kyrie and kd were NOT a mistake. They were steadily on course to deliver the nets a championship in 2021 before giannis injured kyrie(out of negligence likely, rather than malice), a factor out of their control nonetheless. Harden for their depth was a dumb idea. Jarret allen should have been kept and caris should have been traded for a minor upgrade to the roster. To say it was some massive mistake is laughable, how could they predict kyrie being injured by another player's carelessness? or the pandemic?
Only bad idea was changing a pretty good depth for Harden, and even then Nets looked wonderful, the few games Big3 played together that seemed a legit contender. Only the foot of KD prevent Nets to achieve Conference Finals that 2021 season. Anyways, I think it would be better to keep good and young players back then as Jarret Allen or Levert. It is obvius at the Cavs right now that these players are ideal with other players as stars.
Yeah and you can argue the same thing about the Lakers (who were up 2-1 against the Suns before AD got hurt in Game 4), the Nuggets (who were without Jamal Murray for the entire playoffs), and the Clippers (who were without Kawhi for much of the semis but still beat Utah, and then without him the entire WCF and still took PHX to 6 games).
And you know what else is massive… THE LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW TAPER FADE
Bro I think people are for getting the help are playoff contenders. What would the nets give the heat. Every spot in the league standing are tight expect for one seed
Yeah Nets might have the most draft capital of all time. Primarily because of the Phoenix Suns. But they got a lot of trade assets too. With a lot of solid young ish role players that could be excellent in the playoffs. I think they are still waiting to get off that Ben Simmons salary though.
it’s about that time again. the nets are finally starting to recover from the last two times they mortgaged their future and they’re down to do it again. insane they’ll never learn
kd, kyrie, and harden weren’t even the first time brooklyn tried a big three. remember when they thought getting the washed celtics big three was a good idea?
Personally, i think trading for players to build a contender is the worst way to build. Sure there's been cases where it worked but the majority dont and with the increasing cost to even trade for any players worth trading for, its just nkt worth it. Just look at the clippers, they're still paying on Paul George and he's not even there. To pay up 3-5 1st round picks possibly more, just to get a player for 4years assuming he has 4years remaining on his contract and then risk said player leaving in free agency for nothing is just way too big a risk, then it leaves you with nothing to build on for the next few years. I get it that that's the risk you take for a win now roster but is it really worth losing for the next who knows how many seasons and have nothing to show for it? The only way IMO that trading to create a win now contender is if the picks you give up are within the timeline of the player's contract you acquire. That way if he leaves and you suck afterwards, you still have your picks. Or if you have 1 or 2 other young stars that would still be under contract and you could try to fill the whole with a player in free agency and hope what you still have can attract star players. Of course there's no right way to build a roster but there's definitely a wrong way, and putting up your future way beyond your current star player's contract is just reckless. Thank you for reading if you did, just another NBA fan's humble oponions.
Massive failure bro what kd Kyrie did their all for the nets to win a championship in 2021 their teammates chocked and don’t forgot that kd was single handling the nets when Kyrie was out
If they do the trade without using this years first buy with the other picks get Giannis and other proven talent with a top 5 pick I can see them establishing themselves and they won’t make the mistake of using there own pick using suns rockets and knicks pick would be more than perfect seeing as you control your future
Players need to stop blaming teams all the time for pushing them to het them more help and when it fails, they have no assets to acquire so called help. If the team did what the player asked, then its in the players for not holding their end. The team is in a bad position for the future because they tried to appease you. Of course this isnt the case with all players and may not necessarily mean its the case in Milwaukee, but players need to hold themselves accountable too!
Giannis is not leaving.. At the beginning of the season I really thought so. But the Bucks have picked up momentum and are meshing well now. So he has no reason to “want out”.
There going to trade all of their assets for giannis antetokounmpo and he's going to leave after one year and probably signed with a team like Memphis or Golden State 😂😂 the nets are historically cursed when it comes to having a super team
No. We lost by 60, and are selling shop. Manifesting Kasparas and Cam Thomas backcourt, with four additional rookies and 90 million in cap space when the new CBA hits
thats basically dame and giannis but with someone who might be more efficient but thats all, it wont solve their problems and given Dame's higher volume scoring, the fact that he's already spent the time to work into the system, and even improved on defence (I'm not saying he's good or anything but he's not a huge liability most of the time now so thats better than before) it might even be a downgrade to trade for Curry especially cuz his value is also higher than Dame's so Milwaukee would have to give up even more than just Dame, when even just Dame for Curry is a questionable move in terms of defence, team chemistry and scoring volume.
spring harden was really good, but he left a bad taste in everyone's mouth the way he abandoned everyone and forced his way out just to go do the same thing in philly for a third straight team
Giannis on the nets sounds cursed to say out loud

but dlo, both cams and Ben Simmons were all injured

I wouldn't bet on that, he's been growing more and more entitled as the years have gone on.
No more Thanasis on the team means that he can go wherever he wants.
I think he will he wants to win
I. Mean Gianni's already won a ring for Milwaukee like he said he would, he might leave in the next few seasons.
