I won't ride you about narcissism (the guy asked us to say how we got on, didn't he?) - 40/40 is pretty darn good for this quiz. Sure, it is "just" general knowledge, but the topics are so varied that it is highly probable that you won't know a few of them.

38 for me. Gecko and syncopathy got me. However I would point out that your answer to question 39 is incorrect. Mad cow disease is not scientifically referred to as CJD. Rather it is called BSE or bovine spongiform encephalopathy. CJD is similar to BSE in that they are both caused by prions in the brain however BSE is the correct answer.

@@Quizzes4U Hello Ben. I am dead wrong. I thought Dublin was in the UK-- who voted to be out of the EU. Dublin is in Northern Ireland, which is part of the EU. Dublin is, therefore a great European City. Apologies!

The one question I could absolutely not relate to and had no answer for was the darts question. What's more I decided to continue thru life unencumbered by any knowledge about this particular part of British pub life.
When I read that only 1 person had scored 40 out of 40 it reminded me of the farmer that was experiencing watermelon thefts. He put a sign up in front of his patch that read 'One Of These Watermelons is Poisioned". When he looked at his sign the following day, someone had scrawled - 'Now There Are Two'.
And, similarly, I'm reminded of the guy who, when he went to the washroom, covered his beer with his beer-mat/coaster and wrote on it, 'I spit in this beer'. When he returned, someone else had written, 'so did I'!
