Lots of Storms. Idalia will impact Bermuda and then we are watching a new disturbance over Africa. That one needs to be watched closely. Thanks for watching! - Jonathan More on the tropics! www.clickorlando.com/weather/2023/09/01/tropics-stay-red-hot-tropical-depression-12-forms-in-the-atlantic/
I'm following! I learned more about Idalia here than I have been able to over the last 2 days of searching. The car-flipping tornado in S.C. is being shown over and over again, as a car flip is so much more sensational than useful information.
It's getting a little crowded out there in the Atlantic. If this keeps up they're going to need traffic cops. PS - Thank you, Jonathan. New subscriber here. I have been tracking hurricanes since my very first one, Hurricane Bell, back in 1976. I'm originally from New Jersey, living in northern Georgia now. 😀
What? Enjoy the people that post models without context then. Sorry others got lucky with the initial stages of its life. And I didn’t admit I was clueless. - Jonathan
Basically el níno basically means below average season and la nína means above average season. This year the Atlantic is in el níno which means we aren’t gonna have as many tropical cyclones like in 2019 or 2020 for example. Yes we already have gone through a few names on this years list but we probably won’t use them all this year.
Hi! Thank you! El Niño typically increases wind shear in the Atlantic which helps to limit storm development. This year though we haven’t seen the typical amounts of wind shear…likely because of how hot the water is in the Atlantic. But typically it’s a less active season. - Jonathan

Any signs of Southern Florida being in the track of anything in the next 10-12 days??? I appreciate your videos a lot and would appreciate a reply 🤝🤝🤝🤝. Thank you!!!!
Hi! Nothing set in stone, but we are watching that area that rolled off of Africa yesterday. Development is likely and it is very low. If it doesn’t hitch a ride out to see…it could impact the Bahamas and south Florida. Bears close watching for the September 12-14 range. Appreciate you! - Jonathan
What I’m saying is we had 6 storms form in august and we are likely to have two more in the coming days. That’s a lot of named storms in a short period of time even for the peak. - Jonathan
Haha haven’t been able to post cause we were doing live Idalia coverage on our News Station page. We are in Orlando so were under the gun! Good to be back! Haha! - Jonathan
no, The media gives that negative vibe so when i see your video, I get that same impression. Don't mean to be negative. I just hate the media. @@just_weather
@@just_weather The media emphasises doom and gloom. They drill it every day on the radio and tv to everyone. It's part of a grand plan. I'm not buying it. You show hurricanes everywhere it reminds me of destructions which is the medias selling point. They never mention anything positive because they don't make money with positivity. They make money with drama. The media has become like a soap opera trying to keep you in suspense like a soap opera. What's on the news for the past few years? Court cases. The one thing you constantly see in soap operas. That's how they garantee ratings for themselves. It's a pathetic. I'm an eastern orthodox christian. I shut it all out.
Thank you for your reply. I work in news in Orlando. I’m a meteorologist there. People tune into the news to see what’s going on in the community and government. People care about their safety and what leaders are doing to protect them. Unfortunately there’s just a lot of bad news and we have to cover it. It truly means nothing for the ratings. On our newscasts in Orlando we have several segments to showcase positive news in the community…for example our state trooper traffic anchor “gets results on patrol” and fixes problems in the community. We have a “something good” segment which highlights people doing good for the community. We also have a getting results award that showcases individuals that helps others. It’s not fair to say that the news is doom and gloom. That’s what you may associate with because there unfortunately is so much negative news out there, but the role of local news is to be in the community and help it. On the weather front, there are hurricanes out there that could impact people. I try my best to give a scientific approach and not being hype or fear into like so many other UA-cam channels. Like the news, the weather is happening, it’s my job to talk about it so people know and understand what’s going on. Thank you for this conversation. I truly hope it shed some light that we aren’t all doom and gloom and we care about the community and people that live in it. Our families are there too. - Jonathan

You underestimated me with Idalia and that wasn’t good. I was right about it impacting Florida.
I did underestimate the intensity. But it was always coming to Florida. That much I said. - Jonathan

Hurricane during hurricane season, oh my, has this ever happened before, oh my
Stop trolling. Yeah there have been hurricanes but you want to be blindsided by one? I think not. - Jonathan
Now What happens when two hurricanes collide?
It’s almost impossible. They would do something known as Fujiwara and pinwheel around each other! - Jonathan
Not letting up ? It's only September

Should get pretty quiet after mid September. End of hurricane season
It should, but it appears another spike is coming after that. This isn’t behaving like a typical El Niño . - Jonathan
The end of hurricane season is Nov 1st.
Virgo ♍ storms deadly and costly
Why do you have to talk on top of the microphone? It can here you across the room
