If you ask me what my favorite song is this is it every time. It's probably THE most popular song amongst Southern rock fans. And yes Ma'am that flute is a rare & fantastic addition!! 🤯
Toy Caldwell! He could put some feelings in his voice and guitar. He was also an amazing soldier, along with other members of the band, during Vietnam.
Connie coming through with a grand slam. MTB were a GREAT southern rock band. Love the flute and they could jam with the best of em’. Great song and reaction Tasha.
This is one of my biographical songs. It is very special to me and reflects so much of my life. MTB is one of the greatest rock bands but still seems underrated today. Toy Caldwell was a Viet Nam vet that can bring out so much emotion with his voice.
Southern Rock is so engaging, accessible, and enjoyable because it mixes in rock, blues, country, jazz, folk, gospel, bluegrass, and classical into a musical Gumbo that appeals to just about everybody.
One of my best concert memories..Plattsburgh NY in the 70s..no seats..just sitting on the floor at the College there..listening live to MTB performing..I never ever tire of connecting with this band. Take The Highway..a favorite also.
Love your reactions, and the fact that you don’t stop the song multiple times like others do. And you’re so pleasant, plus easy on the eyes doesn’t hurt either 😉
Great choice my brother in law turned me on to the Marshall Tucker band in 74 along with Willie Nelson's Red Headed Stranger and I wore out both of those albums and yes I'm still riding along with you girl
The Caldwell brothers were from Moore South Carolina about 30 miles from where I live and I have always had kin living in Moore and would ride by an old two story brick school house that they used to rehearse in and recorded some of their songs in back in the early 70's. I remember hearing on the radio years ago back in the 70's also of Toy Caldwell being interviewed and he mentioned the old Schoolhouse that they turned into a recording studio. He also told the story of how they got their band name on an old interview he was doing on the Bobby Bare Show and Bobby ask him how they got the name Marshall Tucker Band and ask if there, "is a real Marshall Tucker?" Toy said, "yea, he was a blind man that tunes piano's in Spartanburg and one night about a week before the Marshall Tucker band was formed, we had a gig and we didn't have a name for our band. " He went on to say that they rented a place from Marshall Tucker to practice and on the keychain was the name, "Marshall Tucker" He said, that name for the band was, "As good as any. And that was the name of the band." Critics, told the band that a flute in a Southern Rock Band won't work, but they tried it out and that became their trademark. That flute gave a lot of their songs a very unique sound that caught on and is classic to hear to this day.
Connie!! Great song to pick to keep me calm! Marshall Tucker Band...great underrated Southern Rock band with amazing catalog like Heard It In A Love Song, Take The Highway, Silverado, This Ol' Cowboy, etc. Glad that Connie gave you a great song buddy. And great lyrical breakdown too.
I got to see them at Harrah's Lake Tahoe just before the world ended 2018 and they still killed. Needless to say, the ones still with us are a lot older now
Nicest bunch of guys I ever met and picked with. This is a true story, But really it's a true story for almost everybody we all been through it. I'm still hurting from 1991 same thing happened to me while I was on tour got home found nothing but uhual track's in my front yard. But the same girl called me telling me she loved me and can't wait till I got home just the day earlier. Never seen or heard from except I was In a local club with 2 female friends.."groupies" she was with her new slug. But she still had to start something with my "friends" big ugly scene. Bouncers and police you know. She was cute so you know I'm the one getting thrown out. But plenty of resistance.. o Lord mean ole women.
If you've got soul, you can sing it! Makes me think of a another white dude from the next generation. Johnny Lang singing "Lie to Me!" Check it out. Yes, the flute = Awesome!!
These guys were all Viet Nam war vets who got treated like crap when they came home. I heard the song written by one of the members who received a break up letter while he was over there fighting.
Nice job young lady, one of the best southern rock bands of all time, RIP Toy Caldwell Semper Fi brother
Terrible blow to lose Toy so young.

Thanx that he survived his wounds fighting for our country and that they never interfered with that unique thumb pickin'. He's now immortal.
Toy Caldwell! He could put some feelings in his voice and guitar. He was also an amazing soldier, along with other members of the band, during Vietnam.
"Heard it in a Love Song" is also worth a listen. A totally different vibe from this one, but an equally great song.
On the country side of Southern Rock, this was the greatest band ever. All of their songs are fantastic.
Much love for the Marshall Tucker Band. "Fire on the Mountain" is another of my favorites. ♥
Keep rocking, beautiful sister.

Toy Caldwell, the lead singer, was a Marine and received 2 purple hearts from his time in Vietnam.
Yep. When we southerners incorporate the word, “Lord”, we’re desperate. 🎶❤️
Especially when they say "LAWD"
@@gandalf970 yes, and I say that A LOT. 😂
@@Tuesdays_Gone AMEN
I’ve always liked this song. The flute is so sorrowful. You can really feel the pain in this guys voice.
Amazing what a well motivated Marine can do
Powerful harmony. Thanks.

This is probably my favorite version of this song. Love watching Toy belt it out. And great reaction from you.
Great choice my brother in law turned me on to the Marshall Tucker band in 74 along with Willie Nelson's Red Headed Stranger and I wore out both of those albums and yes I'm still riding along with you girl

My favorite is Blue Ridge Mountain Skye
If you drive around areas that have a lot of Biker Gangs.... keep this album in your car. Then play it when surrounded by Bikers.
Can you react to Cody Johnson til you cant. Its a great song with a great message.
Comment for the algorithm. Nice comparison to AH and JD

A song about Heartbreak. (It gets better)
Dont take the lyrics too seriously. We all felt this way when we were young.
