Thanks guys, for your truly honest and enlightening reactions. I can always count on you gentlemen to Keep it real, with all of your reactions.😌 And, I agree with you on "Kick Back." When I first heard the song and saw the video, I knew it was a song that would probably sound better after multiple listens. I wasn't too crazy about the song/video. But, I do think the rapping parts, especially with Lucas, were very on point. I like the flow and rhythm of all those rapping lyrics throughout the song, they all went hard on that, and it sounds good. 😌 The vocals were lovely, and Xiaojun voice is remarkable, he has a beautiful singing voice. The choreography is always tight, with what I can imagine people will be re-creating that Kick Back dance on Tik Tok or some other social media platform. LOL...... Anyway, in my opinion, I just think the song needed repeated listening to, I like it more than when I first heard it. Again, I love that you guys are not hesitant to say when you don't like a song and video, that is very refreshing and nice to see. Please, react to the music videos: SB19 "WHAT" and SUPER JUNIOR "HOUSE PARTY", when you get a chance and some free time. Take care guys. Be safe and stay well. 🙂 Suzanne

yeah for me it was a grower. I don’t like the chorus at all. But the chord progressions and the vocals before the chorus are the best part of the song to me. And then the bridge ofc. But I honestly think you guys will like action figure more. That should’ve been their title track tbh 😭

I’m more than sure they’ll come out with an MV for Action Figure and I know y’all will love that! I wish they made that the title track, it’s the best song on the album but I actually love Kick Back
i'm conflicted because the mv is so damn strong but the song... i feel like the kick back repetition is pretty tacked on. but the other parts are so good that i can still get into it (i mean that bridge? godly). anyway, i always appreciate how nct comebacks don't feel predictable so i'm definitely not disappointed. giving it a few more listens also made it better for me, once i got used to the flow of the song it became a lot more pleasant
Yep, it definitely goes from something raw to something fuller. It kinda feels like the other side of the mirror of Moonwalk a bit. I couldn't sleep the night after I watched it (and a few reactions) for the first time because my brain kept going kick kick kick kick kick kick
P.S.-The only thing I don't care for is Hendery's ah we ready kick kick kick kick part.
this sounded more like an NCT title track & music video than a WAYV title track and music video to me... i know they are nct but they have always had their own melodic sound with a powerful chorus & electric guitar dance break... kick back isnt it for me
They went for a mature vibe for this album which is why it's more relaxed compared to their previous songs.
I Initially thought this too but after a few listens I still think it has that WayV sound tbh, the second half of the chorus reminded me of Moonwalk.

The first time I listened I really appreciated the vocals, MV, rap but it wasn’t memorable like I forgot the song by then end of watching. So I gave it a few more listens and really like it now!

I agree with y'all on this one. I didn't care for the song on 1st listen and it's stayed that way on subsequent listens. I feel like this was missing the percussive heaviness (and bopability) of their previous tracks. It's also a bit of a letdown for me post NCT 2020 where I think the WayV members truly shined and I was really anticipating their group comeback. Love the honesty y'all always come with!

I agree. The first time I heard it, I wasn't rocking with it, but as usual after a few times of listening to it again the song grew on me. Unfortunately out of all the title tracks, this is at the bottom.

yeah, I agree, I think for me this is their release I liked the least. I think the song is well produced and all of that, but personally I'm not a fan and I think is too similar to things they've done before so it didn't stick with me. I like action figure better

I mean its the classic SM formula. Its okay but just that. WayV has some of the most iconic NCT songs in my opinion but this was just meh. Loved the visuals though the video was really well produced.
