Just a few reminders for everyone who's just become aware of us, in order to keep these briefings from being several hours long, we can't cover everything. We're probably covering 1% of the world events when we conduct these briefings, so please remember that if we left it out, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's unimportant. Also, remember that we do these briefings quite often, so we might have covered an issue previously that you might not see if you are only watching our most recent videos. We're also doing this in our spare time, so again we fully admit that these briefings aren't even close to being perfect; we're going for a healthy blend of speed and quality. If we were to wait and only post a brief when it's "perfect" we would never post anything at all. So expect some minor errors here and there. If there is a major error or correction that needs to be made, we will post it here in the description, and verbally address it in the next briefing, whenever that is. Also, thanks for reading this far. It is always surprising the number of people that don't actually read the description box to find more information.

Cyber pro here. I've seen a steep decline in cyber hygiene over the last 4 years, as many companies have been struggling with the economic effects of the lockdowns and then just poor economy in general. One of the first things they do is cut security. Unfortunately and frighteningly, I've seen this trend within the DOD/IC as well. Multiple times, a customer would rather have a new feature rolled out than allow time for due diligence for proper cyber analysis, evaluation, and test of potential vulnerabilities or divergence from best practices.
Buckle up people, the inmates are running the asylum!
It’s not hard to take out multiple carriers or services when the wrong backhoe digs up the right multi strand fiber cable.
Or fishing boat drops it's anchor over the wrong cable
Or a well placed chunk of lead .
They are not all buried in the ground .
Even if they are , they do have access points , pedestals and vaults , every so often . It's easy to chop em and then pour a load of concrete down the conduit and fill the entire vault to the brim.
A few of these done concurrently at widely scattered points ,would be a massive PIA to repair and slow restoration of comms to a crawl .
Concrete is strong stuff , until you cook it , sat with a load of old tires or a creatively acquired fuel tanker . A motivated individual or small group of them could shut down traffic flow in an entire region for months .
And think of all those very flammable and hard to access ( for fire apparatus ) wooden train trestles virtually everywhere .
Sure hope nobody gets any ideas ...
Ahh yes the rainbow roots
Or is it the right backhoe? Seems like the simplest way to attack something would be to bribe a certain backhoe operator who is already digging in the right spot.....or ship captain, engineer, whatever you need to attack. There's usually only a handful of people, if not one person, you would need to persuade to make a mistake.
@@Chasear89keep watching tv.
Hey man, just wanted to say thank you. From The Wire, to your summarys etc. you've really been a wealthy of knowledge. Keep on going 👏🏻
I’ve never seen a better application of the old military adage, “once is happenstance, twice is coincidence but three times is enemy action”. Keep on keeping on. ✊⚡️up
Abso-damn-lutely
Savannah Georgia: Since I have a fishing license. NOAA sent me a survey about fishing. It reminded me of a census because it wanted data on up to eight people in your household. I didn’t respond because I didn’t think this was only about fishing.
PHISING....
Oh it sounds like fishing, but NOT the kind you got a License for!!
I can just see the questions...
"Do you hunt as well as fish?"
"How many guns do you have in your house and what kinds?"
(I expect they've gotten more subtle than that by now, though.)
LOL!
The Ascension Hospital cyber event caused a hospital near me in Alabama to basically go offline for 60 days. They cannot accept patients. They cannot do any billing of any kind. Results and consequences: every hospital in the Birmingham metro is full, allegedly. All the freestanding ERs are being used basically as med-surg overflow....if you go to an ER, you'll be there until a bed becomes available in one of the other hospitals. This also means the only care a patient receives will be within the scope of an ER. I recently experienced this first hand. 10hours in a freestanding ER is pure misery.
The Acession hospital was an internal event. Not hacking.
@@tsuunited5100 what's an internet event? it was reported as a hacking event and I haven't heard anything to the contrary.....
I work for Ascension… it was a ransomware attack… only they never got control of our whole network. We’ve got Cerner back up and all the other stuff are still in the works of getting back up and integrating it all together again.
So Greed keeps them from saving lives......think about it.
@@kemonoyama2084to be fair they did say the ER was open.... but, I know what you mean. Their supposed mission to save lives seems to end when they are unable to charge the life they save.
Just dropping a comment to let you know how valuable I find this channel.
Ad an old nurse, I can attest to the massive issues when computers go down. Most places do not have actual charts anymore or the proper paper back-ups. I was never happy with transitioning to everything being on computers. Computers malfunction or the whole system can and has gone dow😂n for whatever reason.
I concur, paper charting when we have unexpected downtime is a nightmare
... all by design.
Always have hard backups.
You are the news now, I Salute you Sir, keep up your Outstanding work!

