I'm so glad that you enjoyed my review on this soundbar bud. This speaker is amazing and I'm glad you got one. JBL seems to be pushing this one out because the 9.1 is the new detachable speaker and that cost $1000.

Best review on this sound bar so far. Your audio quality was excellent. Wanted to add that you can charge the surround speakers with micro USB while they’re in use too. What’s that a movie or video game you used in the last part of the video. If so, which one. It looked cool.

@@UnknownEAFCPlayer Yes, with the speakers. I was on holiday in Spain and the price there was also 600/700€. Bought it at www.coolblue.nl , but mediamarkt.nl and JBL.nl had the same price.
Thanks for the great review. I know this was released in 2017. Do you still think this is the best 5.1 wireless surround soundbar? How about Sony or Polk? Any thoughts
Thanks. Straight to the point video. Very nice. I want this to play music from my Iphone xr so I needs bluetooth and I think it would work. I really like to pump that bass.
Non detachable is all is the same basically . Just won’t have the wireless speakers you can take off to add more of that surround sound effect. I believe the soundbar for non detached is the size of the center soundbar without the wireless speakers attached from the other speaker.
Why did they pull the detachable speakers from the 5.1 setup but left it in the 9.1? I believe it's marketing, to make people buy the 9.1 instead of the one piece 5.1. They need incentive for people to move up on prices. The new 5.1 is not an upgrade, all they added was chromecast, but the multibeam tech is no match for a detached speaker you can place in back of you.
Yea that is true. The new version of the 5.1 is a downgrade and people that had both said the new 5.1 is not as loud as the old version. But that does suck to add the detachable speakers 9.1 only moving forward.
@@WannaBuyIt yeah I bet the 9.1 is dope but not for double the price. I copped the new 5.1 after watching your video lol. Then I found out it's not the same one you got. I returned it and got the detachable one. Waaaay better surround sound, and sound in general. It knocks hard, glad I returned it for the old one Good looking out on the review
Awesome review! Still doing some research but this one is on the top of my list. Do you happen to know if you can connect extra speakers to the sound bar?
Thank you glad I can help and extra speakers to add to the surround sound that I don’t know but I will look into it and if I find a answer I will get back to you. If not I’m sorry about that
Thanks for the quick reply! It's a bummer about the extra speakers but I still think I'm gonna make the purchase. Loving the true wireless feature. Nothing else seems to quite match it.
Yes the bass will knock pictures off the wall!! The surround sound will wow your friends!!! >>>>>BUT after 6 months I started having issues. It would not power up. I had to unplug it and leaved it unplugged for 30 minutes to an hour before it would power up. I called JBL support and by the time we discovered how to power it up the warranty time had lapsed..so now I have to plan out when I will be using the system or just let the TV speakers take over.
This sounds a lot like the JBL 3.1 soundbar that I have...minus the detachable surround speakers. The bass in the 3.1 is so deep, it will knock pictures off the walls if you turn it all the way up, so we keep the bass between 15-20 out of 30. Anyway, this one is better because of the detachable, wireless surround sound speakers...too bad I didn't get this one.
yea JBL subwoofers are crazy with the bass and yes the detachable are a game changer on movie night. scary movies hear whispers behind you and all. so creepy lol
wow, top notch video, been watching lot of videos and no video showcases the features like you did... thanks for this, one question, would you recommend this over Bose 700 which is only 3 channels ?
This seems like a good set up for me since I’m done running wires in the attic. But what other systems can you compare it to? I would like at least two different choices to pick from ? I needs to be under $500 as well .
so Cnet has this as one of the best soundbars of 2020 Yamaha Yas-amzn.to/34UUrtK with this you are gonna lose the detachable speakers and some bass that the JBL has to offer but it's only $300 so you have about $200
JBL 3.1 amzn.to/3bobB5s with this one you basically have the JBL 5.1 little brother. without detachable speakers but it has the same bass speaker that the 5.1 has 10" sub i believe, which is a monster and will give you the big bass rumble. so basically you just won't have the surround sound feel with the detachable speaker on this one is what you lose out on
