“Only 725 million “ i am dead
For a historical team with over 100 wins and multiple championships it being the least valuable is criminal.
@@erdemeebilgee3584normally, I would agree. But Williams has not performed well over the last two decades, and members of the team habe admitted that it's facilities are 20 years out of date.
Lack of success and poor facilities and processes will drop the value.
It's a company with hundreds of employees and millions in revenue and investment poured into it in recent years.
@@countrykids6483 My guy it's still a HUGE name. It's still a historic franchise. Forbes valuing them at 725 mil probably tanked their value as if dorilton wanted to they probably could have sold it for 1b+ especially since they get extra payments from the FIA for being a historic team.
@@countrykids6483but hopefully this valuation makes Dorilion want to pour some funds in to it. It’s clearly a valuable holding and there’s no reason why it can’t invest its way up to an Aston Martin / Alpine level valuation in the future.
No wonder they don’t want to let anyone new join
Facts
@@veryevilpersonfromillumina5893it's money in general, prize money, sponsorship money, valuations, etc. The more teams the less each individual is worth.
@keiton9512 don't forget media rights money, that is worth more than prize money!
😂😂😂😂😂
@@keiton9512that's assuming that new teams don't bring new sponsors or fans. If Andretti joined I think a lot of Americans would pay a lot more attention to f1, generating a lot more revenue, meaning there's more money to go around for everyone. I get it that individual teams don't want to lose value, but it's kinda short sided and dumb to think that one or two more teams would really effect the money, especially if those teams would be forced to pay the entry fee 🤷
Ferrari is worth 3.9 Billion dollars yet they can't have good strategies
Valuation is vastly different from results. Manchester United valuation remained consistently very high (top with Real Madrid) over the past decade although they had very poor sporting result. The F1 brand Ferrari is just too strong.
They find creative ways to lose races
@crimmyboi exactly my thoughts! I was expecting Ferrari at 3rd or something, considering how they've not won anything in the past 4 years or so... expecting Mercedes to be on top but they're 2nd and RB 3rd yet those 2 combined have had more success in the past half-decade than Ferrari.... don't get me wrong I'm still a fan of Ferrari, but I'm so astonished they're valued above 2 teams that have had much more success in recent years!
@@kaseyawilson😢😅 I wish that was truly heartwarming!
@@ev-ezaye3580 Ferrari is still the team with the biggest fan base and the biggest brand there with the most racing heritage. On the contrary I find it reassuring that markets do not only take recent sporting results in consideration.
I got $5 in the bank and slowly making my way to afford mercedes. Still we rise (n grind)
😂 We’re on the same page
😂😂
Good luck mate 🙂
Let me chip in with my $10 and we can co-own them. (It'll take a lot of grinding, sure)
@theempires5 pleasure doing future business with you sir 🤝
Merc is $3.8b, Toto owns 33%. Which means just his stake in the team made him a billionaire. He bought in for very little (comparitively) and made himself a billionaire running the team. My guess is he made another half over that time in bonuses and related deals.
He paid nearly $100 million for his stake when he joined in 2013.
Theres also a decent chunk of it are AM and williams
@@rickygu5271 He sold his Williams stake years ago.
@@NotKimiRaikkonen pretty good ROI. 10x and growing, plus a shitload of trophy's and championships
@@NotKimiRaikkonen You are only partially right. He had 15% and sold 10% to Brad Hollinger with clause, that he could buy the remaining 5% in the future, but he didn't activate the clause, so Toto still owns the 5% until now.
Wish I was valued at “only” 750 million.
Move to Zimbabwe, then you'll be worth much more than that!
Don't forget this same lot valued Theranos at 10 billion, and Enron at over 500 billion...
Investors valued those companies at that. Forbes just reported on it.
Forbes just gets paid to write press releases full of imaginary data.
Absolute shame that Williams is less valuable than Hass.
Haas.
If anyone tried to buy either team its more than 1 billion
Claire Williams must pissed. If she waited a year she either could have retained ownership or got a lot more money. Doralton is laughing all the way to the bank.
Williams wouldn't have survived that extra year without the investment
That team was saved in the last possible moment
They were so desperate for money that they were even scamming the sponsor with false assurances and then stealing the money from them them despite their logos being pulled out of their cars (rokit)
Of she waited a year Williams would have been lost from the grid
Doralton knew what they were doing. She had to sell and they were happy to swoop in.
Poor Claire :/
Yea, as much as I like Claire, Williams would've drowned with her still in leadership.
No way Microsoft could buy the whole paddock 😭💀
Microsoft? The company? It could buy the entire F1 business multiple times over.
Former Microsoft CEO Steve Balmer had a fortune of 25 Billion and he alone could buy the entire grid.
@@DimitriMoreira that’d be nuts
Saudi offered 20 billion to buy f1 I believe
Yes and No. Forgoing £25billion on one purchase is a lot of money for one individual.
@@raheem201231 that's besides the point. He could.
Also on the subject of "one purchase for one individual" let's not forget Elon Musk bought Twitter for 44 Billion dollars.
Haas being more expensive then Williams is bollocks
Williams me might have more debt
@@Tomatenking123 still more historic of a brand larger fan base. More monetisation options as it’s such an established brand.
