Fantastic looking bike! I'm not sure why, but yellow and red just seem to go together well. I like it! Hope it rides as well as it looks! Thanks for sharing and have a great week, you two!
i love the shape of those old frames. I tried building a couple but was somewhat discouraged by difficulty of doing basic upgrades like adding a modern seat due to the fact that the seat post was too skinny. i think i will buy a newer one next time but with that same old classic shape. cheers!
Very true. Seat post probably being the biggest obstacle. I'm on the smaller side I suppose so I can get by with it but I can't imagine going any higher with the seat post. I too some day nay build up a klunker from a newer classic style frame. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thank you. I guess I didn't include it in the video but I do have bmx bars I considered. I really like the look but I like a little more of an aero riding position. I just feel like I'm a sail catching all the headwind when I ride with more upright bars. Thanks for watching.
lol yes it did. Probably for the better though. I'm just not as keen as I used to be on single speed and coaster brake. Anymore I like a few gear options, being able to back pedal and hand brakes. Thanks for watching!
lol. Looking back now I can't believe I got the colors backwards as to what was original and what not. Seems obvious now that the bike was originally yellow. Don't think Schwinn ever did a dark blue. Thanks for watching.
I finished the bike mid-week last week but just got around to riding it for the first time this morning. I plan to have a ride and recap video out next Sunday. Yes p clamps. Thanks for watching.
I watched the whole thing in anticipation… Questions, What shop did you work in? What was Nova doing to bend a fork-nose wheelies? Was the riding position to far forward and did the seat actually do the job. Inquiring minds want to know.
I'm just building the bike up in my garage if that's what you're asking about the shop? Yeah I'm wondering about the bent fork. No nose wheelies that I recall lol. Maybe smacked a curb or 2 head on. As for the riding position... I finished the bike Thursday I think it was but still haven't gotten around to riding it yret. Maybe tomorrow.
I don't know what you would call it but it's a piece off of a cantilever style brake. Here's a video explaining it a little... ua-cam.com/video/BSBfrmVtofU/v-deo.htmlsi=GIEX4uxfsrY2mHpJ Thanks for watching!
Your projects start like mine …. It’s just gonna be simple and quick…. 😎🔧🔧💪❤

Thanks. Glad you like it. I wasn't sure about the red and yellow. Different for sure. You have a great week as well.
Happy Father's Day Randy and to all the Dads watching
Thank you. I'm going to assume you're a dad and wish you a happy father's day as well.. and If you're not I still hope you had a great day.
@@Locojoe OH yeah, I have two awesome daughters....Thanks.
Randy ! Randy ! I’ve finished my 20” California cruiser build . Got freewheel with brakes 👍
Cool! Again you're welcome to send photos randy@locojoe.com or via Instagram.

What a gift for Father's day! Nice build as always randy! Enjoy your day
Thanks Willie! Hope you had a good day.
@@Locojoe I did thank you
Cool build! Some bmx bars would look sick on it! 🍻

I really liked the home brewed drop out alignment tool.
Also - big fan of handlebar options 2.
Thanks. Yeah I like those handlebars also and seriously considered those. IDK why but I always seem to end up with straighter MTB type bars.
Boy, that took a u-turn in your build plan.😉

You should build a bmx cruise
I’ve just done that . Had to weld in cantilever brakes
The beach cruises look awesome with SE large handlebars
Great build! Why did you end up going with the straight fork?
Thanks! Aesthetics. After looking at the bike for a bit with the curved fork on it I didn't really like it so went with the straight.
Nice!
Thanks Mark. Just now this morning finally got around to riding it. More on that hopefully in next weeks video.
😅 embrace the color, Randy!

Wow! These cool builds just keep on coming. Coffee time?
Thanks and yes.
Wanna see the ride. Wanna see how this rig scrambles! Were those p clamps you used to mount the bottle cage?

Did you ever work in a shop?
@@bike4two810 Ahh ok. No I've never worked in a shop. Just tinkering on bikes in m garage for quite a few years now.
There's no such thing as too much yellow!
lol. I kinda wish I'd stuck with the yellow wheels and just painted over some of the yellow of the frame with a dark blue. Thanks for watching..
Hi I was wondering what you used as the adapter to install the rear brake?
Thanks