If you really wanna save Vizio 2.1 amzn.to/351HjTS is only $180 so way under your budget and with the extra money you can look up more things to buy that can link with it to give you that surround sound feel
Yeah I think I’m just going to stick with the JBL bar 5.1 . I keep hearing all this talks about sanso but I feel you get more with the detachable speakers that JBL gives you.
I see you are up in the air bud try out the JBL if you use amazon they have that 30 days return no questions ask thing. See if it’s what you want bud because speakers cost a lot and you want the right one for these prices
They are holding up well still bud. Rear speakers all good no issues but I will say only annoying thing as you seen in the video how I have the soundbar up high (we still haven’t mounted the TV and put the soundbar in its spot) so it’s annoying to have to reach up there to pull it off for wireless. so if your gonna have your soundbar high like above the tv like some ppl like to do, it will be annoying but other than that as of now I still love this system 👍 but once I get the sound bar back low where I can pull it easier I would really be happy
Great review man... will order one now thanks to you, just to know can you charge the detachable speakers while they are not connected to the soundbar?
According to the manual, you can charge them via micro usb. Other reviews have shown people keep them permanently off the sound bar connected through micro usb
there is a micro usb port on the speakers as Lucas pointed out. its on the side that will face the wall when connected to the soundbar idk how i over looked it my bad.
I haven’t tried the jbl 9.1 yet but so far two people told me they liked the 5.1. Better and I have someone in the comments that said the same. But I haven’t heard it myself to compare
@@WannaBuyIt why do they like better? When I was buying the 9.1, people in the comments said 9.1 was better than 5.1. I guess its preference lol. I am getting mine on Thursday and ill get back to you
People was saying they felt like they lost some loudness. I wish I could get the 9.1 I wanna try it out myself. For sure get back to me bud and let me know how it is 👍🏾
@@jokas1krr525 any update? How are you liking the 9.1? I'm on the fence on deciding between the 5.1 or paying double for a 9.1... really want to purchase a 1 and done audio setup for TV but also want to save as much as possible
that's hard to say bud I haven't tested the new one yet. but I will say they made the detachable speakers into the 9.1 now and you have to pay way more for that. If you can get the same thing the 9.1 offers with the older version of the 5.1 for cheaper you should. before they pull the old 5.1s
@@WannaBuyIt had to get the 5.1 without detachable speaker jbl has a 3 day sale right now and they dropped the price from 500 to 300 couldnt beat that i like it but i think the other one is louder but then again idk my friend has and it kocks but his living room is alot smaller than mines thats also a key factor for sounding louder
Hello dude! Thanks for review! It was absolutely helpful for me and that’s why I’ve bought 5.1 bar. It’s amazing! I’m really happy , I’ve tried the sound bar during 2 weeks and I don’t have bad comments about it. Do you know what the function of audio sync buttons is? (+ and -) Good job! Thank you!
I’m glad you are enjoying the soundbar bud 🙏. Audio sync is to adjust the audio to match the video if they are not matching and off tempo. Sone people have that problem here and there, I use to have it when I used my firestick from time to time . So with that you can match it up if you are ever have that issue with voice and lips are not matching
Wanna Buy It thank you! Yeah absolutely, I’ve never had that problem. And I hope don’t have it in future lol thank you again bro! I really appreciate it.
Was bout to spend 220$ nornally 500 on a Yamaha system just gonna go with this !This seems awesome as soon as the pandemic is over gonna get some $ and make my theater room a reality
Heck yea man it’s a great system loud as heck and the bass rumble is crazy doesn’t translate well in the video but when I tell you the whole house shakes it really does. When your not the one watching the movie it’s so annoying to be in the other rooms when the bass is turned all the way up 😂
you do get that true surround sound with the 3 speakers. my parents don't like having the two detached speakers behind them with their jbl because they said they always look behind them because of footsteps and background sounds from the movies lol. I will say the speakers sounds waves play off each other just right to give you that true surround sound feel without having speakers all over your house to get that same feel
@@WannaBuyIt Really, 5.1, I believe you. I can hear the quality. I have the bose cinemate 120, kind of think 💭 I’m missing out. It’s kind of dated. Vizio 899 sale now Best Buy

