    What a beautiful collection and a cool prologue with the colorful hexagon bottoms of bottles lined up! I feel its "DNA" of the geometric Effluvium cover✨ There used to be a store here that had a lineup from this brand, and I remember liking Yerbamate and Spezie. I'd love to explore this brand again, especially Ambra too💗

    So great to hear your descriptions and take on this brand. I just returned from Florence and was lucky to visit Lorenzo Villoresi’s museum (it was a 2min walk from our accommodation!). Rather than presenting what one might expect from such a “museum” -a history of perfumery- visitors are given a guided tour of ingredients and materials with lots of opportunity to smell and identify ingredients along the way. Our visit finally ended with an introduction to Villoresi’s creations. It was my first time trying any of his fragrances but I purchased some samples to take home and explore. The shop, museum and Villoresi’s offices are situated in a beautifully renovated villa that’s been in his family for years. 🥰

    • @JJColb
      @JJColb  Рік тому +1

      Thank you! The museum still sounds pretty cool, even if it doesn't quite sound like what I expected it to be. I would love to visit Florence some day soon! 😍

      @@JJColb I definitely found it cool! I still have so much to learn about perfume and got a lot out of becoming introduced and/or familiarized with individual notes and ingredients. I also learned that the absence of any chypre or aquatic fragrances in his collection was because, "Sig. Villoresi doesn't like them himself so won't make them" .. LOL. One of the benefits of being your own boss!

    Wonderful presentation of this house, JJ! I just received Atman Xaman in the mail, and experiencing it for the first time now. What an elegantly blended perfume! So gorgeously’smoky leather’ or ‘leathery tobacco’, as you put it. I have seen it compared several times to 1740, which I can definitely smell, but also to my nose in the dry down I am picking up very clearly Tauer’s Lonestar Memories. Perhaps it’s the clothes giving it a bit of that camphorous quality. Either way, this stuff is divine!

    Very nice review of the house. Your spiritual connect with these solvents is clearly visible! I own 4 of them. I have Musk, Atman Xaman, Patchouli and Alamut. I am wondering what my next one should be. Should it be Dilum, Yerbamate or Speize. I want to avoid Theasus since I own lot of Vetivers. What do you suggest for a person who is open to anything, but want less powderiness. Both Musk and Alamut have a prominent powdery aspect.

    • @JJColb
      @JJColb  Рік тому +1

      Thank you so much! That means a ton to me. I’d go for Yerba Mate if I were you-one of my first loves from the house. Then again, it may feel powdery to you. Otherwise, Spezie. 👍

    Love the name Theseus for a fragrance. Amazing overview JJ. Atman Xaman remains the only one I tried and even that was a total fluke. But like you mentioned, thank goodness those modern woody ambers aren't present to stifle the composition. You've got me intrigued with "rose-scented mushrooms!" 😄

    • @JJColb

      Isn't that a great name? Thanks so much, Doni! Villoresi resists trends and fads in perfume, and for that reason I love him. Yes!!! 🌹🍄

    I’ve tried Amber and Spezie. And I’m conquered by their distinguished rich beauty. I was a bit afraid that spezie will be too harsh for me, but it is surprisingly delicate, melting and soft for a spicy perfume. Amber is so beautiful that I don’t have words to explain. And they tell me stories , very imaginative. Veloressi is an artist, a true one.

    I will buy a decant of Atman Xaman and Musc, (hoping that Atman Xaman is not similar to 'Immortelle Corse' of Parfum D'Empire). Do you think they both have at least 1-2 hours of projection and a bit of sillage?
