This was not the project to bring Michael Keaton out of retirement for. That project was Batman Beyond. And now they can't do that since they sprung the load on this one.
I'd like to thank the HT crew for using another of my @epicvoiceguy suggestions. It was a reference to some voice work Jon Bailey did for Auralnauts. I hope when he was recording it he got a little twinge of nostalgia. 🍻
I'm a dude over 40 and definitely pointed at the screen and smiled quite a bit, it's like taking your action figures out of storage and remembering the the good times
I'm kinda agree with Dan Murrell and Eric Goldman take... Miller and Keaton gave great performances, actually. Best scene in the movie was emotional farewell between Barry and his mother. 1st and 2nd acts were solid, in my opinion. Action and visuals (an idea of chronobowl, not the execution) was creative enough. It's a fun, okay to good, movie with obvious problems. CGI didn't work, except for Barry's face swap. And of course, if you don't want to or simply can't separate character from actor, understandably, that would taint your experience significantly.
Agreed. Is it the most earth shatteringly amazing superhero movie? No. But Ezra gave a pretty nuanced and emotional performance. I wasn't sure they could carry a whole movie but was pleasantly surprised. Plus I didn't care if I was being fan-serviced, seeing Keaton again made me happy. And who gives a sh*t if it made sense, Clooney at the end made me laugh out loud. I saw it in theatres and had a grand old time.
From being a fan of the CW Flash, it kills me that we can't get a good movie out of this character! If this movie didn't have all of this derailing fan service all over it, it could've at least been a better movie about just him. I mean referencing movies from 40 years ago is one thing, but giving life to the Nic Cage Superman fighting a giant spider??? Talk about targeting the wrong audience! I got the reference and thought it was hilarious, but that must've been confusing to 99 percent of the audience.
I’ve come to the comments over my Fury at your definition of Custard Creams! They are a delicious biscuit and you would love living in a world where they are the currency!
Honest Trailers, come for the jokes, stay for the Sliders talk, all of which I understand. Yes, even the Golden Gate bridge being blue. Next week, Spencer drops a reference to a squeaky gate.
According to Google, the closest American equivalent of Custard Creams is Golden Oreos - though the American blogger bringing me this information says that the British version is better (though they rate Chocolate Oreos above Bourbons)
Watching people complain that it's not the '89 Batman. It's NOT. It's a different spaghetti strand. Similar but different. There are unlimited universes.
It was rough. When it's bad it's very noticeable. To be fair, I think significant amont of time and work was spend on selling face-swap effect. And they succeeded there. It wasn't noticeable. In generally, it felt like they were played by two different actors.
I know the Flash has to be kind of a weird character, because if he was confident hes basically a god, but Erza Miller is an exhausting actor to watch. Even if he wasnt Erza Miller, this would have been a rough ride.
I mean across the spiderverse does imply miles will try to change the canon event thing thats the main conflict of the overall plot ....did lon finish the movie ?
I actually liked the movie. The VFX have some major issues with polish, the but ideas are interesting. The movie has a decent emotional through-line and there's enough wacky insanity that it was an entertaining ride. The ridiculous baby-saving sequence at the beginning was genuinely hilarious. I'd give it a 7/10