@@Tomatenking123ctually Dorilton wiped their debts, but because that was so recent, and that they’re actually investing in infrastructure for the first time in 20 years, this kinda isn’t surprising.
Makes sense. Everyone knows Williams is an investment in the eyes of their owners, so the willingness to sell lowers the price. On top of that they're extremely antiquated and only appeal to people with a soft spot for bad teams.
Williams facillities are by far the worst
Not suprising at all
I would take what Forbes gives as enterprise valuation with a huge chunk of salt.
Dang... Toto and Lewis pulled dead meat that close to the most historically sucessful team in f1.
The cost cap makes F1 very profitable and that's good for the market cap
That last bit about the jump in valuation coincides with the Netflix series. Brilliant move.
How big of a thank you do they send to Netflix at Christmas?
DTS fans thinking F1 is famous for their netflix show☠
@@80famee Williams sold for ~$200m a few years ago & now Forbes values them north of $700m. Popular? No. Increased popularity? Yes, and immensely so. And I've been a racing fan for more than 40 years.
@@peterf.4268 It increased in 2019 for the show but the huge boom was after abu dhabi 2021
780 million is a lot of money to be on the back of the grid all season
Mercedes was worth only $1 in 2009 when it was bought by Brawn
I love the fact that F1 is getting the recognition it deserves. From a technological testing ground to the wonderful sport it has been for close to a century.
...one must wonder what happened between 2019 and now to drastically increase valuations.
netflix and the cough
276% is the result of the budget cap. The income is the same, the expenses are capped, so the net result goes up (by a lot). Higher annual net result and cashflow means higher dividends and equity valuation.
They havent increased in value its just the inflation has caught up
DTS opened the market in the U.S., and even though it’s not that great a representation of F1, getting more fans, more views, more tickets sold, it all adds value to all the teams.
This bubble has to pop at some point, and when it does f1 will be pissed when they’re left with like 4 teams
The sport is growing quicker than any other sport in the world, off the back of new fans coming in from DTS.
Highly unlikely, given their trajectory and various regs implementation like cost caps, eco/efficency, and homologous parts.
I was expecting Williams to be more than that since they have been in f1 WAY Longer than some of the other teams have
I love racing. I truly do and I love F1. That’s a lot of billions that could feed hungry people.
Or how crazy inflation actually is
It's crazy to see Mercedes at 3.8 in such a short span
So who's stopping new teams from joining? What are they gonna do? Sue them and stop racing?
Ye basically
They basically just complain to the fia until the fia says no
MR beast be like
Watch shall i buy. Ooh look i should buy the williams f1 team
If Kylian Mbappe goes to play football in Saudi Arabia he'll earn seven hundred million a year.
He could buy Williams in a year.
That reminds me must fill up the petrol tank
This is why the entry price is a bit less greedy than it appears. Well, it remains greedy, ofc, but...
It's in part because of that inflated entry price (which may not even be legal it should be noted) that the valuations are so high, amongst other things.
3.9B$ feels like a little bit low for FERRARI, they probably are the most historic brand in motorsport
Wow both close at USD $3.8 Billion & $3.9 Billion ❤❤❤. Easy money babeh 😊
I forgot the part where I started to invest in Alpine
Williams being in f1 for so long and being valued lower than haas is crazy.
I would imagine that Aston is more valuable than Alpine
Why?
Alpine is engine manufacturer. Engine engineers are much costlier than aero and other engineers.
All parts are Mercedes except the skin
Hass machines also probably provide 50% of components on most the cars. He got rich from selling hass cnc machines
one day i will join the team
It hurts that Williams have won so many world championships and are last on this list
725m dollars is absolutely whack, it would cost at least 10x that to buy williams regardless of what assets sit on the financial statements.
That is nonsense mate.
@@kb5509when you have to pay a 200m+ joining fee and ALSO cover the loss of prize money split for all the other existing teams you're already sitting at close to 500m before you've even employed a single mechanic, engineer or built any manufacturing or test site... Try adding up how much that might cost then add history and heritage and you'll get absolutely nowhere near 700m as a price to buy williams. As I said, it's not about their balance sheet but what it would cost to get to the same level of them which would be multiple billions.
Proof that the value is still just in the name, not in the quality. What a shame
Hassle gets some money from Stuart Hass racing in nascar thow witch is almost always in playoffs.
I just love the color of the Ferrari car man. So classic
“Only 725 million”😂
Offer them twice these valuations and see if they’d sell. It’s a hard no.. that should tell you something about these numbers
Every team is worth more than 1 billion.
My dirt track team is valued at around 10k if any of you F1 team owners are looking for partial trade.
That's why they'll keep having 3 races in the US
No way a team newer than redbull is that way ahead of redbull in value and that close to Ferrari. Mercedes is big, but smaller than what it's valued at. In the past 15 years they won as much as redbull and Lewis can't be part of this evaluation. He is a brand himself, not a part of Mercedes value
Jeff Bezos himself could make his own F1 team, and outright own every F1 team, and F1 itself, and the FIA altogether
If Newey joined williams, I believe williams would be top field team
*Only 10 teams and their value are hopping higher and higher everyday*
So Sauber went from 350m to 900m after being sold to Audi... with zero winning track record, what gives? Haas is better and worth more IMO.
