Godo, you can't swing it, you have to present it to a king and when he denies it as an insult, wait for Guts to claim it.
Sounds good, now if I could just get some contact info for a King...
@@PrettyHateMachining The prime minister of France or the King of England should do.
@@PrettyHateMachining I heard of a guy named Pretty Hate Machining, he should be suitable for a king
@@Budzabit theres this dude called nuts the berserking guy

@@Schnoz42069 Then he should give it to Napoleon descendant he is 2m tall and ready to avenge his Emperor 😅
im sorry i wrotte so late, chasing lines in metal for this titanic project can really take a toll in your sanity, even in small knives can drive you crazy. i bow to you good sir.
The amount of work and effort... I hope it pays off
When godo says making dragonslayer almost killed him everyone thought he meant the angry nobles. After watching part 2:55 I realized he probably also meant it literally
So impressive. I'm glad to see that a brave black-smith finally made the real real dragon slayer. Hope it won't injure sb
When the sword is 100% finished, you should contact powerlifters to see if they can lift/swing it.
It's me, I'm a powerlifter!
You sir are a madman. Great work
The variance in the angles of the blade is because of the rotation of the earth. 😉
Thank you, Godo...
Dude I’m watching all your videos this is super cool 💯
I appreciate that, thanks!
Now all you need to do is ask the worlds strongest man to pick it up.
Hey man where can i contact you?I have some questions i would like to ask you if i can about swords
SO COOL
I'm genuinely curious as to what the hell your gonna make the handle out of to support the weight of this
Your a damnn legend!!!🔥🔥🖤🙏
This sword will be fun in a few thousand years time if archaeologists accidentally stumble across it.
What makes this better is that is people stumble across berserk and then find this sword in his garage they could possibly think guts was a real human
@@Idranim "A new discovery leads experts to ask 'was the story of berserk based in fact?' as the legendary Dragonslayer has been discovered"
GATSO?
UA-cam archive will be exposed first, man people need braun
It will be used to prove that besetk wasn't fiction but reality
I like how the Dragonslayer's aura is so strong it is intimidating simply being in the same room
Cursed blade!
"This is my perspective." Then I started thinking of reasons why one might not want that perspective.
I was cringing internally, as he was stepping underneath it.
The elephant in the room
@@arandomlilin4605 The massive, thick, heavy, and far too rough slab of raw iron in the room
Good news! Even if its chipped or dulled, it only becomes more canonically accurate, since it is most definitely dulled and beaten from Guts constant battles.
And it will still kill just from the weight
@@arran4285 I am pretty sure guts kill one random armored mf with just the weight of the blade but I can't tell for sure since the manga has literally over 300 chapters lol
Literally, just drop the motherfucker on someone downed stabbing end first would kill them.
-Well, no, Godo used something he called an "ultimate steel" which somehow can repair itself when put to fire.-
Edit: It seems I've misinterpreted what Godo says, it turned out that he was talking about reforging the sword, not the sword fixing itself.
@@Karak-_- Lets see your source on this one buddy.
I'd worry less about perfection. The Dragonslayer is considered roughly hewn so the imperfections are actually just part of what makes the DragonSlayer Unique.
Perfection is my middle name, regardless. I'm trying to make the Dragonslayer as it was on day one, when Godo finished it
Godo didn't want to make anything ornate, he viewed swords as bug butcher knives.doesnt mean he's gonna let imperfection in the blade take form
@@PrettyHateMachining Same here! "Oh nobody will even notice or even knows it's there, stop fussing." But, I do... The mistakes are there even though no one else can see them... I am aware of them. Perfectionist and at time also procrastinate it's a terrible mix...