Have to adnit, I enjoyed The Flash. Of alk the Superhero flicks, this one felt like a true comic book nore thsnbanythubg in the oast few years. I like Guardians 3 more, but this felt like pure comic book fun.
What went wrong with this movie? Snyderverse! All of Zack Snyder's movies lost money. Yes, Wonder Woman and Aquaman made money, but all of the DC films made by Snyder lost money. Everyone talks about splitting the fanbase, but splitting to me would suggest 50/50, I think i twas more like 30% liked / 70% hated, then some people that don't like DC made up the 20% that made it kind of look like 50/50. I don't think that was the only problem. Ezra Miller I'm sure some people that liked the Snyderverse didn't want to see a film staring a drunk, thief that allegedly groomed kids and kidnapped people. Well, just turn off your mind and watch the pretty... err, passable, umm, funnily bad special effects? Nevermind.
Hollywood put up with Robert Downey Jr. because he was super talented. I don't know why they're putting up with Ezra Miller, who is a c-list actor, at best.
I really liked this movie. I was funny and entertaining. I also like that the whole focus was in 1 emotional moment and it actually hit me. For example, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 felts manipulative in the emotional regard and not fun or interesting. So I dont know, maybe this movie is just a different more focused taste.
What lon doesn’t understand is that fact miles is trying to break the canon event and also in the movie Gwen father didn’t became a cop which was supposed to be a canon event
Hasn't Stephen Amell always been problematic though? Didn't he basically go 'All Lives Matter' back in 2020? And back in 2015, didn't he basically support racially profiling a 14yr old Muslim kid who had the police called on him for making a clock for his science homework?
Huh? He's referring to the visual effects artist who made all the terrible cgi. 🤨 Or did you stamp this wrong? Edit: Nevermind I see what you were referring to at 7:44
😢Grooming allegations. When Justice League was filming. The cast voice their opinion against Dakota Access Pipeline. Ezra got REAL close to underage native teen female. She denied hope it's true. 😢
This was not the project to bring Michael Keaton out of retirement for. That project was Batman Beyond. And now they can't do that since they sprung the load on this one.
Cool, but I think old Batman can be cast even better. Someguy who is fit but still gives the old guy vibe. Maybe Schwarzenegger? Bruce Willys?
I think it's clear the filmmakers wanted Christian Bale Batman. Man Of Steel was originally intended to be a Nolanverse spinoff.
Next week must be Secret Invasion
Thinking the same. Especially when they mentioned social media trying to hype it up. I swear I’ve never seen so such automated hype over so little.
Thanks - I was focused on movies, and I couldn't think of a superhero movie that has come out this year and they hadn't made a trailer for.
Sending ❤️ to Taco.
Love these commentaries!
Hope the doggo is doing better
Taco is feeling MUCH better! I'm just trying to hang out and keep an eye on him for a few more days.
@@lonharris6768Thank you for the update, Lon. Hang in there, Taco! We love you! 💕🌮💕
Feel better Taco 😢 Sending you hugs 🐶❤️
Prayers up for Taco!
43:58 Dan Murrell reference.
We miss you, Champ!
That one dude is right, Clone Wars needs an Honest Trailer. At least the last season
48:15. I think a perfect example of this would be when James Cameron called Terminator Dark Fate the best movie since Judgment Day.
I'd like to thank the HT crew for using another of my @epicvoiceguy suggestions. It was a reference to some voice work Jon Bailey did for Auralnauts. I hope when he was recording it he got a little twinge of nostalgia. 🍻