Rich get richer eh. The value of money has decreased over that time, won't make much of a dent in 276% though if it's not already accounted for.
Team with so much history like Williams behind Haas feels a bit wrong
None of the teams are worth anywhere near this. Gene Haas loses $ every year; you could buy the team for a penny, plus the F1 entry fee. They split about ; wasn’t it around $350 million total annually. The first place team gets around $100 million, the last place around $30 million. Chump change. The top teams are essentially advertising but RB beverages doesn’t derive $billions in profits merely from their F1 involvement. These things are always blown out of proportion, when real academic economists look at the values are always much much smaller.
Ferrari have so much money to spend yet they choose to use it to pay wages of a questionable chief strategist
@@mgi-ck7su oh right cheers anyway
Rising media attention on platforms like shorts and tiktok etc are likely partially responsible for the growing value dont you think?
Because of new American market expansion. It made 3x worth their value 😮
alpine gonna be worth 200 million by the time season ends lol
“only a fraction ahead” 100 million
I drive a Honda…it’s used
put sum redbull stickers on it and ur max verstappen
@@dylan538 hahahaha!! Yeah I am!
Only 725 million 💀
I thought Ferrari worth would of been in the 5b region
Ferrari is probably the only team that can be considered priceless. How would it even make sense to sell it? What would it be called and who would buy it? I can see why other team except Ferrari
Now do moto gp teams
Haas is NOT worth more than Williams. Heritage matters.
Talking shit about Haas, but forgot to say the same thing about Williams. Literally, every team relies on some kind of vendor. Every team.
And the fact williams have achieved sweeit stuff all in the last 20 years.
Ferrari now: 😏😎
Why have the value of F1 teams increased so fast? Liberty media?
That’s what cost caps and huge entry fees get you
That's the reason why no one (the teams) wants another F1 team. Sorry Andretti.
Inflation My friends, plus the globalization of the sport in recent years, everything is in a bubble
Williams 725 million lower than the haas Williams have 10 constructor championship
Forbes are incorrect alpha and hass are below William's in every respect and its name is worth more than alfa romeo's
This is why Haas won’t go away
Haas: 5$
“Valued by Forbes at oNLy $725 million”
me: *speechless*
Increased by 276%, thanks Netflix
The cost cap helped more.
This valuation is ridiculous because you're out of your mind if you think ferrari would only sell for 4 billion dollars. Out of your mind. It would go for MASSIVELY more than that if they ever 'sold'
Yeah agreed, Scuderia Ferrari is not worth just 3.9 billion
@@cereal-killer4455 small market NFL teams are going for over a Billy. The prancing horse would bring a ridiculous number
You're forgetting they're evaluating the F1 team and not the entire brand.
@@cereal-killer4455the F1 team is. The grand is not. Different things.
Ferrari is a publicly traded company worth more. Their F1 team is worth that.
Inflated numbers. Just like a startup valuations.
Yet another example of the economic bubble that's about to burst again. Although that might actually be the least of our worries
Forbes have no idea what they are talking about. Laughable really.
725 million worth. Yet they want teams to pay a billion to get in
“Only 725 million dollars” light work
there should be 20 teams with 1 car each in my opinion and all of them should have the same engine
L opinion.
Imagine how much worth Ferrari would be if they hired a decent strategist 😊
Ferrari way undervalued
I mean, they are 3.9 billion worth but still cant get a strategist without mental illness to work for them...
Ferrari is overvalued. Ferrari may have been a key part of the old F1 but it's not anymore. No team is bigger than the sport.
@@DimitriMoreira ummmm merchandise sales would say otherwise imagine how big they would be if they didn't suck out loud.
@@robertsestito6821 merchandising doesn't determine value of concept but added value. You can have zero dollars but be worth billions. That's the magic of selling something. The value here is not what Ferrari sells, is what it is. And on that note, it isn't what it once was. Not by a longshot. Plus, you know, your hypothetical scenario is irrelevant. Imagine going to Google and saying "I'm the best ever. Are you going to not hire me?" And after Google saying "you aren't", you answer with "but I could be. Imagine if I didn't suck". Lol.
@@DimitriMoreira that literally makes no sense the valuation is based on how much that company can make if sold. And if ferrari f1 was sold it would make significantly more than Mercedes because of its ability to make money outside of f1 direct revenue. It's basically a luxury goods company with a race team.
Hamilton vs Verstappen in 2021 was a big part of the huge boost that F1 got over the last few years
And yet people are starving in the world... But gotta have our racing
Why isn't the best team the most expensive?
Two most valued teams and still can't get into the top 3 of the driver standings
Williams was literally sold 2 years ago for £136m. These figures are absolute horse shit.
All I want is a sim rig... Only a sim rig
When you say fraction, it's wild that .1 is 100 million ahahha
Where was this data from? Forbes?
Thank you Netflix
on what basis is all this calculated n why has it increased so much in just 4 years 😳
