Ngl clone nerf kinda sucks when you think about characters like Nago, Ram, Johnny, and Axl who can still reach him through said clone. Especially since Zato has oppose which did the same thing. They could’ve just made it take more hp or make it last a shorter duration as it was fine before.
Yeah but clone kinda carried neutral. I main HC and I saw this as understandable, especially with the other buffs. The only thing I'd like to see change is make it cost less HP then before since now unless you desperately need as second for resources or are in a few select situations (Canceling out of steady aim in case Sol dragon installs as example) It has no real use considering it's cost.
@@windwakerx2723 thats the point, to take a hit for chaos so that he could punish people or get his resources back. Now its a useless button bc it doesn't take a hit for him anymore. No reason to use it unless you want to die faster.
Honestly the scapegoat nerfs are kind of insane to me. HC already has terrible if nonexistent reversals and scapegoat was really his only semi reliable one. Not to mention it drains health on every use. So you are almost making a move that uses a valuable resource and was already not great useless. The only reason I can think of for this is they might be preparing for a new move as we are almost on the season 1 characters for new moves. I know people hate Chaos, but he has been getting hammered with nerfs every patch since season 3. Chaos may be basically always at advantage, but he still has to win like 10 interactions whereas most other characters need to win 3 or 4
i also think that so many people overlook the offensive use of clone as a reversal denial tool. I don't really think anyone who doesn't play chaos even considers clone as an anti reversal tool and that just got completely killed this patch.
@@Alsry1 Exactly that as well. Now if I go for a meaty to start my mix my only other option to bait reversals is to block, which leaves me open to get grabbed. I feel like the one good thing about scapegoat was that it ate an attack, now it's just an area denial tool that can be easily jumped over or just bulldozed through by things like mist finer or ram H sword throw that also costs 15% health
the way i see the 5D change is that for characters that have a sizeable 5D lets say ky kiske you could potentially grab them out of it because of the size, for hc however its still the same size but he steps forward a bit making it easier to grab before it connects also that clone counterhit felt nice.
having no experience in the matter, i would just make it a counter type thing like retreating ice clone for sub zero if they predict an attack, itll slow the opponent for a sec allowing reloading or a combo but if they whip out the clone for no reason they are stuck in lag for a bit
It’s still a wall forcing people to either go into the air which chaos wants or make them attack it to where he can whiff punish if spaced. Needing intelligence doesn’t mean useless
@@TheFakeHatMan I kinda like this idea. Maybe return clone to how it was but prevent hard KD and counter hit if you hit them after they hit the clone. That way you can use it as a "Get away from me" tool. Instead of immediately winning neutral and being able to start your offense.
Hc shouldn’t be able to reload bullets that fast!!! Should only get 1 or 2 at most, but it hardly functions as a real resource for how easily it is to lock-in on opponents. I’m mad salty for sure…but guy getting covered by gun, reloading with super, etc…so tired of this stupid character
I mean, the sweep into reload means he sacrifices all pressure to do the reload, and the reload super costs meter, which he could use on other things. EDIT: Oh, yeah, and shots cost more than bullets. You also spend concentration as well.
People do realize that with the scrapegoat nerfs that HC either has to only reload one bullet and do a safejump or risk getting hit with a reversal right? Vs before he could reload 2 bullets, quick RC scrapegoat to make it completely safe. If he can't focus he'll eventually run out of concentration. Forcing him to focus and do a meaty which opens him up to reversals. I feel bad for Zato and that's about it but the Zato matchup is just a game of who can lock who down first. Pot has enough Hp to last the onslaught and then some. Every other character has a metered or meterless reversal. In short argument kinda invalid and you're just saying remove the gun. Which if you want that I dare you to go from floor 1 to celestial without using the gun once.
@ HC definitely becoming a high maintenance type of character where you gotta definitely be on top of your resources and think about your next combo options too along with it. Hence to why I love seeing the character thrive cuz I do believe he takes skill to use at the highest level imo.

The first half of this comment blendered my brain
Facts people hate clone but Zato can just run around with Oppose which does the same thing and attacks.
@@ImaNeedHalf Cause nobody pays attention to Zato. They just automatically assume he's bad no matter what state he's in now.

2:32 you can just have both characters be chaos so they have the same stats

Does Jack have a youtube channel or any means to contact him? Need his opinion on HC vs Chipp

You basically want the character to not have a gun
That's why focus takes a long fixed time
