- Fimi X8 Mini V2 has a new flavour.. Orange!
It feels more robust, looks more robust and can be seen at distance.
This is a first flight - Out of the Box - experiment.
Later I will dive into more detail about the actual craft. But for the cost (less $240usd) you can not beat it.
Maybe I will get a few Pro (Orange) batteries as well??
I have had the case for a few months now.. the fit is a little tight but works well.
All in all I think the video quality is pretty good. The range is on par with the rest and the flight time is average. It's a nice craft.

I see the video is in the "Vivid" selection for colour. But also.. I notice (what I call) "Focal Vignetting".... the lower outer edges are slightly off focus. This is an issue with all Fimi Drones.. It used to be worse... there was actual Vignetting if the whole image.. now it's less noticeable. But for $240... still pretty good.
Sir, where you live is gorgeous! And because of this video, this drone is now on my wish list for a near future buy. I appreciate just real life video of actual use.
They do have a Mini 3 coming out next week. Be on the look out for deals on the V2 and shop around.. check specs. Evaluate the options. Good Luck.

I was looking back over other vids from V1 & V2.. This one is better. Also it's better than the HZMSE.. they both have pros and cons
I just noticed that the camera was set to "vivid". Maybe that is like HDR. I will have to change it and make a do-over eh?

Me too.... The tracking number got stuck for a few days but then it just showed up. For an instance I thought it was the first one I bought.. but not.
Nice! Glad you finally got it, even though it's not the original you initially ordered. I like the video a lot. I agree the bright orange color makes a big difference, as my Autel Evo Nano is the same and this helped me find it in the snow when I had to emergency land it almost a mile away. Very visible in the sky too. I may have to purchase this drone too. Hope you make a comparison video between your new orange toy and your Hubsan!
I was shocked at how much easier it was to see in the sky. Comparing the HZMSE and this one... well off the bat... the camera on this is better... but that might be about it.. other than the long wait for satellites... so I can see this one edging out the HZMSE on the Travel Drone challenge.
Camera quality and Satellite reception may only be 2 factors in a comparison, but 2 extremely important ones. @@GorillamansGarage

Hey Gorillaman, glad you finally received the orange one! It’s nice!! I have switched from iOS to android (a budget smartphone) and the compass was al over the place, quite irritating when it’s good to point the controller towards the drone, this doesn’t happen with any iPhone (Old or new) are you facing or faced that issue with your tablets/ smartphones? I’m happy with the x8 mini v2 and the customer care (banggood) is very reliable. I had a faulty battery and they promptly sent me a replacement (a 3100 instead of the 2200) it then turned out that the battery led was blinking when fully charged just because the cells were slightly unbalanced. A few flights after everything settled and I got the extra battery
I also have found that the orientation bubble is not that reliable. Even in some other drones . I have found that it has more to do with the device and yes IOS seems not to have the same issue. I've kinda just gotten used to living with it. Fimi has long forgotten the grocery list of small issues I sent them so many, many months ago.
Great flight, have fun with it.
For the cost.. it has beaten out everything else (anything of worth) by at least $150
I'd call that a success too! I love my Fimi Mini, but I'm a little jealous of anyone who got the orange one. I wish more manufacturers would offer their drones in highly visible colors
This is my first orange drone. I was going to get an Autel but the sheer cost ended that dream.
Hi GM, glad you finally got your orange Mini V2. The drunken horizon proves it is indeed a Fimi. Looks like your orange version range isn't any better than your white Mini V2. This Mini V2 has such great potential if only Fimi would do the work to make it a great drone instead of just a typical toy drone. I keep hoping, but Fimi keeps disappointing.
I agree... They must be in some financial trouble not to have revamped their drones (new FAA filings etc). I see Amazon (US) just bought out a shipment of Orange Fimi drones and will release them March 31st. Never has Amazon Sold & Shipped any Fimi product before.. they have shipped them but never actually had them to Sell themselves... To me that indicates something is in the works.
It looks great and still takes very nice video and pics. Im thinking of throwing some paint on the bottom side of my new Mini V2. I have experienced the picture problem you mentioned, but not every time, its odd. I plan to always take at least 2 pictures every time I try for an image. I love the editing and placing the telemetry on top of the full size video from the drone. It makes it much easier to see what you are doing. Have you done any type of range test on the new one yet? My best so far has been a little over 600 meters with near perfect conditions. Im jealous of the tablet, my tablet wont run the software fast enough to use in flight. (Samsung 7in A7 lite) Are you sure you only have a 32GB card in there? After formatting, it said 59. :) Happy Flying!

I have the DJI Mini 4 Pro with RC 2 Controller, DJI AIR 2S with RC Controller, & I just got the DJI AIR 3 yesterday, all are fly more combos. I've been looking for a decent drone without Geo fencing for certain shoots, & I was dead set on getting the Autel Evo Lite+, but after seeing review videos of the New Fimi X8 Pro with TX10A controller im leaning hard towards the X8 Pro. Fimi has really stepped up their game lately with the X8 Pro its rock solid in the air & looks to be the Equivalent of the DJI AIR 2S, but with a longer battery life.
Looks & Specs can be deceiving. You roll the dice with a Fimi. As a "throw-away" alternative .. the $250 X8 Mini is a good option. The 1/2.5 stacked sensor is good for what it is. Don't get me wrong.. my Fimi X8 SE 2022 is a beast and has been a great workhorse. But it is a massive drone. The Hubsan ACE series might be worth a look. They have decent cameras and long flight times. But at less than $250... the X8 Mini is a hard option not to pick up.
What have these drone been coloured, white nor orange? Not sure everyone wants white and orange coloured drones. 😂 Nice little drone.

I just bought mine but I noticed that it doesn't have the HDR option like the previous version and it doesn't have the DNG format in photography either. I was disappointed by this otherwise quite pleasant flights. Great videos always greetings
Thanks for reminding me about the HDR. But with the 1/2.5 stacked sensor... its pretty good in the dynamic range area already.... Blows the Potensic & Walkera - out of the water.

I just noticed.. in the settings, the camera was set to "vivid".. maybe that is their HDR mode? I did not notice until I just reviewed it now. I will have to correct that soon.
@GorillamansGarage I don't think vivid mode is HDR since I reviewed other videos in V1 and the option appears when selecting an icon outside of the camera settings Rather, they have not been integrated like the DNG option since in V1 it was through an update that these options arrived.
@@PakoCardenasS : Yes the HDR mode used to be in the Video selection are (like One-Click-Video)... but it's no longer there. I have been switching back and forth from Vivid & General and the difference is almost like HDR. It is odd!.. The Fimi App used to have more options & now it does not. I remember the original Fimi X8SE had so many Video options and now it is limited as well. An Enigma for sure.
is it my imagination/the weather/sun or is the camera in this orange one way more clearer than the white?

I got this one from the one of their 2 Fimi Stores on AliExpress but there is also their official store. It pays to shop around.
What is the difference between the v2 plus and v2 pro? i’m so confuse with the selections lol
a) they don't make the V1 anymore
b) the V1 had a 1/2.6 camera sensor
c) the V2 has a 1/2.5 stacked camera sensor (much better)
d) the plus version and pro version are just a different battery.
They otherwise are exactly the same.

Kind of - sort of... Its called One Click Video. Under the red circle there is an icon like a movie camera... its another menu.. select one click video and you get a few more options there.
