I used to see both sides as having opinions (even though one of them is wrong and based on a book of fairytales). But after all of this. I will make sure my kids and kids of future generations know exactly what the republican party are. You have given enough REAL evidence through all of this to prove the comparisons. "Decent Republicans" and this is why republicans need to be kept out of the white house vigilantly going forth this statement alone shows how brain rotten you all are, the fact any of you ever thought you were "decent" is astonishing to me.

I'm a liberal Democrat and I've watched ALL of this. I'm reminded of ants in line. When they come upon a dead space. The ones in front lock together so the rest can cross. These men stood in the gap for all of us that day. Donahue was there on his off time. ( jeans and tshirt. ) Initially declined to enter the oval because he wasn't dressed appropriately. True American. Then later same day you see him on security footage leading a team through the rotunda to restore order.
We are here in Brisbane, Australia, watching all of these committal hearings live. We are mesmerised by everything we are hearing each day. It is horrifying to see all of this unfolding for our American friends and indeed the entire world. I feel so sorry that this has happened in such a wonderful country but I have no doubt that justice will prevail in the end. Leave no stone unturned!! I am in awe of the fantastic people who are involved in this entire event.

If those found to be leading face no consequences, we can regard what happened on Jan. 6th as a dress rehearsal. It will certainly happen again. And the next time things might turn out very differently and we may actually lose our democratic republic and not just come close to losing it.

@karls.4300 Yes! You are right. US has spent decades after WW2 projecting power. We are on the same side & have similar values. But we aren't on the same side as Russia. And the rest of the world recognizes how dangerous Trump is, and how compromised Trump & MAGA is by Russia. If the US elects Trump, then all respect internationally is gone. I don't know how the world would react, but there will be more wars, especially in Europe. That is for sure. US's word and "security guarantees" will mean nothing any more.

Mind-blowing testimony. The details regarding Trump's obsessive efforts to stay in power add up to such a clear and compelling picture of what was going on behind the scenes. If Trump isn't prosecuted for his innumerable and very serious crimes, then we should just open all the jails and let everyone out. Laws would no longer have any meaning.
January 6 Committee Rules:
NO witnesses can be cross-examined.
NO witnesses for the defense.
NO opposition view of evidence.
NO member who didn't vote for impeachment.

It is up to the Attorney General to bring criminal charges. Witness testimony for the defense, cross-examination, etc. will occur at the criminal trial of Trump. Which I hope will be very soon.

I am not even an American (Czech Republic, Europe), and I am watching the US political scene very closely. I watched in horror to what extent the American society allowed Donald Trump to abuse his presidental powers, and I am hoping that this style of ruling (putting a privileged, yet not very intelligent, but absolutely ruthless psychopath at the helm of an empire) won't become a tradition of the upcoming era.

Well we know Cassidy lied about saying Trump choked the security guard and grabbing the wheel because a police officer testified he was in the vehicle and that did not happen. He said Trump did want to go to the capital and their was a heated exchange and that's it.
These hearings having 0 cross examination. Trumps already been impeached as a private citizen and was acquitted. This is like double jeopardy. This is like a 3rd impeachment trial. Atleast Trump stopped the riot at 4pm with his video unlike Kamela, Biden, and Democrats inciting violence all summer long of 2020.
Their should be a committee for the 574 riots in the summer of 2020 that killed several police officers and several innocent people. 1,000 police officers injured, 2 billion dollars in property damage. Peoples small businesses were burned down. I forget which liberal News channel it was, but the whole city was in flames in the background, and the news anchor was like yeah this is mostly peaceful. It was literally a war zone in the background. Mobs taking over cities and burning down police stations. Throwing bricks at the police. Kamela urged her supporters to help her on her fundraiser to bail out violent rioters, and one of the people bailed out almost killed someone in another riot. That fits the definition of inciting a riot. Kamela said their not going to stop and will not stop before election day, and they should not stop. Nancy Pelosi, when asked about the violence, said people will do what they do.
This is a kangaroo court!
And it is not the only one - there were many before Trump I believe!
I'm horrified watching this and I hope anyone else is too. This our Democracy at stake, people!
Again, what is scary is not that these politicians took these actions, rather it is that voters will continue to vote these criminals back into office. Such is the fragility of democracy.

I must admit to feeling comforted by the actual professionals in the DOJ from their responses. They were being factual and confident with actual professionalism. It must have been EXTREMELY difficult to be actual mature professionals working under El Cheeto. What impressed me the most was the obvious emotion shown by a number of individuals while still being professional. It is a tough job being an actual human, we all have to deal with ethical and emotional constantly. The true professionals and leaders savour these moments. Cheers from Canada