Regarding deployment of black sea fleet, could it be simply a acknowledgment that we are now at war and their assets are being dispersed So as not to be easily targeted.
Polish soldier died of his injuries due to immigrant attack at Poland-Belorussian border
His blood is on the hands of the western left.
Got hit 💥by a "Spear-Chucker " or an "Aspiring Olympic Javelin Athlete " ( if MSM reports on it 😉
The western left and their defense of criminals crossing borders illegally holds responsibility for this!
Tried several times to reply, but replies get deleted by yt. So used my time installing adblocker instead.

These issues can all be avoided. That means this is all happening according to a plan and it's designed.
Not exactly a world changing event, but on Friday there were two shark attacks along the 30A beach stretch in Florida. 3 female victims, 2 in critical condition as of late Friday.
Happened within 4 miles of each other in about an hour and a half time frame.
Even the sharks are angry
Yes, it's right in my area.
Just awful!!!
Praying for them!!!🙏🕊❤
That is odd.
I just know it has something to do with Israel... and the upcoming anniversary of the USS Liberty attack lol
Thank you for this week's GRINTSUM.
Thanks for helping all of us who pay attention, and are vigilant with current events, and such.

One of the revealed problems at Charlston with the ship going that fast, is that when it passed a mooring dolphin (where a line is attached to keep ships in place), one collapsed. It had deteriorated to the point that the wake from the passing ship caused it to fall apart. The US has a huge vulnerability to its infrastructure, and we have GOT to stop kicking these issues down the road. Yes, it's expensive to do maintenance, but it's even more so to ignore it until there's a failure.
True that. The mooring dolphin that collapsed was one of two mooring dolphin tied to a U.S. Navy ship....🚢 It appears that the Navy in this case had a redundant mooring dolphin to backup the one that collapsed.
As the boomers like to say, "not my problem, it's time for me to go golfing."
Too busy sending our money to Ukraine and israel
@majorian4897 as the zoomers like to say "not my problem someone else will fix it"
@@majorian4897 im an end era boomer. hate golf.
Thank you for the extended report. I hope you will do a 3- 4 month report on infastructure incidents and such, simular to what you did several months back about the train derailments and food proccessing plant fires. thanks again S2
Yeah, a quarterly summary would be very informative. Time for our favorite OSINT analyst to apply some hindsight to "nefarious" events.
Worth noting RE: Telecom Infrastructure. The three major carriers do contract with each other to provide redundancy, this happens at the backbone nodes and that switchgear would be highly protected, but certainly not invulnerable, and would be a likely target for a motivated bad actor.
I've managed to avoid every-single crisis that's happened since covid and I have legitimately done nothing to change my life.... idk how this happens to people.
I just go around living my and nothing happens, I'm so thankful for that! 😂
As I've told my kids for decades: Boring is GOOD.
Much obliged.
Outstanding report today sir ... 😾 ... Thank-You S2U.
Remain Vigilant always.

The thing about ships, the faster they go the more wash they have over their rudders. And therefore, they become more maneuverable. So idea rather my ship go flank in this case, then loose all power
Good to know.
*lose
that is exactly why the pilot and captain decided not to shut down the fuel pumps
Appreciate all your hard work, I've yet to find a more useful no nonsense channel than your own ❤
The Wire time for 🍿
Thank you. I try to say it most videos, both because you deserve the acknowledgement and it helps the algorithm notice engagement. But I do, sincerely, appreciate your efforts. A lot of people do.
You may not realize how important you've quickly become to so many. That's not hyperbolic or exaggerated for effect, that's a statement that bears reminding every now and then. I hope you continue to do what you're doing.
✌️😁 Really appreciate the effort you put in, & risk you take to keep All informed with facts 😁 Thanks Brother ⚔️ God Bless us All 🇺🇸🙏✝️
Your content got me to get my Ham Tech and General licenses to practice comms stuff.
Your right about that for sure becareful out there a lot of foreign phone activity increase these last few weeks, today even at the local BMV was being stalked sadly even using kids at parking lots sidewalks its crazy very intense. great video!

