I agree with you on the fit, finish and tuning of the SA6. However detail retrieval and soundstage to me were only ok, and below average for the price. I’m curious to see what Z Reviews does with his collab
I like thick warm sound. Because I am an audiofile dude since last 30 years. And as a ex music producer. I started with the nost expensive valve amps that still producer best tone. And then from recording tracks that always should be warm and realistic. Because voice always should should have that 200hz to 400 to give the mic that realistic live feeling. So I am happy that you got that iem. I will Try to get it too. All the best
Fun fact, i am owner #1 of these. Bought them after 10 minutes of listening at cj. Amazing iems. They hit every criteria i have, especially at the price, i definitely think it is worth 600$, if not more
I use this daily, actually got interested in this after watching the video and have it for about 6 mths now and its running great. Honestly out of all i tested (about 20-30+) only Symphonium Meteor and Moondrop Variations felt good to me. Moondrop Variation clarity is better IMO but honestly kinda boring. Probably better for female vocal JPOP and instrumental tracks I think? (Also I had bad experiences with their shitty QC with my arias that died in less than a year). Meteor is much more fun to listen and great for FPS games too cos the imaging and soundstage is great and much better for rock and other genres that are good with bass stuff (obviously). Chose meteor in the end and never regretted it since.
Looks like a pretty decent turn around time on the Bathys which I ordered last Tuesday and should arrive this Thursday. Based on what Focal says, I’d expect the Sony XM5 to have stronger ANC. Hopefully though the Bathys SQ will leave XM5 in the dust.
kinda sad kinda lava is discontinued, i like it verry much i i know ej07m didnt get the most glowing rewiews but its such agood tuning and tactile presentation that i cant imagine not liking it especialy for portable audio
I'm one of those weird ones that didn't like the Lava. Well correction, I like it, but at its price point I greatly prefer the Variations, SA6, and my recently received Oracle MK2.
So I got the Meteor Mark, have been listening to them for past two days, pretty new experience ❗️ The bass great like I mean always business, voices not super open but still beautiful, treble...Ohh THAT TREBLE ❤️❤️😆 never heard such a piece of paradise or what! But the thing that strikes me the most is the texture of the sound. So much emotional info for me in that textured delicate yet commanding sound❗️Very special tuning...I think they did great, very bold and unique sound ❤️👍🙋♂️
Just watched, what he's describing is not too surprising. I haven't heard Rinko, but looking at graphs it looks like a fairly strong vee tune, more constrasty, big DD bass, a tune that will instantly appeal to a lot of people. Meteor is softer, less macro contrast, more upper treble extension, excels at micro contrast, midrange texturing, and timbre of high frequency percussion. If you're not valuing those things, a classic vee signature is easier to enjoy.
I just went to check my Meteor, if I am stupid or what 😆. No, they sound very special and exactly what you just described. I mean I understand little where is he coming from. But not to hear this radical difference, this carefully crafted nuanced sound ❗️That's why you pay $600 and not $100. I feel like something is missing in the perception.Dont know 😊. Zeos considers Helios mehh and Meteor not worth hundred dollars and Triton is world class earphone according to him. Majority of the community celebrates boldness and uniqueness of Helios and Meteor and thinks Triton is very very nice inoffensive earphone for $899. So 😋✌️Have a nice day Mark❗️
@@SuperReview One more thing, why do you say it's not surprising? I mean I understand some people like V shape, but still would love to know what do you mean by "not surprising"😁♥️✌️
I just mean that vee tuning is very common because it's popular -- it's flattering to average music recordings and doesn't require smug elitist language like "micro contrast" and "vocal texturing" to get it.
Is it your no. 1 IEM pick for let's say "grand" sound if i can spend ~$700 and i'm looking for good all rounder with big body bass, exciting treble and generally good staging? By looking at the graph it looks like my liking but i wonder if BA bass wil be satisfaing, i've never heard full BA set.
Cable connectors are color coded which is not the most straightforward and "foolproof" way to mark them, but if you're not new to the hobby you're most likely familiar with the conventional way it's done, i.e. red is for right channel and blue is for left channel. I like the way Ikko did it with their OH10 - they went even further and ditched the marking for the left channel while leaving only a red marking for the right channel on both cable and the IEM itself. It's more then enough, so to me it's a great example of an elegant simplicity.
The issue isn't plugging in the wrong channel, it's plugging into the correct channel but with the pins reversed because there's no pre molded ear hook to indicate which direction it should be plugged in.
Is the Meteor an upgrade from the Blessing 2 Dusk? Was considering the Variations but I mainly listen to EDM so prolly wise to go for the best bass. I got the Z1R but they are much too big and fall out of my ears.
It's pretty different vs. the Dusk, I wouldn't call it an upgrade, no. Meteor is warmer, bigger head stage and less distinct imaging. Dusk has cleaner midrange and stronger imaging. Both have a lot of bass.
@Super* Review Thanks for the response. Would it be worth it to get a u12t or tia trio? I would've kept the Z1R if the fit was better. The dusk is a perfect fit for my ears.
Hi Mark I am about to get Meteor (still flirting with the idea of SA6 mk2 though 😉) anyway I want to ask what about the eartips the Meteor comes with is it fine...?
Hi Mark, sorry I have one more question about the eartips I do wear M size normally should I go for M size with spiral dots, you look like M size guy too😆, btw I can't see any Jvc spiral dots to buy, just Jvc spiral dots ++ Thanks
Meteor is astute in instrument separation and layering. It is one of its core strengths. Bass definition and texture are outstanding. The accurate reproduction of bassist's - Robbie Shakespeare and John Entwhistle are among the best I have heard. I strongly disagree with Mark's evaluation.
I'm glad you aren't kink shaming and you let folks get hit in different ways. Whether it be pineapple on pizza, cheese on apple pie or a target curve that you aren't that into. We all got the thing the mixes the honey into the pot.

@@NomiSan521 more than a year now, not a single problem with ie600. At least 3-4h a day and there are 6-7h days. Excellent review. Do you find you can get easily lost in vocals like the SA6? And is this a better buy than the Monarch MKII in your opinion?
I will likely spend more casual listening time with the Meteor than the Monarch. Possibly I already have.
Do you have a recommendation that combined the strengths of the meteor and the your ideal sound profile that wasnt present in these?
No not really, hard to compare anything that matches my usual profile preference to these.
How's the sound stage for gaming?
The audiophile translation of "for gaming" is "imaging." Meteor is very nice, but imaging is not its strength.
This seems like a FH9 or FH7s with ba bass. Is that true? Also Is the bass as quick as Fh7s? Thank you