@@DarkGodSetisame with my own projects, procrastination and perfectionism feeding back and forth into eachother
I don't think people realize this will take more than a strongman to wield, it'll take a mech
Sure, it's pretty amusing to see all the arguing in the comments though.
It might take a Powerloader or something XD
We can get a strong man to lift it. But first.....
There’s the next project! Mech arms that can handle that beast!
@@Yorgh_Drakeblood By that, you mean the Modern Day version of the Berserker Armour, just to lift that hunk of scrap?
Pretty excited to see you finish the process and see how the true Dragon Slayer turns out when completed!
Imagine he somehow manages to swing it and it makes the exact clang sound from the 2016 anime and we have to acknowledge that they made it sound perfect
I'm honestly sure that it would. Check out the smash-a-thon video and listen careful. Big swords make a very loud clanging sound!
there's a video from someone that did make the golden age greatsword, and then he teste it in old furniture, and the golden age sword made the clang sound, so surely the dragonslayer would make it too
@@lordemiraak4747 Yup, that video is on this very channel in fact
@@PrettyHateMachining oh, i didn't realized lol, great video btw
@@lordemiraak4747 hehe thank you!
Anytime you read the manga, Miura always gave us a sense of how big the sword is, but then when you actually see the real thing, you see how insane the size actually is. Great work man, it’s looking fantastic!
This is one of the most impressive projects I've ever seen nothing but respect
That shot from you walking under it. That's genuinely terrifying
It sure is!
Yeah, it definitely puts into perspective why people are so scared of fighting Guts lol
yeah I puckered a bit when I watched that I'll tell you that much
@@Shiratto last thing a demon sees
When did he walk under it?
Now contact a strongman competitor and ask him to swing it.
I bet no one could even lift it properly like a normal sword, not even people like Thor, Eddie or Shawn.
We can barely swing the zweihander, a 10-13 pound sword.
bones crumbled and arms ripped off the torso after one attempted swing. thats gg
@@enigmacovert we? Who is we?
@@enigmacovert Zweihander isn't that hard to swing
People are saying godo wouldn't have cared about that little imperfection, but he probably would have, considering it's on the blade itself
Agreed!
@@PrettyHateMachining BTW great job so far, just make sure you don't end up like rosin or the count
It is so exciting to see a true dragon slayer in the making.
Motivation! The work you've done so far is epic! Can't wait to see the blades get formed!
Thanks godo can't wait to see those Sparks and the finalization of your masterpiece.
I never thought I’d see such a great thing be made in my life thank you good sir
“That thing was too big to be called a sword. Too big, too thick, too heavy, and too rough, it was more like a large hunk of iron.”
... only know can I truly understand the quote.
Sure, Miura made it clear to us, but seeing the "real" version, this hits a lot different.
"heap of iron"
Ohh damn, that blade looks epic. Keep up the good work! Can't wait to see how it turns out
The thing is monstrous. I never thought any blacksmith would attempt to make realistic dragonslayer yet here we are
No wonder everyone gets freaked out when guts just picks this thing up.
30:45 LMAO love how u said the guts sword is too dangerous
That thing was too big to be called a sword. Too big, too thick, too heavy, and too rough, it was more like a large hunk of iron.

I honestly think that 80 grit is just about perfect. The more matte bevel really lends to the ruggedness of the weapon.
Man this is shifty as hell. I most certainly trust your ability to make this without dying, as you uploaded it duh. Me and my dad work construction and this whole video feels like watching him stack boxes on a scissor lift 90 feet in the air.

@@scribejungal3125 😁😁
@@scribejungal3125 fuck OSHA.
Since no living human can swing it, you should try and find some heavy machinery that might be capable of it just so we can see the kind of destruction Guts is capable of
He has already swung it onto tables. The answer is the magnet wench and crane.
This work you're doing is absolutely incredible. I wish you the best in all your work!
love this so much, thank you!
Warping can add a change of angle effecting the Tangent and in turn Sine from your vice, you have a few options but they aren't great to fix, one is grinding down the edge and using a magnet plate just hoping you can get a level plane and have everything still hold a tolerance but risk scale of the blade being a bit thinner or one edge being a bit deeper. Which for a standard sword would be an issue for edge alignment but no human is actually lifting that without having back issues and sinking into the grass.
can’t wait for the new video man yesterday i went back and rewatched all your berserk content and man the quality of the videos you make is amazing keep it up bro
This is coming along so great! It's always cool whenever someone makes a Dragonslayer, but they've all (quite understandably) had to compromise to some extent. I never thought I'd see a book accurate version be made, and your dedication to quality has not gone unnoticed. You're an absolute legend for this 😲
This is an amazing example of how the dragon slayer is not inacurately nor inconsistently drawn, it’s just perspective. From the tip it looks like there is no taper.
Now all you need is a dragon to slay
Minor details!
@@PrettyHateMachining Dw, the dragon is metaphorical!
@@wilsan806 Maybe the real dragon was the friends we made along the way

No need to worry about the nicks, as far as Guts is concerned, "If it can kill anything he swings it at, it's perfect". Plus, I'd imagine them to be good learning experiences, you'll be like the old man who forges/repairs his sword and admiring the sparks in no time. :)
This blade is an absolute MONSTER!! Great work so far and I'm so hyped to see the end result!! 0:
Oh hell yes!!!
Absolutely love the dedication to this project! I’m excited for what’s next!
So impressive. Shame nobody will ever be able to properly wield this beauty.
Right?
In a couple of thousands of years when the average height is 8.5ft, a 9ft strongman might be able to swing it without tearing any muscles
It can probably be easily wielded right now...
On Mars
Powered exoskeleton in the future maybe
Considering steroids are banned in competitions, we still don't know the limit of humans with scientific intervention, maybe its possible
I love the idea of you spending all this time on that one imperfection in the edge when neither Guts nor Godot would give it a passing thought
The pacience, dedication, obsetion, love and attention to detail... im honestly just marveled at this project. It still doesnt feel real. Btw, I know this is probably almost impossible or so but..if some place exist that can really test this, then that place is probably Hacksmith Productions. Just saying
That the diagonal bevel on one side became twisted like that probably means that there is a slight un-evenness in the side bevels, especially since the error was compounded by the other side veering off in the other direction. It doesn’t have to be much, just having a chip wedged between the sword and the table when machining could do it, or one of any number of other factors that displaced the edge just a tiny bit off-center.
Just something to be mindful on if one's making a more 'combat worthy' version of that monstrocity.
I was looking for a reply to this, it's what I was thinking..just dont know how to say it in english 😝
Too bad a blade this size can’t be quenched and tempered. A fully hardened Dragonslayer would be insane! And this entire build is already crazy! Finally get to see the real deal in all it’s massive glory! Thanks for all your hard work, dude!
Absolutely! There will be a hardened version...someday
@@PrettyHateMachining The moment we get the anvil's readied for a "Combat Ready" version, of such a massive heap of raw iron. Is the moment, it'd be the sort of thing, not even Mecha(nized arm)'s could swing properly!