Good morning S2☕️🍁
Yep, everyone wants to save the world but nobody wants to help with the dishes...
That is so very true. I blame Hollywood, really.

We gotta get the Underground up to 1M subscribers.
FYI, living near the NYC area, we didn't hear much about the explosion in Sayreville
I like your quick to the point presentation without a lot of preliminary chatter, but why the baclava?
Just so he doesn't get noticed that easily when he's going to the store, post office, ect..
Thanks for your work on the wire. It is a service of great value.

Here’s a question:
Are these loss of ship controls ONLY happening in the vicinity of shore line infrastructure?
I’m not hearing about instances where ships lose control in the open seas. Does it not make the news because no collateral damage results?
Survivorship bias I guess.
It's only important if something bad happens.
It just doesn’t make the news as owners, operators, class, and USCG have no real reason to spread the word that something went wrong.
That said, the most likely locations for a failure to transfer engine controls would be when entering or leaving a port as that is when controls are transferred to/from the bridge wings.
Nobody airs their dirty laundry when it is possible to handle it 'in house.' If something happens on the high seas, it stays there.
shut downs at sea happen a LOT and yes no harm no foul but any shut downs or other issues are logged in the ships records along with rectifying actions. Ships do get inspected all the time at all ports worldwide and the logs are looked at
Thanks, brother
Thank you for your information gathering and cohesive reporting skills 👍
The suspense is killing me
A LOT of different cell carriers are actually on the SAME towers. I was just at a few last week, ATT, Verizon, & T-Mobile all on the same towers. (Not everywhere obviously, but relatively common) Granted, they are separate systems, and usually in separate tower shacks on the ground as well. The co-location only comes into effect for power grid and local site damage. These issues are probably still due to system wide / system management attacks, but I just wanted to provide some on-site insight!
A lot of the infrastructure issues can easily be assumed to be the result of employees trying to do a job they're barely qualified for. I expect a lot of this kind of issue, even without bad intentions
I always like listening to your timely reports. Keep 'em coming.
Appreciate You. RyanHallY'all here in UA-cam is my go to weather forecaster....

Ey brotha' maing.. go to your cameras settings.. find the auto focus option.. now turn that bad boi off. Bam.
Thanks S2!
I know someone in telecom, generally the carriers don't own the towers, and the tower owner rents space to the carriers. It's common to have at&t, Verizon, etc on the same tower, feeding from the same elec/control panel
Thanks deuce! Excellent updates as always!
We gotta get the Underground up to 1M subscribers.

Thanks chief
AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular do share towers, but are normally very separated down below where it matters.
My Rep said it was a backhaul issue. My understanding is those run independent to the owner.
AT&T just announced a buy of US Cellular. Who knows how integrated they are now.
Thanks for the great news. Always a trusted source of what matters to keep our families safe.
Thank u
The black swan event they hyped the last two years will happen late this year is my guess..would be a shame if the power went out due to a “solar flare” and regular folks couldn’t access the market…just remember a few years ago they gave all senate members satellite phones..when the power does go out you have about three hours to vacate your location if you are near a major city
Any other channels that you could recommend?
Literally I cant find anybody anywhere close to as good as you are
It's a bit early but i nominate that for your Xmas episode you dub it the grintsum that stole Xmas.
I only lost AT&T service yesterday, for about 6 hours
You’re awesome
First time I heard about the N.J power substation
Man, The Rolling Stones "Undercover of the Night" is becoming a reality, how prophetic, and terrible at the same time, stay frosty Brother!

You are giving hospitals a lot more credit than reality. Most hospitals have poor infrastructure. As long as it works don't fix it (or harden it). That is the way most hospitals work. Think old tile operating rooms that are hard to clean and instrument cleaning in a dirt basement with concrete walkways with extremely toxic/hazardous chemicals.
