      There aren’t a lot of trap shooting instructional videos that are readily available. There are DVD’s out there and there are clinics to pay for but, your average younger person wants something like this. Quick, to the point, and right in front of their face. I know it takes time and being compensated would be ideal but this is it.
      If we can get pros like you guys to keep this sort of thing going it will greatly impact the younger trap shooter or someone who knows nothing about American Trap.

    What's your reason for making a sound instead of just saying pull when calling for a bird?

    • @traptalk27
      @traptalk27  5 місяців тому +3

      To not move the head off the gun when calling for the bird. If you move your mouth to pronounce letters like the P in pull in changes your connection on the stock.

    • @enoughyoutube9723
      @enoughyoutube9723 5 місяців тому

      I agree. I call pull without the P.

    Great video. Always a good time watching how the top pro's shoot. It would be good to see this while using a shotkam so we can get a better idea on where you hold for how long, move to the target and what your actual sight picture looks like when you pull the trigger. I use a shotkam a lot when I practice and find it amazingly helpful seeing hold points , gun movement and best for seeing sight picture. Although I will say because of the excellent camera and editing work there is a ton of information in this video. I will watch it before going shooting, over and over. Thanks for sharing.

    Nice work! I’d be curious to know how much you guys tweak your custom stock compared to the factory stock. Grip and toe-out changes seem pretty common, but I’m interested in hearing about other changes.

    Z & R, I always hear stay at home, don’t move, wait until you see the bird and lastly don’t anticipate the pull. I think we can all agree that it is a fine line between waiting to see the bird and getting beat badly. When I get beat I’m forced to come in from behind ultimately making a 30+ yard shot. Is there something in between? For example, stay home but move on the flash instead of waiting to see a full clay? Thank you for your time. By the way your show is great!

      How hard are you pressing the gun to your cheek? Is this causing your eye to blur? If it is a hard focus area play with where you are looking out over the gun.

    I know you guys have talked about holding on the house, but I have been too different clubs where the trap houses all look different in height. Then what do you do? Or all Trap houses supposed to be a certain height.

      Tall or short hold on the house. Ricky never changes it no matter how tall the house is.

    Guys, great video as usual. How about covering how to get used to a new gun quicker? I’m fairly new to trap (4 years) and started with a Remington 1100 Sporting. I recently picked up an older Daly SBT and getting back to my previous average has been slower than I expected. What are your thoughts on focused practice methods to get used to a new or different gun more quickly? TIA!

    Absolutely loving these videos!
    Just for clarification: when yall say front of the house. You mean this open side as in the farthest away?
    On post 2 Ricky says he holds on the back corner inside a little. I always assumed from the podcast he holds right on the front of the house. But it’s actually inside the house. Am I correct?

    What choke do you recommend for ( singles ) when you break the bird at 35 yds from the muzzle ? Thanks. Btw what’s your favorite shot size for singles , shot size for HDCP ?

    • @traptalk27
      @traptalk27  5 місяців тому +1

      Full Full Full FULL
      8's or 7.5's work just fine
      Most commonly using 8s for singles and 7.5 for handicap.

    Why does holding slightly inside, like Zach, promote a whippy gun swing?

    • @traptalk27
