Fear & Hunger being someones first project is wild. All of it done in RPG Maker by one dude will always be impressive to me. Even with RPG Maker being fairly simple, this game always felt like it pushed RPG Maker to its limits. Fear & Hunger Termina even more so, what with double the playable characters and all the different scenarios and triggers that need to be put in place for everything to work.
Oh shit thank you! I was one of the comments that asked for a glitches video, I appreciate this a lot, this is sick. Good work, and thanks for reading the comments.
19:05 bug in the video where Frapollo94 refers to Nas'hrah as Isaiyah (which is funny cuz the bug he was talking about right before was where the game replaces na'hrah's name with isaiyah while inspecting a statue)
Every single Trotur bug has happened to me. The one where here captures you while sleeping even if you already gave him Buckman is particularly funny, as it's in character for Trotue to betray you, since he literally commends you for beteaying Buckman. I thought that one was intentional. The two extra Light blue Vials were nice though.
37:51 I have to imagine the Crow Mauler hides inside one of the Barrels and somehow this mental image is so funny to me, i cant stop grinning. Maybe its the Text. The Crow Mauler sitting in a Barrel and waiting, gets randomly hit by a stray Arrow and just doesnt care.
When my friend introduced me to this game and I realised that it is made on RPGMaker, I immediately knew what I was in for. I ended up finding the infinite lucky coin spot myself, which made me insanely happy, cause that's exactly the type of thing I was expecting to find
I once got a Schrödinger's Buckman glitch where the game thought he was both alive and dead at the same time. It made completing the quest where you save his entire group impossible, because the Gaunt Knight would just stay in Mahabre. Buckman himself would stay standing in his cell alive while his corpse was simultaneously in the other room. It was super weird, and I never managed to replicate it again.
33:12 a fun fact for this is that this is a limitation of rpg maker itself, 2 events not being able to activate at the same time Why you can even see this on another game in this channel, MGQ Paradox!
Honestly there's one quote from All-Bones Jones about F&H1's buggy ass coding that always sticks with me and motivated me to try and be a bit more responsible in delivering video games as projects and keeps my passion burning a little brighter. "Note:If Miro can make a game, Why can't you"
So excited to watch this. Hope the glitch where you get the map #3 and run from isayah’s battle multiple times and the cutscenes just repeats until he doesn’t appear and your locked in a cutscene that doesn’t work. Soft locking your game. Learned that the hard way on my Cahara S ending run.
for the majority of the time of this video i was thinking by miself “So this was a bug all along?”, thanks frapollo for give away your sanity to make this video
Honestly, I live the little bugs. Small mistakes in an indie developer title as high effort as this helps remind us about the sheer amount of effort it takes to actually develop a system, and I think helps to remind us that those behind the things we love are ultimately just people, prone to error.
Be careful that isn't the question (I agree with what you wrote tho), the question in other words is, if the game had no bugs would it still be Fear & Hunger? Or does it solely exist cause of the bugs?
You got out of funger content, the recommendations have become more varied and it shows a new sight waiting to be explored. ... Until it all melts down into that familiar dungeon again. You're still here. Trapped. Oh, hey there's Frapollo94 too.
Hey Frapollo I got my UA-cam creators of the year, and guess who was on top, I’ll give you a hint, they’re name starts with Fr and ends with apollo good job keep up the great work. Also when’s the crow mauler kissing stream?
I don't know if it's a bug or if I'm just missing something, but in the void when i jumped in the hole to hide from the blight. Cahara said "not my proudest moment" despite not being there and never having been in my party.
the "gotta go fast" bug actually happened to me when i got hit by an arrow from ballista guard in prisons and then fixed it by getting hit by arrow in torture chamber. this game is hilarious 😂
What I think about bugs, they're certainly not the first, second or even third reason why a game is good/// but they do make game better.... sometimes. Not all bugs born equal of course: when I go in the fight with two-headed crow and he doesn't have arms 'cause I already killed single-headed one, I feel like i've been robbed of content; and unused rotten meat sprite definitly doesn't give anything to the game. But some other bugs give to the game and to the player. Some of them just memorable, and others give you more to explore in a game whose essence is exploration. So some of bugs should be fixed and some souldn't bu-u-u-ut - which bugs funny and which bugs destroing game experience - this topic subjective as hell: when I learn that Marriage can't en garde i just accepted it, but I was on a stream where guy was SO F'ING FRUSTRATED 'cause of it... and i don't have an answer what to do, i just know that total termination isn't an option for me either
I got two more bugs to offer. The first one: if you saw a skeleton arm in the cave from the sergal spear your game will bug and you will never be able to access the inventory again for the rest of the run (you literally can’t press Escape) UNLESS you reset or access to the hexen (this is because you need to press escape to get out the hexen). The second one is not a bug, but the sprite of the uterus when it is looking up and in other every position is the same, so… you really will never know if its looking behind his sprite or not
Cahara not staying behind when D'arce is in the party is kinda funny. Head canon now is that Cahara's thought process is "Women.... I must keep going!"
