I dont know how,what and why but Boruto series became interesting when they introduced Kawaki's character. It brought back the same values Naruto&Naruto shippuden. Giving hope,treasuring what you have,protecting and dying for your love ones and new beginning. I didn't read or watch Boruto early episodes. I just got hooked again after watching the Kawaki and Naruto scene.

And I have a feeling that even though it's a story about Boruto losing everything, I think that Naruto will suffer even more in ih the upcoming years. His son has a parasite inside him, his other son is also not stable. When there will be a conflict involving Kawaki, Naruto will be the person who will hurt the most. I have a scene in mind. There will be a war going on where the world is against Kawaki, and Naruto will try to protect him, but then suddenly Kawaki seals away Naruto so he could be safe. In that moment, Kawaki will say to Naruto, "I'll do whatever it takes to protect you, Lord Seventh." As it happens, Naruto screams, "Kawaki!" before he gets sealed away. And after a long time, when Naruto returns, he'll see what his two sons have become, and that'll be the moment he gets hurt the most in his entire life. I know, it's dark.
I love how naurto iconic backstory scene is him crying on the swing and kawaki is him getting hit in the face with a pole💀😭 no but seriously with naurto I just be like dang that’s sad but with kawaki I’m like “ damn” cause the hit ALWAYS catches me off guard i’m sorry✋🏽😭😭😭

Tbh Kawaki, naruto and Obito obv have similar back stories since they did not know there parents or was abused by them, have there own unique traits or powers (Naruto - Kuruma, kawaki - karma, Obito - Uchia/sharingan) and walked different paths in life. Naruto went on the good path, obito became a broken hero and kawaki got mislead.
When you realise Boruto and Kawaki are closer to Ashura and Indra than they are to Naruto and Sasuke because of the relationships they have. Sasuke and Naruto were like brothers, Boruto and Kawaki were brothers.
Kawaki is a boy who has nothing and over the course of the series he will gain everything boruto has everything and will lose it all sort of like sasuke and naruto
