This quite a good guide I have to say! You go to the point without rambling about unrelated things, you are clear in your explanations, you take your time, and you take advantage of down times, like when the installation is in process, to give further relevant information about Manjaro. All done in a pleasant and confident tone! Good job!
PS: For some reason I tried to install Manjaro on VirtualBox like yesterday and I encountered all sorts of strange problems, but by following your guide all seems to have gone smoothly. Don't know what was different but I'm gonna give you credits for that without any evidence to back it up!

I boot up Manjaro and everything is fine up until the prompts start showing up,around 7:43 in the video. Instead of it booting up, it gives me a message that says "kernel panic"(and other lines of text) and after that it simply stays in that state. I know this video is some months old but I wondered if you knew of some type of solution

Not sure why this is an issue. There's really nothing that has changed. I haven't and still don't have any issues installing on VBox. Usually that means that the operating system found something really wrong that it couldn't get past while starting. I would maybe try reinstalling and making sure my ISO wasn't corrupt just in case.

    • @JINORU_

I've been running into this issue as well. I know the ISO is uncorrupted so its definitely an issue with virtualbox or Windows

@@JINORU_ From what I gathered this is an issue with Virtual Box. The only "fix" that I found was to use an older version of the ISO(I don't get the error while using older releases), then updating it from the terminal.

I follow the steps exactly as you do them. When it comes time to install the guest additions, "root actions" doesn't show. I run with the sudo command. At that point, it stops recognizing my alphanumeric inputs but recognises things such as return. When I exit, all my keystrokes are recognized again until I try to do anything in konsole via sudo when again, only alphanumeric are not recognised, rinse and repeat.

Somehow I get started in the same screen as before after installing: boot with ... drivers. Did the instllation fail or something because I should get greated with a lock in screen.
Edit: You kindly answered the Problem: The VM will automatically eject the ISO after the install (on reboot). This is so you don't go back into the installer a second time.

I second that. I specifically searched for this video for insight on how to overcome this challenge (after exhausting google). No easy steps for a newbie switcher like me. Let me articulate the issue:
I want to use Manjaro as Guest on Virtualbox. I need to install "Vbox Guest Additions" to enable Shared folders with my Host Machine. "Vbox Guest Additions" runs and installs on all other (ubuntu) distros when followed with the "sudo adduser $USER vboxsf" command. On Manjaro, this is not working! And its such a shame (For me) that this specific issue was teased but not discussed in this video :(

@@mtruo001 I'm not sure where my comment disappeared. Anyway, I got it working on the XFCE edition and came back to say it works on KDE as well. Also, it seems that the newest version (21.1.5) already has Guest Additions installed. So, these are the three lines I had to use:
      1. sudo gpasswd -a $USER vboxsf
(adds the user to the vboxsf group; substitute $USER with your username)
      2. sudo systemctl enable --now vboxservice
      (enables the vboxservice)
      3. sudo chown -R $USER:vboxsf /media/sf_$FOLDER
(allows the user to access a shared folder; substitute /media/sf_$FOLDER with your own path to the shared folder and the variable $FOLDER with its name)
Hope it works for you too.
