mnemonic - Thinking in Systems (Single Version)

This is the music video for the ambient electronic song Thinking in Systems, by the musician mnemonic. The Single is taken from the upcoming album Open Symmetry.
This track is my first music track released to the world outside, a big moment for me. For the track I used a Prophet 5 Rev 4 for the main sequence - there are two sequences running in parallel, but each sequence was edited to remove random notes, giving it an almost generative feel. A Waldorf Iridium and Omnisphere are on pad duty, and a sampled & stretched piano, with a few effects layered on, made up the phrases - I also used Omnisphere to add some additional depth to the phrases. In the effects department I had a chain with a Strymon Bigsky, Strymon Timeline, and a Hologram Microcosm. I also used a reverb called Butterfly Effect to really slow things down and space out some of the phrasing.
The track came about almost by accident - I was up late playing piano and didn’t notice Enso running in the background (Enso is a VST that allows you to record and replay things at various speeds. check out Audio Damage), so rather than delete it I had a listen and liked it - that recording made it into some of the phrases.
