- Hey friends! In this video I make a Thanksgiving dinner using only ingredients (minus spices) from the Dollar Tree! I wanted to keep things different from previous Dollar Tree Thanksgiving videos I've done, so this year I made Thanksgiving taquitos, homemade green bean casserole, homemade mac & cheese, and an apple pie using oil instead of butter for the crust.
The Dollar Tree isn't always the best value compared to places like Walmart or Aldi, but these videos are more about accessibility and getting creative with a limited grocery selection.

She's so talented. I was so lost on what she was going to do with the chicken and tortillas, even up to the point when that was the last two items she hadn't used. I went from confused to awe and once again amazed at Lisa's genius.
That’s not taquitos. They are flautas
@@Boats_N_Hoez I guess if you really want to split hairs about the tortilla size, but they're smaller than burrito size tortillas and they are corn, so they certainly can be classified as taquitos.

Lisa, take a sheet of foil n fold it into triangles like you would to make a parchment circle. Cut the point of the triangle to make a large enough circle to expose the center of the pie while covering the edges of your pie crust so it doesn’t burn. It is not necessary to cut the foil into a circle but to just cut out the center so the crust doesn’t burn. I have been doing this for years. Perfectly cooked pie crust edges!
It’s just myself this year I wanted to make pot roast for thanksgiving but the store I was at was out I’m making chicken as well. Italian panko crusted chicken legs, biscuits with honey, and baked potatoes. Lol happy thanksgiving

You make such pretty pie crusts! My sister had gotten a recipe for fried ies with the dough made with oil, maybe regular pie dough too. She said it was really good, but I never tried it.

My secret to making box stuffing homemade….is buy a couple of fresh bulk mushrooms , a cooking onion and sauté those both with garlic and butter /margarine/ oil with paprika,sage,garlic powder,pepper …then add stale bread ripped up and sauté all together…then pop in a stuffing mix and then add chicken boullion and water.Put that in a greased baking pan and halfway through cooking add some turkey juices. No one will ever know

All looks great! For my pies that I bake with filling I always take a fork and prick holes on the side and bottom as well. I usually put tinfoil around the crust and that way it won’t burn! Your pie still turned out delicious, but I thought I would let you know what I do! ❤❤

Although I’m watching from UK and we don’t have thanksgiving I really enjoy watching your dollar tree videos, we have a similar store called Poundland but it doesn’t sell as many food items as dollar tree

I tell you what, the inflation is crazy. I went to a local discount grocery store and it was so much cheaper to buy a frozen pie than make my own and I decided this years priorities were all the other dishes. Luckily this year is a much lower stress thanksgiving even with making everything else.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours😊. I'm a bit worried about our Thanksgiving. My son is very very picky and I have to be gluten free. We are having Cornish hens...one each, stuffing, cranberry sauce, roasted carrots and potatoes, a special roasted corn, biscuits, and bumped up boxed mac and cheese. There are frosted cut out cookies for dessert. Hopefully he will enjoy the food.😯

I love that taquitos idea. I'm totally doing that for Friday's leftovers. We like spicy too, so I'm going to put in some pepper jack cheese.

Quick "hack" to open canswith pull tabs. Stick a spoon handle in pull tab pull and it is open saves my nails.
Next time you make a pie, use some foil folded around the edges of the crust and it will keep the outside edge nice not burnt.....Hope you have a nice Thanksgiving with your family........"take care and be as safe as you can be"(WT).........Here's hoping everyone that is watching has a wonderful day........

Hey Lisa Dawn. Since you live in Raleigh have you been to the Dollar Tree in Zebulon? It’s really big n nice. I live in Nashville (NC) which is about 20 so minutes from Zebulon n I like going there better than Wilson or Rocky Mount. I have a doctor in Zebulon so I usually go when I have an appointment. Also right before you get to the DT there is a great thrift store called The Purple Shoe. Their clothes are really nice. They also help woman out in domestic violence situations. Thought I’d tell you in case you didn’t know. Btw I love your channel. Happy Thanksgiving.
