Been crazy here and I have not had much time to comment but have been watching! Absolutely love watching your videos with you and your dad. You guys crack me up. didn’t really get along with my parents and went to live with my grandfather when I was a younger fella. he had an older Kenworth I believe that was a twin stick. He always said you weren’t a true driver until you could make a twin stick scream down the road he was always trying to teach me something about trucks or driving but unfortunately I was a salty kid and didn’t want to hear it. I was curious if you could ask the old Time drivers that you know a question he used to tell me in the deep snow in a truck, you always want to check your brakes every 10 minutes never really got a straight answer out of him but then, again, I never really asked. Was wondering if you might have some insight on that on older style brakes on the old Riggs I appreciate it. Thanks for the great videos. Have a blessed day.
That's awesome! We can definitely relate to each other! And I try to make the twin sticks scream! What a blast it is. And my opinion is the stab braking method in the snow would be to keep the truck or trailer from coming around and jack knifing. Letting off the brakes will allow the wheels to roll and straighten itself out. Also it will just prevent from skidding and speed picking up while sliding. But I'll be sure to ask my dad and Diane in a future video to allow you to hear our opinions bounced around on that subject! I personally hate driving in the snow!
Thanks man I appreciate it I will Say this and it’s 100% true when I watch your videos and you are driving a twin stick I probably have the biggest smile on my face. It reminds me of how me and my grandmother could hear him And that old girl When he was about six blocks away from the house
My dad started driving back in the 60’s and I grew up riding with him in his 1965 needle nose Peterbuilt. As the years went on he would ask me questions like, what gear he was in and I got to know it over time. He would ask and I would be able to say exactly what gear he was in, bad move on my part because the job he claimed to be to difficult for me to handle was growing increasingly easier for me to know what I was doing. He didn’t want me to succeed was my take away thought. He stopped asking me to ride with him altogether. He purchased a 1985 COE that he would not let me touch. Whata jerk he turned out to be. We stopped speaking to eachother.
Wow that's awesome! I would have loved to experience that just as you did. Such a cool story man. I'm sorry it ended that way, I can relate for sure but I wish the best for you
