I'm the Head Coach for the SOI-Outaws (School of Infantry) at Camp Pendleton, CA. We are one of 8 teams that are currently part of the full contact league. The Camp Pendleton Football League (CPFL). The Marines and Sailors are crushing it every season. Their best bet for success with football post military service, is getting recruited by a college. We need scouts to come out and enjoy the show. A lot of the players are close to getting out and a disciplined student athlete is exactly what they would be receiving. If there are scouts seeing this contact me. Ill make it happen.

I was stationed at Camp Pendleton Sept 93 - Sept 94 (Las Pulgas). I was Maintenance Battalions’ starting RB. The only Navy Corpsman on the team, scored many touchdowns and made their all star team too. It was a pleasure serving with the Marines.

I was starting QB at UNC for 3 years and played while I was in the Corps, and I was HIT harder then I was EVER hit in college. Some of these kids are on another LEVEL when it comes to meanness and toughness, and my back is still feeling those hits just watching this film. The CORPS is another LEVEL. For everyone that watches this video, Mike Anderson and I are the REAL REASONS for this video. I've been posting it here and there, love some of the comments. But if you have any questions and Mike can't answer them for you, you could contact me. Some of your opinions could've used a bit more thinking, but we are who we are. Every time I watch this it 😢 me up a little because I miss my brothers and sisters and the fun we had FIGHTING THE WAR WE FAUGHT in Iraq, Afghanistan, Gulf War, etc. NFL Films came to me on my return from Iraq.

I liked the video but some people my be reacting to the afore mentioned topics. ps you don't have to be a football star to be a great man or a great marine .Oorah ! Marines

He didn't mention it because he probably didn't know. I came back from Iraq and was told ESPN and Coach Turley were looking for me for an interview about going into the NFL. I received all kinds of stuff, but the most memorable was the flag signed by everyone wishing me luck in the NFL, but instead of going to Coach Turley, San, Jacinto JC, I went to Palomar, and they frowned upon the way I played I guess it something, but they never gave me the truth!!! They'd tell everyone no-one has a starting position, but are recruiting people to start by telling them that and not having the success they planned. They insisted on playing all the younger talent before me instead of playing me to be seen. Coach Tom Craft said I was BLUE COLLAR ATHLETE when he came back, but Early wouldn't play me.

I think the video is bit of Marine Corps propaganda, but I liked it. Most aren't going make it the NFL. I don't think it was trying to say that, I do think it showed the grit and determination of a Marine and how being a Marine helped Mike Anderson make it in the NFL. He said that himself.
You could get hurt and possibly bad enough to end your carreer but that could happen doing numerous things in training.
I am sure there were other players who either got recruited or found out themselves they were good enough to play in college. Not necessarily D-1, but junior or community college.
I think it's good spotlighting how Marines are good at many things. Not just being a war fighter. It shows that they are flexible and can work as a team or an individual.
    Oorah!

Marine corps football is not a sport. It is combat. Most NFL players could not handle it. You will never see a Marine taking a knee during the anthem.

doesnt really make sense. In the Army, football was discouraged and banned due to unnecessary injuries that would prevent deployment. why arent the marines training for combat. my sergeants would laugh at anyone wanting to attend practice. They would say your job is war
