I thank God for chairman Thompson. He's succinct factual and calm. I gotta admit this is scary, and I've been losing it a little bit.
Mind-blowing testimony. The details regarding Trump's obsessive efforts to stay in power add up to such a clear and compelling picture of what was going on behind the scenes. If Trump isn't prosecuted for his innumerable and very serious crimes, then we should just open all the jails and let everyone out. Laws would no longer have any meaning.
January 6 Committee Rules:
NO witnesses can be cross-examined.
NO witnesses for the defense.
NO opposition view of evidence.
NO member who didn't vote for impeachment.

It is up to the Attorney General to bring criminal charges. Witness testimony for the defense, cross-examination, etc. will occur at the criminal trial of Trump. Which I hope will be very soon.

We are here in Brisbane, Australia, watching all of these committal hearings live. We are mesmerised by everything we are hearing each day. It is horrifying to see all of this unfolding for our American friends and indeed the entire world. I feel so sorry that this has happened in such a wonderful country but I have no doubt that justice will prevail in the end. Leave no stone unturned!! I am in awe of the fantastic people who are involved in this entire event.

You would think the criminals wouldn't want to have it publicly exposed globally that they're traitors. Guess they never thought of that.
They don't care because so far, the only people facing any sort of consequences for criminal acts related to this attempt to change the results of an election are their followers, who might also be referred to as low-hanging fruit. If those found to be leading face no consequences, we can regard what happened on Jan. 6th as a dress rehearsal. It will certainly happen again. And the next time things might turn out very differently and we may actually lose our democratic republic and not just come close to losing it.
There is no evidence that they cared then, or that they care now.

Its very very very very very very very telling that the main culprits in all this, Trump, Meadows, Pence, Giuliani, and many others are nowhere to be seen. A child of 7 could see their guilt. Cheney and Kinzinger have really impressed me in their dedication to save democracy from their own party. As a Democrat, I would consider voting for either Cheney or Kinzinger if the timing is right and if they manage to get rid of the extremists in their party.
I’m a democratic committee woman in PA. I’m so proud of Cheney and Kinzinger that I’d consider donating to their campaigns. Their congressional seats are up for re-election this November .

Well we know Cassidy lied about saying Trump choked the security guard and grabbing the wheel because a police officer testified he was in the vehicle and that did not happen. He said Trump did want to go to the capital and their was a heated exchange and that's it.
These hearings having 0 cross examination. Trumps already been impeached as a private citizen and was acquitted. This is like double jeopardy. This is like a 3rd impeachment trial. Atleast Trump stopped the riot at 4pm with his video unlike Kamela, Biden, and Democrats inciting violence all summer long of 2020.
Their should be a committee for the 574 riots in the summer of 2020 that killed several police officers and several innocent people. 1,000 police officers injured, 2 billion dollars in property damage. Peoples small businesses were burned down. I forget which liberal News channel it was, but the whole city was in flames in the background, and the news anchor was like yeah this is mostly peaceful. It was literally a war zone in the background. Mobs taking over cities and burning down police stations. Throwing bricks at the police. Kamela urged her supporters to help her on her fundraiser to bail out violent rioters, and one of the people bailed out almost killed someone in another riot. That fits the definition of inciting a riot. Kamela said their not going to stop and will not stop before election day, and they should not stop. Nancy Pelosi, when asked about the violence, said people will do what they do.

I must admit to feeling comforted by the actual professionals in the DOJ from their responses. They were being factual and confident with actual professionalism. It must have been EXTREMELY difficult to be actual mature professionals working under El Cheeto. What impressed me the most was the obvious emotion shown by a number of individuals while still being professional. It is a tough job being an actual human, we all have to deal with ethical and emotional constantly. The true professionals and leaders savour these moments. Cheers from Canada

Momentous. Can’t wait to see the remaining hearings and sincerely hope that Democrats aren’t the only ones watching. This horrific behavior cannot go unpunished. Everyone involved should be expelled from their seats and like Trump, forever barred from holding public office again.

I am not even an American (Czech Republic, Europe), and I am watching the US political scene very closely. I watched in horror to what extent the American society allowed Donald Trump to abuse his presidental powers, and I am hoping that this style of ruling (putting a privileged, yet not very intelligent, but absolutely ruthless psychopath at the helm of an empire) won't become a tradition of the upcoming era.

Economic issues are being used by most republicans as a reason for supporting the GOP, who have absolutely NO agenda for the future except taking the country back to the Civil War era.
