regular cars that we are free to modify is actually some of the most fun to be had in a horizon game

Don't know what it is, but I LOVE the styling on this generation F-150. Design has aged very well imo
in the 80s-2000s dodge chev and ford had vehicles called muscle trucks and the ford lightning is fords muscle truck

I know the bed flare generation of the F-150 was controversial in its design. Some loved it, some hated it. For me, it’s the best looking Gen of F-150.
3:07 we wanted that but sadly Ford turned the lightning into a generic truck with an electric motor. Not that I got a problem with an EV F150, I just got a problem that they used the lightning name for that instead of saving it for a 2 door F150 with a detuned GT500 v8.
i mean it would have been cool if they had made it what it is. but lowered with a body kit and a cool interior. but its just a basic awd truck with an electric motor and some blue accents, cause EV.
My buddy has a Lightening, as wheel as a 2V Mustang GT. With an exhaust, intake and a tune, they are pretty quick. In person, on the road, they are really impressive for a 20 year old truck.

I don’t know why, but this truck reminds me a little bit of the Mercedes-Benz X-Class when they added it to FH4 (but of course the F-150 is 10x better than the X-Class)

There was going to be a sister to the lightening called the ford thunder which would be almost the same platform the expedition but svt came up with that idea to late at the time the expedition was getting a face lift the next year so svt scrapped the thunder

I remember racing against this car in Ford Racing 3, it was annoyingly fast in the bot's hands
I didn’t know this but on @Donut media’s UA-cam channel there was a 2003 Ford Expedition with a f150 lighting engine and a ton of f150 lightning style body parts, it was called the ford thunder and there was only one ever produced

Actually Nick the F-150 Lightning was not built to go head to head with the GMC Syclone or the Typhoon. Those vehicles were no longer being produced when the first generation Lightning came out. The Lightning was meant to go head to head with the Chevrolet 454SS truck that had came out. The Lightning was Ford's answer to the high performance truck market of that time.

The Raptor was made to replace the Lightning. When the new generation 2004 F150 was made, a SVT Lightning Concept truck was made, but was deemed unreasonable to make (brakes, tires, and more had to be way larger to compensate for the larger and heavier truck). As a on-road street truck was out of question as a production vehicle, the next logical move was to create an off road successor where the weight was not really as big a deal. That’s why they weren’t sold together, and especially that the Raptor is quite popular and a street truck nowadays that lacks towing ability and cargo capacity for the sake of being said street truck would sell like the Chevy SS and the Dodge Viper, cars that were good and appreciated by enthusiasts, but no one bought

I have been, sorry we have been asking for this forever it is an animal with the racing 7.2 in a 1300hp 3500 lb rwd drag truck tune I'm super impressed and finally happy to have one of the models of the truck I have (only it's 4 door)

also, you should've left the stock engine in it; It sounded the best, and also also, if anything, Paul Walker would've put an RB26DETT in that F150, not a 2Jz. He might've drove a supra, but he was 1000% GTR all the way. Even says so in Fast7 when Dom gives his son the Charger and Walker responds, "You mean skyline?"
If they brung the lighting maybe they might bring the SRT 10 RAM
The lightning was more of a competitor for the 1990-1993 Chevrolet 454 SS truck. I’m honestly amazed that truck hasn’t been in forza they’re really cool.

You need to use the Auto Union Type D . That will drift whatever you do to it

The Lightning was not built to compete with they Syclone and Typhoon. It was built to compete with Chevy's 454 SS
I used the 22B to win the trial Red vs Blue, won the first two races with it, the AI couldn’t keep up with it. I also have to thank the other drivers As well for doing a great job so we won the trial.

Fun fact about the Lightning the 2006 Ford GT and this lightning share the same engine
The Ford GT shared the same 5.4L engine displacement, but that’s about it. The GT used a unique aluminum block, 4V heads, different pistons, rods, crank, dry sump oiling system, and a much larger 2.3L supercharger.
The GT engine shared more similarities with the Shelby GT500 engine which came out afterward in 2007 and was also a 4V design.

The Lightning"s popularity doesn't have anything to do with FnF. It was the only muscle truck in that time period besides the SRT Ram which came later than this model. It was the world's fastest* truck for awhile and was acclaimed by critics.
They still need to add the SRT10 Ram to fh5

How long do you think it's going to take for nick to realize that pretty much every car in the forza universe can become a drift machine. I mean I count at least a dozen times (and it's probably more) that he's been floored that a new car can actually drift, or that he's gotten yet another new personal best for that matter

Really cool vid lol buuut, everyone seems to still be having fun on drift zones, even though these same people played the game back when the way scores counted were totally bugged. I still have stupid unrealistic pre-series 2 drift scores… is there any way I can remove that so I can -actually- compete with my buds? Then again, we are all in the same boat I guess lmao. I got 1,180,600+ on the Cara Este drift zone in the Shelby AC cobra recently, but it’s still nowhere near my pre-series 2 score.
