Thank you AR Richard. Loving ourselves, others, God, our world, our communities can be such a challenge on day-to-day basis. Its like a roller coaster of highs and lows. You are not alone.
One day, we are at the top of the mountain, our cups overflowing with the love in our lives, while the next day we can be deep in the valley with empty cups.
For me, I try to view it as a long road. There will be stretches of that road that take me up and take me down. So when I'm in those meltdown phases, I know that there will be better days ahead. Also, I know that when I am in a season of bliss it will be for a time too before the road takes me to another place.
To manage this sometimes turbulent ride, my journey has been to focus on the love I can give using the virtues in 1 Corinthians 13.
I start by going to the simple basics of trying to love myself by giving patience and being kind to myself, recognizing that love can be messy - its never like a movie or Hallmark card. I try to steer clear of keeping records of my wrongs and others'. I focus on gratitude instead of anger. I focus on trusting myself that I will get through the darkness and I hope for better moments.
Thanks for sharing where you are at with this. It can be so challenging. I hope this helps. You are deep in my thoughts and I'm cheering you on.

"love" is my favorite part. i am not a person of the book, but i find 1 cor 13 says so much. i listen to a discussion on quantum field theory and it makes me think of love.

Thanks for input, Bomark. Its an interesting dynamic. There are hundreds of versions of the Bible. We chose NIV for 1 Corinthians 13 because we feel it takes the words from back then and translates them so they can be appreciated today.
