute means that all United States money as identified above are a valid and legal offer of payment for debts when tendered to a creditor. There is, however, no Federal statute mandating that a private business, a person or an organization must accept currency or coins as for payment for goods and/or services. Private businesses are free to develop their own policies on whether or not to accept cash unless there is a State law which says otherwise.
Australia
It appears that a provider of goods or services is at liberty to set the commercial terms upon which payment will take place before the 'contract' for supply of the goods or services is entered into.
UK
The government does not plan to mandate cash acceptance. Businesses are able to choose the forms of payment they accept. The government’s proposals for legislation support cash acceptance.

You guys hit the nail on the head in all you were saying. Its all about control CBDC is all about control, i did the online consultation form and it was very confusing and the hardest thing iv ever read and the hardest form i have ever filled out ever, and i totally disagree with the CBDC.
And people laughed at El Salvador when we adopted Bitcoin as legal tender to avoid CDBCs. Enjoy your new authoritarian currency.
You forget one thing it will come to you or you will be isolated no trade
@@imbonkers3629 we still have US dollars but we also have BTC
@@Valentina.Montano the US dollar is in imminent danger of no longer being the world reserve currency.
@@judywaddell6065 yeah, and as a small country with lack of opportunity to get rid of US dollars, getting another fiat currency would have been too expensive for us and politically devastating. Our best bet was BTC, especially with FedNow, the CBDC's payments option in the US that was just launched.
Digital is all very well - until the power goes down - as it did, here in Christchurch after the big earthquake. Then cash was king!
Walker seems quite dopey, thinking using credit cards and online banking is the same as digital currency.
Gotta love GBnews telling us the consultation closes today. Fantastic ‘news’ giving us loads of early info so we can take part in the consultation . They must have known about this from the get go - them being a brilliant ‘news’ service and ‘The People’s Channel’.
Not .
Gb news has been bought out,no doubt with Blackrock having substantial shares !
