- Returning from Stratford the train approaches slowly as it will run into Tyseley loop. After running round it starts on the second run, climbing slowly, then after a brief pause gets the road and sounds great as it passes the station, then a distant shot as it eases round the curve and away to Stratford
Thank you. 03:00 I love the way the sound of the blasts from the chimney is slightly delayed by the distance and then comes into synch with the picture as she comes closer to the camera.
Thanks, yes I know what you mean about the sound, it's very noticeable with a slow moving train in the distance. It's almost as if sound and vision aren't synchronised correctly. You get the same effect when a whistle is blown in the distance, sometimes it a second or two before you hear it.
@@SharposWorld The reason of course is that sound waves travel extremely slowly through the air in comparison with light. When you hear thunder at the same time as lightning flashes, take cover!
@@srmjo Have you see the video of 7029 I filmed earlier today, another good one!!!!
@@SharposWorld Indeed, very nice. You have a very good camera, methinks.
Sony AX53. Does a good job, although sometimes I feel the 20x optical zoom does limit some of the longer shots. My first, cheaper camcorder, had a 30x optical zoom. Still, mustn't complain.
Superb footage Paul, I missed this occasion due to not feeling to good.
Thanks Mike, recent months have been rather quiet for me and everything has been local. Got a lot of "things to do" at the moment so no major outings lined up. Hope you're back on form again soon and out filming.
That gives them a good workout in itself, the climb up from the depot doesn't it.
Yes, and at that speed a chance to enjoy the sound as it approaches
