    I have 4 kids i work I'm a single parent life can get stressful..about Bill's and everything else...I don't drink wine ..but in the morning I would open up a Corona bottle..instead of coffee..my only brother passed away..so I was drinking more through out the day.. even when I was at work on lunch time I would go to Circle K get something to drink put it in my Thirst Buster and drink at work... I don't do that anymore if I do have a drink it's once in a blue moon but now instead of drinking when I'm stressed or depressed I just pray to God to guide me to help me..

    I can't tell how old her son, Maverick, is now, but for the age he appears to be in the clip, his delivery is extremely well-spoken and insightful. Maybe he will retain his unbiased judgement skills for the rest of his life. I'm astounded, considering the confession by his mother about her anger toward the kids.

      @Lucky Catnip the drinking doesn't sneak up on you, but the chaos it creates does....one drink at a time. Of course you know your doing it. And that it's bad. But there are underlying issues that keep it going.
      Don't be so quick, as to judge someone, on their failures....we all have them, even you. And one day you'll need someone to understand you through it....just like her.

    I don’t drink. My parents were alcoholics. When I was younger I didn’t realize that they were addicted. I thought it was normal to have an 18 pack a day. And two 4 packs on top of that for “lunch”. My neighbor would always watch me and she would say “oh your mom has already had her liquid lunch so she’ll be fine”. My sister and I don’t drink. We do fear alcohol.

    • @thewewguy8t88
      @thewewguy8t88 Рік тому

      yeah i used to fear it too but it was more of an at the time my parents were like its okay for us to drink because we are adults and we pay the bills and that kind of thing. and if you drink you are out of the house. my dad was an alcoholic my mom barely drank infact since my dad stopped drinking i cant recall the last time my mom drank. i am 35 now i have been drinking for 10 years and honestly i have it so under control as unless i make a plan to go out and drink usually like weeks or months ahead of time i can look at beer or liquer or whatever and just go meh or feel indifferent towards it. sometimes if a friend does randomly ask me to go on the same day i will say sure if i have nothing else to do the next day(if i get asked on a friday/staturday) with rare expections on a sunday or even after work on weekday.

However my kids weren’t allowed at play dates where mom’s would be drinking because everyone one would look at me crazy if I chose not to drink.

      you are not wrong and part of the problem is people think something is wrong with you if you do not drink and will feel kind of uncomfortable with you. and if you are hanging out with people while everyone else is drinking and you are not it can be alkward.

    I was wondering about all that "mommy drinking" merchandise, like... don't you need to drive your kids around? What if there is an emergency?
    People assume me an alcoholic because I bring vodka instead of wine. Nice thing about vodka is you can pour as little as you want, close the bottle and throw it back on the shelf for any other day - open bottle shelf life is like 10 years or more. With wine there is a pressure to finish it once opened or you have to pour it down the sink. I see my neighbours dumping several bottles of wine in the recycling every week...

    • @thewewguy8t88
      @thewewguy8t88 Рік тому +1

      yup pretty much i rarely drink whine myself i tend to go for hader liquer like vokda because as you said you can drink as much as you want and then keep the rest for later on. granted me and my friend when we pre drink going out to a club sometimes the smaller bottle is not enough for us but my friend says she still has some of our bottles we saved for the next time we pre drink.

I can assure you you don't get addicted to weed and it does NOT have the negative effects. one toke I can relax instead of the hell of Xanax and wine/beer world I lived in. even if I indulge I am not going to black out or wake up to the shakes. in fact weed has HELPED me with my health not destroyed it. Don’t forget that no one has ever died from a marijuana overdose & it has medicinal properties. It’s also natural & doesn’t have to be processed to be used at all.

    • @aaronburratwood.6957
      @aaronburratwood.6957 5 років тому +2

      Oh yeah, it’s also not physically addictive. When you stop, you’ll miss the act of smoking but I guess you could use something safer, like vaping.
      Oh wait, that’s killing folks left & right. More people have died from vaping (which has only been around a few years) than died from a marijuana overdose.

    Wells that's no surprise, If u pay close attention to people's "passion or favorite pass time" their consistent online presence is about frequenting different wineries, bar hopping, memes about needing wine instead of sleep. Some people even find ways to employ their passion/bad habit as their paid gig or hobby, as entrepreneurs. It's no secret, a new "business front or venture" has always been a clever way of disguising unethical behavior and/or illegal practices. Sooner or later, a small business crashes or right before hires an "assistant" and larger corporations realize successful businesses run smoother with sober staff with sound minds.

    Also we teach our kids how to deal w/stress-pain-shame-trauma by how we deal with it. Gabor Mate: “Not why the addiction but why the pain.” If I could do it all over again, I’d heal my trauma-pain before I picked my partner (another traumatized child in adult body) then guess what we taught our kids? Now they’re spending their adult lives falling & picking bad people, drunk driving accidents, now they’re having cope w/their trauma of being adult children of alcoholics.

  • @jennwill80
    @jennwill80 5 років тому +3

    A couple of girlfriend have taken to working for Scout and Cellar, and it’s very off putting to me how easily they joke about needing wine everyday to deal with their day to day moments. I don’t say anything...because maybe I’m just putting my issues on them...but yeah, I wonder. Mommy drinking culture will definitely leave at least a few women struggling. I don’t get it.

    Women are often shamed if they admit being a stay at home wife/mom isn’t less stressful than being an employed mom for them personally. I don’t get the stigma over admitting something is really hard to deal with

  • @madison5898
    @madison5898 3 роки тому +3

    God keeps me faithful and free from alcohol. I've never been drunk, and my first drink was my last. Largely due to the fact that I don't want to end up being an alcoholic like my family members and I want to please God with the way I live. However, people cannot stay free in their own strength. You NEED God's help to stay free from anything addictive. Christ puts us over.

    My comment has nothing to do with religion when you are a sober recovered alcoholic there's nothing to cope with there's nothing to have anxiety over and there's nothing to worry about because it's a simple fundamentals of spirituality two people are supposed to come together and make each other a priority and never lose the gratitude they've been blessed with a family for example you need to be grateful that your family didn't end up in a divorce or perhaps you killed somebody in a car accident and ended up in jail because those are very real realities for some people if your higher power is responsible for everything that happens in the world even though you got to make the choice and it came out positive and your choice was the right Choice of the outcome of whatever thing you were trying to produce or make a decision on if the outcome came out positive you still need to pay homage to your higher power for those results in humility and people often struggle on what's my higher power your higher power is anything but yourself there's nothing to cope with there's nothing to worry about and there's no anxiety when you're living a spiritually fit life our maker is responsible for all outcomes meaning man did not make sperm and man did not make egg this has nothing to do with religion this is the basic fundamentals of spirituality
    I'm really enjoying that you're pointing this out to society this is very important stuff after we came through Covid and people had time on their hands thank you for airing this the realities are once somebody becomes a daily drinker they're an alcoholic that's the reality it doesn't matter that you're babbling trunk you become two different people because alcohol as a coping mechanism and again there's nothing to cope with when you're living a spiritually fit life has nothing to do with Jesus Christ or the Bible