yoooo, I'm just getting back into fear and hunger and watching all the vids I missed from you in my absence, and you drop a vid that's nearly an hour just today? I have been blessed
I've watched a ton of lore videos, seen playthroughs of various endings, and played a bit myself (but never finished the game), and this is the first time I've ever heard of the cockroach king
Love this videooo dude, i cant believe you made it so fast, i remember commenting the last video for this, and you already made this a video, completely insane so much quality for so little time per video
A few bugs I think are kind of charming, like the 'prevent status' accessories curing it instead, , or the leg sweep door thing. These feel like an arcane knowledge check. But overall I agree with you, the game would be better with the bugs fixed.
I think that Fear and Hunger is a testament to how much people are willing to put up with for a unique selling point. What this thing is, be it an uncontested quality in something, a novel concept in its mechanics and design or just a personality through its presentation and/or writing, that cannot be matched. This is a concept that transcends genre and demographic alike. Games like Alpha Protocol, some of the OG Final Fantasies (Then again, that was a different time, but even then, those games were fucked), even some higher profile examples like Skyrim or Cyberpunk 2077 prove that even more mainstream audiences will tolerate a game being a patchwork, ramshackle mess of a game, so long as it gets just the right things down. I suppose that segues into my feelings regarding the question of "Are the bugs part of the charm"? Simply put: No. Fuck no. Fear and Hunger is an amazing game *despite* its glitches, not because of them and quite contrary to that statement, I think what the glitches and oversights of this game represent are in opposition to it's actual strengths. There are other issues I'll get to later that I think the bugs of this game contribute to, but even at a base-functional level, the ways in which this game barely works is indefensible. By this, I primarily mean the litany of crashes and soft-crashes (Like the screen freeze), which when tallied together, create a rather reliable probability that during a sitting of this game longer than 1 hour, you'll have to hard reset the game. With how the screen freeze glitch in particular is so haphazard in when it occurs, I couldn't even imagine trying to beat this game on Hard Mode without some bug-flxing, either on my own or via fan-patches. Then there's simply the fact that so many of the design oversights and glitches compound one of the game's biggest issues for me. "Knowledge is power" is one of those canned words of wisdom that get thrown around when in defense of F&H's design decisions like coin flips and brutal status conditions like critical state. I agree with this sentiment, though for me, it's more like "Knowledge is OP as fuck, nerf plz". Y'see, I feel like Fear and Hunger has this problem of being trapped between two extremes. You either don't know and the game feels unfair and overly punishing or you know and the game is a joke in terms of difficulty. This game is so exploitable, even without the glitches, that it is very easy to just trivialize everything. I usually don't mind that, but this is a horror game. I think horror games that rely on challenging the player like F&H kinda does need to be unforgiving, but the amount of things you're given to just completely pub-stomp even final bosses like Francois and Sylvian is ridiculous. However, even with all these tools, something like Hard Mode could still manage some tension, as your whole playthrough can fall to a simple mistake. That's where these glitches really show their ugly side. The amount of unintended advantages you're able to accrue just by knowing which glitches to exploit just completely saps any and all tension from the game. Once you have to start making arbitrary self-imposed rules to not exploit the millions of bugs in the game to keep the game challenging, any and all sense of real tension and fear that might be instilled into you goes out the window. This is why I think people should play Fear and Hunger relatively guideless on the first playthrough, because after you look below the surface of the iceberg, the dungeons are no longer the same. They stop being the place of horrors and nightmares, but a roguelike dungeon hack you plug at every now and again. You owe it to yourself to see these dungeons as what they truly were meant to be, not what they become to you once familiarity settles in.
Frapollo thank you for introducing me to this game series recently I finished a run of fear and hunger 2 for the first time and had a great time overcoming the odds of the game
I personally think it's funny as hell after what Frapollo did to connor to imagine the purple emperor turning to look at a camera only he can see mid battle and start complaining about how buggy the reality he lives in is.
I was kinda surprised I didn't see it but there's a bug I've encountered with the Crow Mauler where I killed him before going to Le'garde's cell and when I went to the cell it still triggered the event where the Crow Mauler breaks through the wall but because he was dead his corpse just sat in the rubble.
If Frapollo has a million fans, then I am one of them. If Frapollo has ten fans, then I am one of them. If Frapollo has only one fan then that is me. Frapollo has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against Frapollo, then I am against the world.
I know that frapollo only talked about F&H and not termina, but... There is a infinity items glitch. Basically in the washing machine realm there is a neighbour that can be looted infinite amount of times.
