- Want to see how to make a straw basket bag? I am loving the straw and wicker basket bags that are on trend at the moment. I have seen some amazing DIY’s showing how to make them so I thought I would have a go at making one for myself. The great thing about my DIY is that you will only need some glue, an old handbag strap and a basket. There is no sewing with this DIY and you can quickly knock one up. There are so many ways in which you can personalise your bag, you can get creative and add your own stamp to this DIY.

Such a creative way to make a unique purse that really suits you. It so goes with your pretty dress. Now that wicker baskets are such huge trend for decor & purses this is a perfect way to do it for probably 1/4 of the cost. TFS!

You're so creative with all the ideas you come up with. What a cute basket to find and the price has amazed me. I have never heard of that shop so I will have to hunt it down. Sounds like my kinda place and my kinda budget lol.

Just to add... I looked up their website. Gorgeous website and I can't get to one of their shops quick enough lol. Need to get to dublin or athlone or cork or limerick asap haha. In a spin trying to pick the direction cos I live down in portarlington so I'm smack bang in the middle of them all.
But anyway Catherine they have a section on the website called DIY corner or craft corner and they have beautiful little short videos of ideas with how tos loads of inspo. But I think you should send them this video. Serious xxx

It's a danish brand Søstrene Grene (The Sisters Grene) I could really imagine you liking them! :) I also loved this simple DIY - I think it can be a great way to upcycle thrift store finds or old things laying at home.

This is fab, the only bit I'm not keen on is the material that attaches the lid, it would be nicer with a prettier piece of material in maybe a flower shape for a better finish, which is usually more your style, sorry if this sounds critical.

I had seen some people making the round bags on UA-cam and they were using coasters. I was out rambling on my lunch break and I saw the little basket and I just got the idea to add some straps to it x Thanks so much for watching! x
What a great idea I need one of those but I guess I will need something a little bigger as I carry a lot of medications with me etc. Even my wallet would not fit inside it as my is RFID protected and requires a large space. I'm thinking if I find a small one like this I will make it for my granddaughter so she has one. Again loved the idea many thanks for sharing it with us

I just love the basket type now I will have to wait to go shopping at Home Goods and see what they have. I am not allowed to drive yet because of the surgery. Once I make one I'll share a picture with you and I just love your dress who's brand is it M&S? We finally got Pennys here so I will need to visit and let you know how I make out its about 4 hr drive from here.

Not for every day, but perfect for an evening (dinner) when you just want your phone, cards and some cash.