Max volume: 48 after 47 is says max Bass Max: 30 Wireless speakers Max: +6 and it also goes negative numbers if you the wireless speakers to be lower in sound 👍
Thanks for the reply my friend! Appreciate it! I purchased the jbl 5.1 newer model and was dissapointed that the loudest setting is 33, loud but not loud enough. My jbl 2.1 is louder when it comes to the soundbar itselft, goes up to 50 max.
@@WannaBuyItyea it certainly is! Going to return and give this one a shot. Hopefully its loud enough for my music taste. The subwoofer is the best part.
I haven’t use the Bose sound touch 30 so I can’t really speak on that. So take what I say with a grain of salt: if you looking for that movie theater feel I will go jbl 5.1, I only say that because you have the wireless speakers behind you, bass you can put anywhere to get that perfect rumble and soundbar in front of you. That being said if you don’t want all that stuff and you just in a small room I see nothing wrong with the Bose
But I’m sure that Bose will not achieve the all surrounding feel the jbl 5.1 has without buy a lot of next stuff for the Bose to achieve it. Remember take with a grain of salt didn’t set out the Bose 👍
It's great the dialogue is perfect. sound effects and stuff do not take over the dialogue. I'm guessing most of the sound effects come out the detachable speakers.
and from my room I hear every word and feel the bass in the movies they are watching in the living room. when your not the one watching the movie. It be having you HOT! in the other rooms sometimes hahahahahahah

I have the same sound bar but I find myself constantly on Max volume and yet, the volume is still “low ish”… do you have the same issue? The subwoofer however, is super loud. No complaints. But the no, totally opposite.
No we haven't had issue with the soundbar yet. and my family stays watching movies on fully blast right morning to night all weekend. I'm sorry to hear you are having that issue because the soundbar is not cheap. that sucks
@@budlloyd3127 it's going to be worth it with all the movies coming out soon on HBO MAX. We don't have to go to the movies to watch them because we have out own movie theater. something like that might work lol
Hdmi and hdmi arc provide the same sound quality but arc have extra features provided by the TV with ARC. Maybe the hdmi cable is an old version or a cheep one.
@Wanna Buy it. Very nice review. I've been looking into this soundbar. Do the detachable rear speakers still produce sound when attached to the soundbar?
Nice review bro. I believe you have been using this product for long time now so. Can you tell me one thing. If the batteries of the detachable rear speakers don't last for long time then is there any way to charge the batteries using mobile phone micro usb charger? Asking cause suppose you are watching a movie and the batteries of the rear speakers are down before the movie finishes so is it possible to charge them with phone charger?
Yes it has a micro usb charger on the side of both the detachable speakers that you can plug the into the wall or even a portable charger to keep them juiced up while you finish the movie. And it hasn’t been a problem yet we will get about 2-3 movies out of it and than connect it back and charge up for another time 👍
when i called JBL a while back they told me "nothing else can connect to the system" but I think someone in the comments may have said they connected another Sub not sure though check in the comments might be there. I'm at work so I can't look for you sorry
I honestly still think so because off the bass and detached able speakers. In the last two years a lot of soundbars have came out with Dolby atoms for reasonable prices. But I think this is a still monster until JBL discontinues this version of the 5.1
Sounds like the bass is killer on this. I was curious how the vocals are if the mids arent great. Can you hear people talking crisply? How does dialogue sound if you are watching a show that is more conversation driven and all talking?
The talking sounds clear you definitely can hear over the bass and with the bass control you can have it set from 0-max so if you are watching a show you don’t want no crazy bass with you can just turn it down a bit. But the sound bar is real loud the bass will not over power the room 👍
Thank you and I know it’s a great idea to get the surround sound feel and it works well. Come back and leave a comment about the sound bar and how you liked it 👍🏽
@@WannaBuyIt I got the speakers on Saturday and best speakers I've ever bought in my life considering this is my third sound bar. My last one was the Razer levitation but I need a major upgrade and this delivered. I'm impressed across the board the detachable speakers are very versatile. I set them up differently depending what I'm watching and where I'm in the room. But I've used it for movies, music, UA-cam videos, TV shows, and I watched the super bowl with it using the sports mode. But I like the voice mode the most for UA-cam videos/podcasts/audio books or for my favorite type of movies are which "talkies". Good afternoon, I bought this sound system in February this year, and I still can't get my sub woofer to pair up with my sound bar. The button behind the sub woofer only flashes with a white colour on it and it goes back to being stable with an orange colour on. May you kindly assist please. I cannot get to hear my sub woofer
No sound from the wireless subwoofer. • Check if the Subwoofer LED is in solid white colour. If white LED is blinking, connection is lost. Pls manually pair the Subwoofer to soundbar (see ‘Pair with the subwoofer’ on page 4)
The wireless subwoofer automatically connects with the soundbar when both units are powered on. If the subwoofer is on and connected, the LED lights white continuously. If no audio from the wireless subwoofer can be heard, manually pair the subwoofer: 1. Turn on the soundbar and the subwoofer. If the connection is lost, the LED indicator on the subwoofer blinks slowly. 2. Press the CONNECT button on the subwoofer to enter pairing mode. The LED indicator on the subwoofer blinks quickly. 3.Press and hold DIM DISPLAY button on remote control for 5 seconds, followed by short press on BASS+, and BASS- button in sequence. Panel display will show “PAIRING” If the pairing succeeds, the LED indicator on the subwoofer lights up and the soundbar display will show “DONE”. If the pairing fails, the indicator on the subwoofer blinks slowly. 4. If the pairing fails, repeat the steps above.
If this doesn’t work just let me know. I’m at work and will be here late today but when I get home I will try to remember to look up more things that will help you 👍

