I recently visited Mayapur and Nabadwipa from Bangalore. While the temple premise is neat, the town is not so clean. Yes locals needs more education and awareness but government should provide support to pick-up garbage like any developed city in the country.

that's the point! I just don't understand why there is no garbage policy or help from the Government there. I asked many people and couldn't get any answer. Sometimes I collected garbage there from holy places like Yoga Pith, but there is no place to throw it.

I totally agree that we should make our sourrounding s clean and hygienic .. atleast our pilgrims and holy rivers like Ganga Yamuna and holy places like Vrindavan , Mayapur braj , dwarka Puri , rameshwaram and others .

Cleanliness nad hygiene problems is like pandemic in India. Garbage can be seen everywhere. I am in Delhi and here this type of problem is common. Don't know what's MCD doing but main thing is that not a single person take any initiative.

I am an Indian... and I'm appreciative of the efforts that you all are putting into keeping our surroundings clean.... all the people that you are trying to educate are so fed up with life by trying to earn for their day to day meal, that they are immune to craziness that they are creating amongst and around them...
There have been so many programs mechanisms and incentives but they couldn't be sustained
When prabhu gives us problems he/she provides solution also... if there was a good monetary incentive for segregation and depositing of thrash that may provide some relief for their need for money and give them impetus to start a habit.... once the children get to see the benefits of cleanliness then things may change...
One more problem is what to do with collected waste.... where there is a recycling mechanism there is no waste... where there is waste there is no recycling mechanism

yes this is a very wonderful service. I was fortunate to be able to serve the dham by helping to clean the dham while living in Mayapur. But education of the gereral mass of people is certainly important. Now due to covid and travel restrictions etc I am forced to stay home in Australia. I pay to Lord Caitanya that some time I may again return to Mayapur and collect garbage Krishnas pleasure. CLEAN THE DHAM CLEAN YOUR HEART

Hare Krishna! Thank you a million times, devotees, for bringing this topic up! I had mixed feelings while watching this video. The service this team does is priceless! And I'm sure it's very dear to Lord and to people also, although they may not understand the importance of it yet. And I'm proud that there are devotees who not only care but do something about this problem. But on the other hand watching this made me sad... Because problem is so big and it spreads all over India (even world). And it needs at least a few thousand matajis like this one to make a major change to this situation. However, we first need to start making changes ourselves at our homes and be more conscious. Wish this project all the best luck! May Krishna help to establish the best system for saving His abode from pollution.
You didn't mention about "Zero Waste Mayapur". I know there used to be such organization few years ago, they used to clean and sort wastes and there was worms farm for composting trash. Does it still function?

I am tearing up watching this. The devi who has taken up this work, i bow down to you. I have tried this and know how painful it is that people act heartless. I have cleaned the streets, and seen ppl throw right when i am picking trash in front of me. I come from a wealthy family and my mother throws trash like this. I cant understand at all why she doesnt listen no matter how much i show, tell or yell. In my grandparents' village, everything used to be so clean. Not a tiny bit of dirt or trash or plastic anywhere. But why my mother is like this, i cant understand. I bow down to you 🙏 May take utmost patience and perverance for many years which itself will make her an advanced yogi.

I have day to day stress of work and earning money. And seeing Mataji and some other people who work so selflessly to actually do something for the environment, the problems we face daily instead of just complaining is very heart-warming and emotional for me. We need a proper dustbin management systems. In India, actually we are less more conscious about the consequences of plastics.
We have to guide and give proper education of dustbin management systems to age group of 10-40 years, specially to next generations.
I think that would be the best way to eradicate this problem.
At this time we need our government support until the next generation.

Who are "these" people? They are also one of us. To be honest, i was also one of those people throwing garbage here and there till a man becomes PM and started swachh Bharat mission. The only difference between then and now is that now I throw garbage in dustbin that too from little distance from dustbin, And feel proud that my national duty is over. And if somebody doesn't use dustbin, i also feel the same like you that others are illiterates.
The only solution is to bring the Rashtra Chetna or national consciousness to solve the problem. The day when we have true realization that this nation named Bharat is ours, problems solved. Till then you and me, at max keep throwing garbage in dusbin that too from little distance. Hare Krishna❤❤🙏🙏

And also on behalf of Krishnagar Paribesh Bandhu, (a NGO based on Krishnagar fighting to keep krishnagar Plastic free and develop a better waste management system.) It felt joy to see Mayapur Clean and Green trying so hard to raise awareness and clean Mayapur. Thanks for raising this issue though this UA-cam video. But unfortunately its sad to say, the majority of the population of India are completely ignorant about health issues and the damage to the environment they are creating and sadly government activities are missing on the grass root level.
This is due to our education system. In majority of government schools, kids go only for mid day meal. Nothing except bookish texts are being taught. Go to Japan, there kids are made to clean up their classroom after school from kindergarten itself.

I mean she's doing so much as a woman, which I couldn't.
Amazing initiative! I really hope it leaves a positive indelible mark on the populous. It's literally a no brainer, people would know the misery dirt and pollution brings such as digestive issues, breathing and disease. So the logical adoption of such an initiative would be a simple, but we know that it's a slow process to get people to actually look after their environment. As an India living in Dubai is see a lot of Indian's showing the same habit here, we have some beautiful lakes in the dessert here where people come and enjoy a picnic. Unfortunately I have seen people leaving huge amounts of open trash, even saw some ladies dusting of the picnic cloths with all the trash on it in to the lake!!! horrific. So their is certainly something that a lot of the populus just don't understand (it's not all of them, but a significant amount)

Great service Mataji.. I just pray that the local people understand the importance of cleanliness.. The best way is to educate them.. To separate wet and dry waste.. You can encourage them by announcing the clean street every week.. Use of plastic can be totally banned.. And the Municipalities can be actively involved, in fact it's their job but without the cooperation from the local folks it's very tough.. Thank you Mataji.. 🙏🙏

I hope the message reaches the Chief Minister's office soon. The city of Indore is a perfect example for all Indian cities to follow. Years of apathy of municipality has made people less caring about garbage management. Thanks for creating this video and bringing about awareness regarding the issue.
As an Indian, l will be the first one to admit this cultural problem that plagues Indian community. This is not just in Mayapur or India. This also has nothing to do with government. Even outside India, unfortunately we have a bad reputation when it comes to cleanliness and orderliness. This is a cultural problem and each one of us have to do whatever we can to change this mindset. Wherever you are, whoever you are, let's try our best.
But it is the duty of local government to ensure garbage management. There should be atleast a truck of municipal council which cones on daily basis to collect garbage.
But unfortunately people of Bengal chose TMC over the hope of light BJP.
Everyone’s duty to Make sure spread awareness and demand to local municipality to provide requirements .. as a individual ask ourselves what am I doing for local problems.????