When talking about Nas'hrah's bug burning you outside the tower you call him Isaya around 19:00 lol Also to me the bugs do not make the game, but if they can help you break a game they definitely make it more interesting.
My first mayor bug experience was Nosramus appearing just before the hallway to Legarde's cell, but being unable to be interacted with, just standing there. I got scared I broke something only to find out it was a bug and how many the game has.
16:35 What the hell You leg sweep'd him out of existence Maybe he's just a giant malformed leg or something 38:00 Everyone is called mercenary or something?
Occasionally while Phase Stepping in Area 9 it takes you back to the beginning. Might just be me. I try not to use Phase Step unless it's to go past the swinging blades just to be sure.
Wait, how all the bug in Fear & Hunger (Which is a playable bug) make under a hour of content (Even managing to squeeze in the War Thunder placement, play it)?! That's some serious editor skill there, hats off to you
I have already lost a Hard Mode Cahara run because upon entering a past ma'habre door, the game just gave me a random rpg maker error and soft locked itself, not sure if that counts but probably happened to more players.
i don’t saw the video entirerly but i found a glitch when you try to talk and flee from the combat phase of the door before miasma the door ennemy will actually turn into a scarabs (not the sprite) and so the door forcing will not end and you will be able to defeat easily the scarab without any advanced skills, so yeah it was kinda usefull in my playthrough as i always have miasma in the first 3min
4:28 AHAHAH There were only one single time when Mind Binding affected me and I was Marriage, and ALL THIS TIME i thought that it is just how this skill actually works And that make sense, it is a Mind Binding not some Mind Attack or smth, maybe it is a bug when this skill does NOT affect your max mind

Wish you a merry Christmas as well man ! All the best and wish you new year is not filled with bugs or broken hearths !
19:03 previous bug so big even frapollo contracted it
When talking about Nas'hrah's bug burning you outside the tower you call him Isaya around 19:00 lol
Also to me the bugs do not make the game, but if they can help you break a game they definitely make it more interesting.
sponsored frap video?! im gooning so hard
Bugs? Nah just get mastery over insects
I really loved the video but little question, do you plan on stopping to play fear and hunger ?
25:49 Oh hell naw this happened to me on my first run and I thought I wasn't supposed to show myself because of it
19:04 isayah..?
Brainworms
11:10 ive been called out so hard😭😭😭
My first mayor bug experience was Nosramus appearing just before the hallway to Legarde's cell, but being unable to be interacted with, just standing there.
I got scared I broke something only to find out it was a bug and how many the game has.
16:35 What the hell
You leg sweep'd him out of existence
Maybe he's just a giant malformed leg or something
38:00 Everyone is called mercenary or something?
Occasionally while Phase Stepping in Area 9 it takes you back to the beginning. Might just be me. I try not to use Phase Step unless it's to go past the swinging blades just to be sure.
Yes, I was the one who wrote “O LORD GIVE FRAPOLLO VIDEO” very happy rn :P
"MAYBE BECAUSE YOU WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO DO THAT!!!" IS SO FUNNY TO ME
babe wake up new frapollo video just dropped
Wait, how all the bug in Fear & Hunger (Which is a playable bug) make under a hour of content (Even managing to squeeze in the War Thunder placement, play it)?! That's some serious editor skill there, hats off to you
It's cause I talk at almost 2x speed
@frapollo94 A sick skill non the less
Great video! Have a good christmas
Same!
Babe, wake up. New 1 hour Frapollo video just dropped.
I have already lost a Hard Mode Cahara run because upon entering a past ma'habre door, the game just gave me a random rpg maker error and soft locked itself, not sure if that counts but probably happened to more players.
love your vids, please never stop making them!!!!!
Congrats on getting a sponsor man !
i don’t saw the video entirerly but i found a glitch when you try to talk and flee from the combat phase of the door before miasma the door ennemy will actually turn into a scarabs (not the sprite) and so the door forcing will not end and you will be able to defeat easily the scarab without any advanced skills, so yeah it was kinda usefull in my playthrough as i always have miasma in the first 3min
Frapollo does a F&H run, the game the very next instant: FEAR AND BUGS
I LOVE FRAPOLLO VIDEOS WOOHOOOO
"You feel someone coming back, after long, excrutiating time. The darkness deepens...." *DING DONG* (fight begins).
I'll be watching this instead of going to bed then. Thank you!❤
4:28 AHAHAH
There were only one single time when Mind Binding affected me and I was Marriage, and ALL THIS TIME i thought that it is just how this skill actually works
And that make sense, it is a Mind Binding not some Mind Attack or smth, maybe it is a bug when this skill does NOT affect your max mind
Nono the code which doesn't get your mind stuck at 50 with everyone is present, it's just missing for marriage and nas
@@frapollo94 sad, but expected.