The main soundbar will be plugged in to work like a regular soundbar. the wireless speakers charge when you plug them back into the main center soundbar.
Thank you for your review, if you don't mind, can you please answer my question regarding the LED on the mini speakers? I have noticed the speaker on the left side shows solid red led when both mini speakers are connected to the bar but the right side mini speaker doesn't show Red LED, is this the same case for you as well? Thanks
when I first turned it on my left was white and my right was red opposite of yours. so one was showing "connected" and other showing "charging" and than after a quick second both of them were showing solid red showing they were both charging.
"Each wireless surround speaker will charge when attached to the soundbar and the system is in STANDBY mode. The surround speakers will stop charging when the soundbar is power ON" -JBL So i'm hoping your lights are just acting dumb, Solid Reds charging so that's good and Solid White means Connected also good. the white one hasn't been dying on you right when you disconnect it?
Thank you very much for your prompt response and help. This confirms that my right mini speaker doesn't seem to charge. I put the bar on standby mode and only left was charging (solid RED light) and absolutely no light on my right speaker. I then tried charging both with a charging wire and the left speaker was charging with the red light on but the right speaker didn't show any lights which confirms it's not working.
No problem at all bud. I’m glad you enjoy the soundbar 🙏
Awesome review! Still doing some research but this one is on the top of my list. Do you happen to know if you can connect extra speakers to the sound bar?
Thank you glad I can help and extra speakers to add to the surround sound that I don’t know but I will look into it and if I find a answer I will get back to you. If not I’m sorry about that
I called customer support right now for you and they said no you can’t add extra speakers sorry about that 🙏
Thanks for the quick reply! It's a bummer about the extra speakers but I still think I'm gonna make the purchase. Loving the true wireless feature. Nothing else seems to quite match it.
I bought two of these systems a while ago and can confirm that it works having both subs connected to one soundbar.
Great video keep up the great work.
Thank you bud. Have a great day and be safe out there
Yes the bass will knock pictures off the wall!! The surround sound will wow your friends!!! >>>>>BUT after 6 months I started having issues. It would not power up. I had to unplug it and leaved it unplugged for 30 minutes to an hour before it would power up. I called JBL support and by the time we discovered how to power it up the warranty time had lapsed..so now I have to plan out when I will be using the system or just let the TV speakers take over.
damn bud that sucks sorry to hear your soundbar crashed out on you like that. so weak!
@@WannaBuyIt weak? Ever use a Thesaurus?
Which one is better for movie compared to JBL 500?
How many Watts of subwoofer and frequency response?
Excellent review
Thank you bud 🙏🏾

Yes bud it still slaps. Make sure you get the detachable one because the have the new one with the same name but it’s not detachable 👍🏾
Great review. Does this device require the Optical Cable or can you just connect with blue tooth or Google Home?
It has hDMI, optical or Bluetooth you connect any of those ways 👍🏾