this might be late but to texture it use a ballpeen then use a lump hammer to strike it with to give it that authenic stipple look that it has in the manga
Just seen this channel about 5 minutes ago and seen it makes video game swords a suggestion I’d say is jetstream Sam’s murasama
This blade is something to be feared. You've done an incredible job creating it so far. Be careful, and don't get cut in half.
I'll try, thanks!
Nicks, dings, and imperfections just makes it feel more authentic :) Great job! This build is insane
Can't wait to see the guard and handle done. Great work.
Watching you construct this sword has been amazing! Your skills are admirable and it’s definitely reignited my love for metal working! Love your work, keep doing what you’re doing!
Literally caught up on the manga today after binging for a month. I'm in awe looking at the progress you've made on this. It's gorgeous
I think it's the first and only true Dragonslayer ever made. E bet someone will pay a lot of cash for one of those
I'm very impressed with your attention to detail and your craftsmanship. You are not cutting any corners with this and it is a joy to watch what you are making.
25:44 mad respect for being able to capture this iconic shape while keeping the scale. Just picture of that blade lying on the table is intimidating, true Dragonslayer aura.
This is an insane project to take on and just make me want to go back and read all the manga again. Makes you really think about from a different perspective why people would not even dare challenge Guts. Just the fact that he can even carry it around as casually as he does would intimidate anyone.
finally the guts to make a real one
If the handle is long enough maybe two people can wield it together. Like a four handed sword or something.
Not a chance.
Maybe 4 or 6 people. Maybe.
@@PrettyHateMachining yeah, that's more likely
I admire your work and your dedication to the source material.
Been waiting for a true dragonslayer project like this for so many years! Damned legendary, man. Legendary.
Can't wait! have been watching your videos for a while now and ive loved it
bro thank you so much for making these videos man love the content keep it up man
I'm excited to see someone complete a true dragon slayer!!! Now just to wait on Guts!!
you made a massive slab of a sword that's supposed to be a grotesque weapon but you stress so much about "perfection", its pretty damn good already, the little dings and nicks add to its character honestly. if it was machined completely perfect like a computer made it it honestly probably wouldn't look as good. Youre doing a great job though!
I've heard of Guts before but have never seen it... heard it's brutal. But now watching this blade come to life if makes me wanna watch it
It's worth it! The original anime is quite good
id recommend to read the manga instead of watching the anime. it's just aloot better
@@rocketcamel5049 It is, but it's a way bigger time investment for someone just getting started. IMO of course
Read from the golden age, volumn 3 of the series. Tell us if it is better in this sequence
This series deserves so much more attention
Maybe Japanese could make a robot-arm expo that would swing it around, like Guts would?
Leave those tiny imperfections, it helps make it looks more battle worn. That's why Godo had to repair it after a few years of Guts using it. After he died there was no one to clean it up.
There's Rickert but he can only do so much with the Dragonslayer, he's definitely a better engineer than smith
What do you mean you cant heat this sword up hot enough as well as lift it to hammer it? An Old dying man was able to do it! You telling me you arnt as good of a Blacksmith!?
I cant wait to see the finished product! Cant imagine what kind of handle you’ll need to hold up 300lbs of steel without snapping 😂 glad youre making this sword and not me!
Hope you make a real handle for this "sword", one thats strong enough to lift the blade without breaking or bending.
It looks really good, the grinding took it to another level, can not wait for part 4.
Masterful.
Godo would be proud
Get three body builders in a trench coat to swing it.
I like where your head is at
all the monsters Guts defeated with the sword it would have nicks and chips in it I'd think anyways those just add character
14:28 honestly the color of the original finish is perfect in my opinion. The thing already looks like a perfect recreation of The Dragon slayer.
the more knicks it has in it the more true to the artwork it will be, guts sword is not the clean work of a blacksmith, but a raw heap of, well steel in this case
This is amazing, can't wait to see it finished.
Also, the sword is already perfect.
Sorry, but I think that is a waste of time and materials for an unusable anime sword. To each their own.
I think leaving small imlerfections in the beserk sword is fine because in the anime its not perfect its beaten well used
i dont think anyone would mind if you put the self-promotion in the middle some place, instead of at the end. no one will see it in the end!
How is the handle gonna be made and used without bending to the weight of the sword?
I think that's in part 4....or 6. Maybe 8.
thank you for having the balls to build it the correct size.
Doing gods work, thank you.