Custard creams are biscuits (like cookies) with a custard flavoured filling. They break easily so would be terrible currency
Tom Cruise endorsed the movie because of all the running.
Thanks for reminding me of the show “Sliders” That was a cool show (the first few seasons of course)
“That’s a work baby” had me ☠️
Sending healing vibes to Taco. ❤❤❤

Even if the movie was great i wouldn't see because of Erza miller
From Dusk Till Dawn, George Clooney's 1st movie, and there are plenty of crazy things you can talk about.
From being a fan of the CW Flash, it kills me that we can't get a good movie out of this character! If this movie didn't have all of this derailing fan service all over it, it could've at least been a better movie about just him.

The Flash?
More like, The Flush.
Like a toilet, am I right?
😐I'll see myself out. _(slinks away slowly)_
thank you for the Update on Danielle - looking forward to having her back on the show :)

Better safe than sorry.
Is Danielle on a secret heal turn arch? Is superslam covered by the Union?
Muschietti saved IT chap one from the preproduction version being faithful in the wrong ways to the book. Chapter Two was his from minute one.
Hearts of Stone looks like the most Red Notice since Red Notice.
According to Google, the closest American equivalent of Custard Creams is Golden Oreos - though the American blogger bringing me this information says that the British version is better (though they rate Chocolate Oreos above Bourbons)
Vienna Fingers (Keebler brand) are also similar
Maybe the reason Tom Cruise said he loved this movie was because of the motorcycle Batman rides and ALL that running!
How do people in LA not know how to pronounce Calle?
IKR
Miss you Danielle💙
I liked this movie. I'm not saying it was the best movie I've ever seen but I thought it was entertaining.
I actually really liked this movie. But I get the criticism.
So, Secret Invasion next week. Good to know. 🤣
when flash was announced, Pan was being released.
NO. You do NOT besmirch the honour of the delectable custard cream. Goddamn heathens!
The first 2 acts were great
Watching people complain that it's not the '89 Batman. It's NOT. It's a different spaghetti strand. Similar but different. There are unlimited universes.
When Lon said "this isn't fun" it was so sad 😭
Wow. I haven't seen this yet, but I assumed complaints about the CG were exaggerated, but the shots you showed here are pretty rough.
It was rough. When it's bad it's very noticeable. To be fair, I think significant amont of time and work was spend on selling face-swap effect. And they succeeded there. It wasn't noticeable. In generally, it felt like they were played by two different actors.
The majority of the movie is fine, but the cgi babies, and the chronobowl/cgi cameos were bad.
The Flash, Batman and Supergirl were great.
It would be cool if you did another video comparing the animated flashpoint to the flash movie in a commentary
oh my god. I just realized that this movie could have gone way better if Batman in the end is casted by Robert Pattinson.
The 1 cameo that should have been in this movie, wasnt.
I didnt watch 9 seasons of The Flash for Grant Gustin not to be in that damn movie
I know the Flash has to be kind of a weird character, because if he was confident hes basically a god, but Erza Miller is an exhausting actor to watch. Even if he wasnt Erza Miller, this would have been a rough ride.

That's pretty much my feeling, too; I genuinely enjoyed this movie and really want to show it to a friend of mine
I could not be here this week, but, for me, please do Ski School 1 and 2.
I cant believe The Flash has some of the most iconic rogues and we went with Black Goo venom flash... smh
if it’s an inception poster in his room, does the nolan dark knight trilogy exist within the dceu? 😂
Thanks for actually making your bed this time😊
Does anyone know if Spencer's background is real? It looks too perfect
You can briefly see a person outside of Spencer’s window at 26:56 and 27:17, likely doing yard work.
i quite enjoyed this movie but for the industry and society it’s probably a good thing that it flopped
WB could have gotten Eric Scholtz to play The Flash.
Man Lons voice...
'Somebody has to get from A to B to C' or in this case, not.
I haven't seen a Michael Keaton movie get this much hate since Herbie Fully Loaded.
Have to adnit, I enjoyed The Flash. Of alk the Superhero flicks, this one felt like a true comic book nore thsnbanythubg in the oast few years.
I like Guardians 3 more, but this felt like pure comic book fun.
I honestly came here thinking this was something else.
Simpsons did it. (Treehouse of horror V)
Wow y'all hated this one😂. I quite enjoyed it.
Where's Danielle?
laughs like a turkey...
I swear I must of smoked the best bag ever bc I thought it was awesome
5:19 i can watch movies but 8 hrs of bad tv damn
Opposite of Spence here: i didn't like the 1st 30 mins, but once the two Barry's got together? I loved it
Idk why all the hate on Secret Invasion. Yea they missed the mark at some points but I enjoyed it.
Not ashamed to say i love this movie!
Where is Hal rudnick ?

Custard crème is a cookie, ya weirdos 😅
And a delicious one
Or a biscuit here in the UK 🇬🇧 😊 They’re called Custard Creams 😋
This is one of the best commentaries in a long time. This movie just seems SO BAD.
Why did they recast Barry's dad?
Scheduling issues.

you refering to the kid who made a clock that looks like a bomb and they were playing on that to creat faux discrimination?
"
Bushwacked" most fake hype
17:40 is virginity that important.? Id say its just muscle interaction. We can live with it right
Mediocre Invasion
its looks cheap.
200 million dollar cheap, which is the worst kind of cheap.
Ezra has that They privilege. I seriously could not believe that whiny little voice is real, i thought you were dubbing in a silly voice
7:30 What is also annoying is using they/them when talking about a singular person.
Huh? He's referring to the visual effects artist who made all the terrible cgi. 🤨
Or did you stamp this wrong?

Already doing Marvels next week?
Marvels doesn't come out for another 3 months, at least. Assuming it doesn't get strike-delayed