Your welcome bud. Thanks for watching my video
Can this sound bar connects to TV using wire or wireless?
Nice review..the link to amazon..they want 745$😮
Nice review dude thank you 👌🇵🇭✌️
Thank you bud I appreciate it 🙏🏾
how are these holding up? (mainly the rear wireless speakers)
How is this hooked up to get surround sound? I know bluetooth doesn't broadcast a 5.1 signal
Good video bro 👌🏼

Yes you should be good to go 👍🏾 I even looked it up just in case and it says LG as well 👌🏾
Great review man... will order one now thanks to you, just to know can you charge the detachable speakers while they are not connected to the soundbar?
Thank you bud 🙏🏾. I just checked for you and no you can’t charge off of the soundbar it has it’s not special weird connection just for the soundbar 👍🏾
Great video! I just ordered JBL 9.1 soundbar. Could you please tell me the difference between the 2 JBL soundbars. 5.1 vs 9.1? Thanks bro
I haven’t tried the jbl 9.1 yet but so far two people told me they liked the 5.1. Better and I have someone in the comments that said the same. But I haven’t heard it myself to compare

5.1 with detachable speakers or the new one without detacahble speakers?????
which one should i get
that's hard to say bud I haven't tested the new one yet. but I will say they made the detachable speakers into the 9.1 now and you have to pay way more for that. If you can get the same thing the 9.1 offers with the older version of the 5.1 for cheaper you should. before they pull the old 5.1s
@@WannaBuyIt had to get the 5.1 without detachable speaker jbl has a 3 day sale right now and they dropped the price from 500 to 300 couldnt beat that

But I haven’t used that in a while. Some people may never have to use that at all

Heck yea man it’s a great system loud as heck and the bass rumble is crazy doesn’t translate well in the video but when I tell you the whole house shakes it really does. When your not the one watching the movie it’s so annoying to be in the other rooms when the bass is turned all the way up 😂
Would you recommend this over the 9.1 jbl?
Oh that’s hard price point wise I would. But I haven’t tried the 9.1 I know they made the 9.1 charged way more and make the new 5.1 non detachable
@@WannaBuyIt thanks for the reply!
So is it producing actual 5.1 with only three speakers? I'm really tempted on purchasing this and I was curious about the 5.1 sound.
you do get that true surround sound with the 3 speakers. my parents don't like having the two detached speakers behind them with their jbl because they said they always look behind them because of footsteps and background sounds from the movies lol. I will say the speakers sounds waves play off each other just right to give you that true surround sound feel without having speakers all over your house to get that same feel

Jbl 5.1 soundbar system or Bose Soundtouch 30? Need immediate suggestion
I saw I had the bass plugged into the wall. Is tht necessary? Or is it wireless also?
the bass will need to be plugged into the wall
Hey, how is the center speaker? Can you adjust it? If not, how is the dialogue clarity?
It's great the dialogue is perfect. sound effects and stuff do not take over the dialogue. I'm guessing most of the sound effects come out the detachable speakers.

Debating on buying this. Would you say this is the best "surround" soundbar for around $500‽
Great vid you sold me on this sound bar. I'm surprised this is the only sound bar that has the option to have detachable left and right speakers.

If no audio from the wireless subwoofer can be heard, manually pair the subwoofer:
Panel display will show “PAIRING”
If the pairing succeeds, the LED indicator on the subwoofer lights up and the soundbar display will show “DONE”.
If the pairing fails, the indicator on the subwoofer blinks slowly. 4. If the pairing fails, repeat the steps above.

seems like that HDMI is the man issue for a lot of these problems i only used optical cable and Bluetooth with all my soundbars but i'm looking for more stuff
man there is nothing on this issue on the internet. i would say factory reset it and than try all the different ways to connect it one by one. optical, HDMI, Bluetooth and test one at a time to see if one can fix the problem for you. I hope one of those ways will work for you bud. sorry you got this issue i know its annoying when there is no answer online anywhere
jbl bar 5.1 or sony ZF9, which is the best?
I love my JBl but I have never tried the song ZF9 so I can’t compare. I don’t want lead you to the wrong product 🙏
